I was a relative beginner to the guitar when I started lessons with Otis. From the first lesson he was patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. He tailors the lessons to the types of music and songs you are interested in. He has a wide range of music knowledge and styles which make him an ideal teacher who can help any student take that first step toward becoming a guitar player or help a seasoned player hone their skills. Highly recommended!
I've been taking guitar lessons from Nick Cooper for 7 months. Besides having a great time, I've learned a tremendous amount from Nick and improved my playing greatly. Whenever I'm having an issue, he's has been able to give me the right exercises and instruction to iron my problems out and keep me progressing. His lessons always keep in mind my personal preferences and objectives. I'm particularly excited about his plans for group workshops to involve all of his interested students. Being an older adult with a full-time job, I've been especially appreciative of his efforts to work within my schedule and time constraints. All in all, I look to be studying with Nick for a long time. Cliff Cahall
As an example of how effective Andy's instruction was for classical guitar, I am writing a review over a year since I've last seen him because I am still benefiting from his lessons. His musical experience and teaching ability made each meeting pleasant and productive. Pay attention to what he says.
Jaime has been a wonderful guitar tutor for me. I had no idea about guitar basics and here I am on track to start playing songs. It has been 2 months since i started class with Jaime and every class has been professional and personalized to my needs. He understood my strengths and corrected my mistakes. He consistently challenged me to move out of my comfort zone while playing. It takes patience to teach and Jaime has got it. He truly added value for the money I paid.
After years of guitar experience, I wanted to start learning again after a long hiatus. Bradley is very patient and eager to explain advanced technique and break them down to easy to understand methods for me to practice with. I believe my technique has improved much faster while learning classical guitar with him and will continue taking lessons with him. He's like a secret weapon for a budding guitar player!
Shane is an awesome guitar teacher! He is very laid back, fun, and pays attention to where you are as a student. He pushes you, but also makes sure you're still having fun because he knows that's what it's all about. I highly recommend him as a teacher - and the G4 method is easy to follow. Instead of grabbing your usual beer and a Lyft, spend the cash on guitar lessons you have always wanted to take!
I have taken guitar lessons from Alan Donati for a number of years in order to better understand music. Being a weathered rock/blues drummer myself, I can attest that Alan is a very accomplished musician and seasoned music teacher who learned his craft via years of playing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as attending Berklee as a solid foundation. Alan can teach a number of instruments well such as guitar, bass and piano alongside incorporating music theory with the practical applications. He is very adapt with technology as well as “old school”. I have seen Alan teach many students with great patience with tailored attention to the particular student’s interest. Some veteran musicians can only play well but not teach. However, Alan can obviously do both. And so I am giving Alan an outstanding review and rating.
Grey has been giving guitar lessons since he was in high school. He taught my 30 year old boyfriend how to play well when he was only seventeen. He went on to teach my twelve year old daughter the basics, in the summer before he left for college. He is patient and proficient as a player and as an instructor. He has grown significantly in the years since, and is a highly sought professional.
Jonas has been teaching our daughter, Allison, for about 7 years. I can't begin to say enough about Jonas as a teacher, mentor and person. He has given Allison such confidence in herself and her music . . . Jonas always goes above and beyond - encouraging Allie to perform and write music, working 1 on 1 with her to record her music and getting her used to mics and sound systems. He has been a huge influence on Allison over the years . . .she truly looks to Jonas as one of the people she admires most in her life. We can't recommend Jonas' Guitar Lessons enough!
Prior to taking formal lessons, I had tried some online lessons and guitar books with limited success and great frustration. I decided that I should give formal lessons a try and began taking lessons from Rob in February of 2016. It is safe to say that I have made great progress over the last 10 months. Rob is a patient teacher and always very encouraging. He knows when to push students out of their comfort zone so they keep progressing. Rob makes learning guitar really enjoyable....lessons are truly my favorite part of every week.
As someone who began teaching guitar professionally almost 3 decades ago I can tell you that Taunton Guitar Lessons is THE place to go for the training, mastery and mentoring you need to become the guitar player you want to be. I've seen Josh Beetler in action and he is among the best I've ever seen. You need look no further than what Josh not only can, but WILL do for you.
I have been taking classical guitar lessons with Bill for more than five years. Bill observes me very carefully when I play pieces. He is very perceptive and he makes careful observations about my playing. He has pointed out issues with rhythm, and timing. He has shown me issues I had with hand position. He has commented on performance of the pieces regarding dynamics and bringing out the voices in pieces of music. Bill does not just make observations but he also offers solutions. I have found that his solutions work for me and allow me to resolve issues that I have encountered. I enjoy the lessons very much and I find my studies very gratifying.
"I started Portuguese lessons with Paulo because I wanted a native Portuguese speaker as a teacher. What I got was SO much more. Paulo is very passionate about his language, his teaching, and clearly cares whether the student is understanding and assimilating the lessons presented. His training and career as an Opera singer provides him with flawless and beautiful pronunciation that is literally music to my ears. Because of his voice training he can also hear the slightest deviation in my own pronunciation and accent, allowing me to slowly perfect my own Portuguese pronunciation. The lessons are paced well, not too fast, not too slow, and I can vary the pace as I need to. I've studied several languages before and have never enjoyed the process as much as I do with Paulo. Because Paulo is so personable, I'm laughing while learning my way to fluency!" Rick Oliver
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Jacob is your guy. What you look for in a teacher is someone who ENJOYS teaching you, is patient, and allows you to enjoy what you're doing. You can tell Jacob cares about what he does and he cares about teaching someone the guitar. In a short period, I've learned a ton from him and he's even gone out of his way to send videos of stuff I've needed to practice. If you're looking for an instructor, Jacob is the man for the job!
Matt is a wonderful teacher and person. He sincerely wants to help people reach their potential and goals for learning guitar. Not only does he spend the time to get to know your background and areas for improvement, but he also caters to your particular style (blues, folk, classical, metal) and is flexible schedule-wise. I completely recommend Matt as a teacher. I have tried many instructors before and none have come close to Matt's patience and willingness to adjust his explanation style to fit your needs.
I was very happy with our first lesson. I look forwar to learning how to play my guitar from Gary.
I have been learning from Akshit for six months now and is an amazing teacher and guitarist to learn from His emphasis on guitar basics really push you to zone of being a professional guitar player
Adam is a great instructor who makes classical guitar a fun and approachable challenge. Adam uses actual pieces of music as a way to teach fundamentals while also building up your classical guitar repertoire.
