My interests in changing my eating habits were to improve my running and to lose some weight along the way. Paul's suggestion of a no-sugar no-grain approach, which I implemented at breakfast and lunch by substituting salads for cereals and yogurts, took 10 pounds off my weight, made me feel less hungry all day, and improved my running. This occurred over about 6-8 weeks with far less effort than any "diet" (and no beating myself up about eating too much). Then I ran an experiment, and added a few grains back in... and my weight went up 4 pounds over a couple of weeks, take the grains away, and my weight went back down. In other words, Paul's eating lessons aren't so much a diet as they are an eating philosophy, and one that really works.
