It's hard to find the right piano teacher. But when I found Emily I knew I needed to look no further. I have been taking piano lessons on and off 20 years and within the first few lessons she taught me elements of theory and artistry that I had never seen from a teacher. She is patient, thoughtful and an expert in her craft. She listens and selects pieces that are inspirational to my taste and builds a curriculum to my skill level (intermediate) and pushes me just enough to help me feel confident while still learning new skills.

My 7-year-old daughter took weekly singing lessons with Emily for a little over 3 months. Emily was sweet and very encouraging. My daughter really liked her and was always looking forward to her singing lessons. The lessons had to stop because Emily was relocating to another city. Before she left, Emily went out of her way, took time from her busy moving schedule and gave my daughter a free farewell lesson. We wish her all the best in her new chapter in life.

Emily was our voice teacher for 7 months. My husband and I noticed marked improvement in our vocal abilities. Emily challenged us with exercises and music repertoire. She is very capable on the piano and exceptional in her vocal abilities. We would highly recommend her as a voice and piano instructor.

I wanted to learn things, not just sing and be heard with little hints. I wanted to learn valuable things. She warned me that we would start a bit slow on some scales and throat and larynx positioning and after the first couple of lessons, I was afraid that it was going to be boring. But in the third lesson, it got pretty amazing. Worked on interesting techniques, changed things up for interest, worked on songs I needed help with, evaluated the best key for songs and my voice. After one lesson, I called two people to just tell them how cool something new was that we had done. She knows her stuff and has a lot of info to share. I'm very impressed.

As a vocalist in a worship band I wanted to improve my voice so I joined Sofia's lessons a year ago. My voice became definitely more stable after a couple of months and she helped me to discover my real register. Besides practicing scales she recommended me songs from different styles which I'd not thought before that I could ever sing. She gave me useful instructions how to perform. Because of her sensitivity she found the best personal examples for me. It was really a pleasure to take part in her lessons. We had lots of fun.

Amazing teacher and amazing woman. Singing lessons with Sofia were an amazing journey - to vocal and personal freedom. The teaching method Sofia uses was a revolution, changing almost all I was taught about singin so far - and it brought wonderful, unexpected results! If you are lucky enough to have a chance to learn from her - wow!

Kyle has been teaching my 11 year old son piano and music theory. What I really appreciate about Kyle is his ability to really listen and figure out what his students need. My son has a natural ear for music and Kyle has been not only able to successfully motivate my son to practice and enjoy the experience of music, but to also give him the taste of the structure and ideas behind many different genres. Kyle is talented enough to train students on the basics but he goes far beyond the traditional sense of teach music (scales, technical hand positions). He is giving my son the tools to create music in his own way for years to come. Kyle is an amazing value for any student and I'd recommend him to anyone considering improving their musical experience.

I started taking his piano lessons only about a month ago, but it''s been such a great joy to work with him. He constantly assesses my weaknesses and strengths, and plans my lessons accordingly. He also listens carefully to what I like and what I want to do, too. I live a bit far from his studio, but it's totally worth it. I highly recommend him!

My wife and I have been taking music lessons with Kyle for over a year. He is a very versatile musician being proficient on the piano, guitar and vocals. Because of this he is able explain many different aspects of music. He is also extremely patient. Kyle is the best.

Bonnie is, quite simply, a superb piano teacher, and we whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone who is serious about his or her child learning to play the piano. She translates complex music theory into easy building blocks for a small child to understand. Bonnie then relates these concepts to activities and ideas easy to grasp. She balances mechanics with theory and sight-reading with improvisation. And Bonnie has an amazing amount of patience, kindness, good humor, and phenomenal skill! She can draw my daughter’s little wandering mind back to the subject easily and makes learning the piano fun and interesting.

Loletta L.

When we arrived for the initial consultation for singing lessons and my daughter saw the piano, she asked if she could take piano lessons first. So, we're now taking piano lessons from Bonnie. I find her to work very well with kids, my daughter is 8, and my daughter likes her and is happy too. She explains things clearly, gives praise when earned, and is helpful and pleasant to work with.

My 4-year-old son has been taking lessons with Deanna for the past 6 months. I am a preschool teacher. I was immediately impressed by how Deanna was able to connect with my child and work with him with such calmness and ease. My son tried many different classes and has had many different instructors. Deanna has by far been his favorite instructor and he is always excited and ready for class. The program she uses is wonderful, it introduces children to sequencing and patterns, fine motor skills and development and so much more. I highly highly recommend classes with Deanna. We love her!

Shannon is a great piano teacher. He is fun and makes his students feel comfortable. Shannon not only teaches how to read music but chord progression. He knows all types of music and does his best to accommodate the child's interest. With my son he assessed his abilities as was able to encourage him to try all kinds of music from classic, rock, jazz, religious, and even Christmas. My son says Shannon is awesome! We hate that he moved out of our area. Anyone taking lessons from Shannon will be fortunate to have such a talented man for their teacher.

Helen, was AMAZING, she taught my 6 yr daughter her first piano lesson. We were going to try out a few different teachers, but after meeting her, I have no interest going anywhere else. Thank you for being so friendly and so talented! <3 A few things that were important to me were, 1. She could connect with my 6 year old. 2. That she could teach syllabus. 3. That she has opportunities for her students to perform during the year. She met all three of those. :)

My 4 year old son and I get lessons from Nyssa. I do voice. I have learned a lot from Nyssa. She is very knowledgeable, patient and so encouraging! My son is doing Wunderkeys(preschool piano)with Nyssa. He has limited motor skills and this has really helped him make great progress. I see growth in that he is doing things with his hands that he had trouble with in the past. She works really well with him as well. My husband calls it my son's "occupational therapy." I would recommend her 100%

My lessons with Nyssa are absolutely therapeutical! She is encouraging and very knowledgeable about what she teaches-two qualities which can be difficult to find in a teacher. She is very good at listening to what your goals are and helping you reach them, while instilling a well-rounded vocal foundation. I cannot say enough awesome things about her! I love Nyssa!

Ten or eleven years ago I searched for a piano teacher for my then 8 year old grandson. Dan Kenison's name kept coming up. My grandson became his student, and a few years later, also my granddaughter. Dan has a soft, easy way with his students. My grandkids loved him, always looking forward to their lessons and yearly recitals. Now that they have moved on in their lives my old piano has been standing grand, but silent. A year ago I made the decision to learn to play her...at 67 years old! Of course, I phoned Dan...aka Mr K...and have been his student, now going into my second year with him. I'm amazed that I can actually play recognizable tunes! I am self-employed and must practice around my own somewhat busy schedule. There have been weeks when practice was slim. But Mr K is willing to go the distance with me whatever time that may take. I am so grateful to have this opportunity at this later time in my life to yet learn and begin to understand the language of music. I highly recommend Dan Kenison to future students...no matter their age or ability. Suzanne Jauchius 503 655 2631 West Linn, Oregon

My 6 year old has been working with Mr K for the last couple of months and things are going great. I was worried about transitioning from one teach to another thinking that my son may not like the lesson format but that hasn't been the case at all. Mr K has a lot of experience working with younger kids and I can see that in his interactions. My son is high energy but Mr K can redirect him when needed. Also, scheduling and setting up payment was a breeze so as a working parent, I appreciate that!

Today was my first day working with Darin, and I must say I was more than impressed by his knowledge in music, skills in pedagogy, and his overall passion and enthusiasm for music and teaching! I could truly sense his excitement for me to learn and how much he cared to provide me with all the resources needed for me to succeed. He is not only an excellent pianist, but truly has incredible talent and knowledge in teaching. He truly spends his time generously in teaching and makes the learning experience so exciting. Darin spend extra time outside of the lesson planning out the lesson and then typing up all the things we covered in the lesson so I would have a summary and point of reference. I highly recommend him and am looking forward to working with him as my teacher!

I highly recommend Tim as a cello teacher! I've taken cello lessons from Tim for almost 3 years. I started at age 44 with more than a little apprehension having had less than ideal experiences as a kid with a few piano teachers. I wanted to learn to play a lot of tv/movie soundtrack music as well as the more standard classical tunes. Tim's sense of humor and easy-going demeanor combined with his vast knowledge of musical theory plus his skill as a cellist are the perfect combination to inspire and draw me forward in my learning. He knows how to apply enough challenge plus enough encouragement to help even the older student excel to the best of their ability.

I highly recommend Tim Smith as a teacher in many areas of music. I am so elated to be taking cello lessons with this fine teacher! Tim is multi-talented and able to challenge me through every level of musical growth. I appreciate his individual teaching style which allows each student to progress at their own personal rate. He is flexible and accommodating with lesson times and his rates are right in line with the local teaching market.

I took cello lessons with Elisa for a few years and played in a group of student, stringed musicians led by her for a few more. She is very good at what she does. She is also very kind. Her lessons are affordable (especially important for a broke college student like me), and her schedule flexible for the most part.

From my experience, Blake Marble is among some of the best piano teachers in this generation, especially for his age. He takes special care to impress a large range of pianistic details onto his students, fundamental or advanced, all while remaining relaxed and tolerant to his students. He imposes not a restrictive structure to his students, but one which, with the help of the student, is a nurturing one which ultimately not only excites the student to practice, but also molds with and improves the student's technique substantially. Finally, Blake Marble is one of the few piano teachers I have found, which honestly and deeply cares about not only piano technique, but also pianistic artistry, and pushes the student in all accounts to developing a true artistry for the piano.

Blake is a consummate professional whose ability to portray advanced artistic detail to any level of ability is unparalleled. Blake receives my highest level of recommendation to teach from beginning to advanced students.
