Mr. Mike did an excellent job and was very reasonable priced. I requested help for washer and dryer hook ups and ended up getting him to fix various plumbing issues around the house. I will most certainly use him again for future issues.

SO AWESOME! Sticks to his price and works hard to find the problem! I have a pretty complicated whirlpool washer and he took it all apart until he knew exactly what the problem is so that he wouldn't charge me more than he needed to. I love that he explained the problem to me and also gave me tips to keep other parts of my washer from breaking in the future! WILL ABSOLUTELY USE AGAIN!

John came out same day to repair our dryer. Easy to work with, kind, knowledgeable. Unfortunately the dryer needed a very expensive unavailable part, so we will replace it. But I felt like John did all he could before that conclusion.

Dan was great. Very professional. Kept me updated on his arrival. He did a fantastic job fixing a burst pipe and installing some new equipment for the washer that was needed. He took great pride in his work and showed me his work periodically to insure i was happy with the progress. I will be hiring him again in the future.

Well, well. Nice to know there are professionals out there who are attentive, caring and who go above and beyond their call of duty! David Jones came to my home to repair a toilet issue and did so promptly and with care. Even though I trusted he did the job well, he made me check it out and explained to me how the toilet was supposed to work, what to do and what not to do. THEN....he even took the time to look at more issues in my home that I needed help with. He's a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy and I think that's great! And could not beat his cost anywhere😊

My whirlpool dryer went out and I needed it fixed asap. I called Appliance Rescue and Repair and he was at my house within 20 minutes of me calling. Prices are VERY reasonable, he had the new part with him and I was back in business within 30 minutes. Very nice and friendly guy and will definitely use him again.

Thank you so much Carolina with Riva's Appliance Repair. My washer wasn't working and I was recommended to try Thumb Tack and sure glad I did...I soon as I hit submit on my request, my phone was ringing seconds later and it was Carolina...she diagnosed my washer issue and came out and fixed it and was here less than 35 minutes and very communicative. I will be referring her to all of my friends and family! Thank you Carolina for getting my washer up and running again.

Moved to Dallas not knowing anybody to help me get settled. Hooked up the washer dryer and even went to get a part with no extra cost but the price of the part. Even helped me get my mattress up the stairs. Highly recommend using his services.

Service was amazing. My first call was answered by someone who could help me, the man himself. He said he could come by within the hour, and he did. In about 10 minutes, he diagnosed the problem, told me the cost, and left to get the parts for my job and another he had to finish. This was Saturday morning. He said he would call if he could make it back the same day, if not, he would finish on Monday. Acceptable. He didn't call that day, but called on Sunday(!!) to see if we were available for him to finish the job. Again, he showed up within the hour and we had our washer repaired. The only drawback to this excellent service is we had to spend the rest of the day washing our laundry backlog. :) I highly recommend the Appliance Doctor and would use him again.

the repairman was at my house within 2 hours of the call to repair my refridgerator, and it was in the snow! He diagnosed the problem very quickly and had the part to fix it the very next day. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one but now its working better than it has in a very long time. I mentioned to him that I was having problems getting my DVD to work and he took a look at it and had that going before he left. Great job at a great price!!! I now have this number in my phone as a contact so when something goes wrong I know an honest repairman!!!

Nestor responded very quickly to my request for washer and dryer installation. We just moved in and needed help changing out the wall outlet that didn't match our dryer plug and needed to get everything hooked up and working right. He came quickly the next morning, was promptly on time, courteous, knowledgeable, polite and professional. Very reasonable price as well! Would definitely call again!

My Whirlpool washing machine quit on me the other day, just up and quit at the beginning of the rinse cycle. I was so mad. I had to take my clothes to my sisters to and re-wash it. My sister told me to call up Fort Worth Appliance Repair. She and her husband use them all of the time. So I figured why not? They sent a technician out to my place the next day. He said that the fuse in the washing machine blew out, and he replaced it. Voila the washing machine is working again. When I got the bill, I was very impressed. My big Sister never steers me wrong. Thanks Sis, and thanks to the good people at Fort Worth Appliance Repair. I will be using this company again in the future.

Our dryer is now working which is great! There were some communication issues, but these wouldn't prevent us from using them again in the future. The technician went to wrong business so we weren't able to get them out the day we initially scheduled. He came out the next day with an estimate, which we approved, but then had the wrong parts (they said due to old dryer but estimate said "all parts in stock"). He didn't come on Saturday as scheduled for install, but came out early Tuesday after the holiday and got it working quickly. All in all would use them again but with the expectation that it probably won't be same day service or all parts in stock, as advertised. We do have an old commercial dryer and not many people work on them, so we were thankful for them. Communication could have been better - we felt like we were chasing them down to see where they were - but pricing was fair and our dryer is working great again!

Over the years I have used Mr. Tate for numerous jobs around my rent houses as well as my own house. He has been a true blessing for me as a resource to be able to call. He is the only person I will ever call for a/c & heating repair. He has repaired washer machines, dryers, dish washing machines, water heaters, installed dry wall, and painted several homes, numerous times for me. Excellent job every time.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

      • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
      • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
      • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

      How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
