Still, we are nothing if not careful researchers, and when we learned about Elemental Remodeling from friends, we were cautiously optimistic ("wow, that seems too good to be true!"). We met with a team lead at Elemental, Wayne, who listened intently to our vision and asked a lot of great questions about what we hoped to achieve with our remodel. Ultimately, he was able to propose a staged approach to completing all facets of our remodel, which not only met with our budgetary constraints but ended up enabling us to do everything we wanted with our home in less time than we imagined. When all said and done, we found the Elemental solution to be moderately priced, though a significantly upscale result from what we guessed would be the case, minimally disruptive to our lives (especially important with multiple young children at home) and left us feeling like we had not only made a great decision in hiring Elemental, we come away from this experience with a new family friend. About a year ago, while searching online for a general contractor to renovate a home of mine, I came across Brivenca Builders and decided to take a chance and hire them to do the job. It was a 2600 sq.ft. home in a high rise building and we completely gutted it and rebuilt it. Fast forward one year, and we have now completed three projects together. Edwin and his team are professional, timely, meticulous, and very easy to work with. I have always been able to rely on them to manage, and get the job done, and done right. I have worked with other General Contractors over the years who are a little less expensive, but, I have learned that you get what you pay for, and in many instances, I end up paying more in the long run trying to fix their mistakes. I highly recommend Brivenca to anyone looking for a full service, professional company for their renovation needs.

I had called three Thumbtack pros to do my porch and patio projects but to me the GEI RENOVATION showed how “estimation” on a project needs to be done. Ido came over and he spent some time discussing the projects with me. What I liked about it was, he gave me good ideas on how he would do them, showed me pictures of his completed similar projects and the most credible of all was he SAT DOWN AND WROTE EVERY DETAIL OF HIS WORK IN WRITING. I did not have to wait just like the other two pros that came over when they told me to “wait” which took weeks for them to do. There is a saying that “first impression lasts forever”. After dealing with some pretty terrible contractors in the past, working with John and his team at Renovation Houston was a breath of fresh air. They went above and beyond our expectations to remodel our kitchen, bathroom and wood floors, and we are so thrilled with the outcome! They even found a way to hang our 4 story chandelier when no other electrician could figure it out. The crew was punctual, respectful and dedicated. His tile guy, Lee, is the best there is. They worked with us on pricing and got the job done quick. With the quality and detail they put into our house, not only was their work well worth it, it added greater value to our home itself. We are so happy with the final results. It feels like a brand new house!!

I hired Texans Shield through Thumbtack for a major renovation on: - the front of my house - back of my house - pouring new concrete for my walkway and driveway His work also includes replacing the front door, fixing load-bearing posts, updating fascia and soffit, and framing a new roof section over the awning. From day one, they were super professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The crew did a fantastic job keeping everything clean and on schedule. They handled every detail with care — from pouring new concrete for the posts to sealing siding gaps and perfectly matching the paint. The new awning roof now channels water properly into the gutters, and the whole front of the house looks amazing! The quality of work was top-notch, and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. At first we were excited to work with Ido and GEI Renovation Group. The first time he visited on-site, we didn't have our plans in order. Rightfully so, Ido said we should talk once we had all our plans. Fast forward about half a year. I sent a text message to Ido to see if he would still be interested in our small project as I finally had all the required plans and even pulled all required permits in the City of Houston. We met the next day and he went over all the plans. We were supposed to receive a quote about a week later. More than a month later, 3 or 4 emails sent, 4 follow-up text messages and absolutely no response. A simple reply to ANY of those communication methods would have been nice. Even if to say he couldn't take on our project, his workload had increased too much, or the project was too small in scale. Instead, we wasted valuable time trying to get a response and quote from someone who just isn't professional at communicating.

Do not hire this company – a costly mistake! I hired this company for a full remodel, including a bathroom and kitchen renovation, as well as interior and exterior painting. From the beginning, there were issues. Toward the end of the project, I noticed that significant areas of both the interior and exterior were left unpainted. When I brought this up, they demanded an additional $10,000, despite our contract clearly stating that a complete paint job was included. Unfortunately, I didn’t pursue the issue further due to the potential for further costs. To make matters worse, after paying them with a cashier’s check, the project manager, Damian Lee, accused me of providing a “fake” check and made an extremely offensive and racial discriminating comment. Later, the owner confirmed that the check was valid, but the experience left a terrible impression. After an inspection, I found that NONE of the plumbing work had been done correctly. I contacted the owner, Saad Airout, over a month ago about this, and he promised to send someone to resolve the issues, but no one has shown up. Attempts to speak with them in person have also been ignored. If you’re looking for professionalism, accountability, or quality work, I strongly advise against using this company. They’ve cost me time, money, and peace of mind.

This is a long overdue review, but we just bought our first house in June, 2020. I shortlisted a number of contractors and although he is not the cheapest, I decided to go with GEI and Ido for their positive reviews on Google and Thumbtack. I appreciate that he's willing to work with my changing requests in the middle of a stressful pandemic and his crew did a great job in some of our most important projects: replacing our bowed ceiling and siding, as well as painting the new siding. Although we only met a couple of times, communication was not an issue, and after speaking with his crew, I can see that he did a good job in treating his employees well which earned him their respect that translated to quality workmanship. One important thing that I wished I had known was that they do not work on Saturday, which I fully respect that, but it has delayed our project and costed us a few days in hotel because they tore up the ceiling on Thursday/Friday and it was idle on the weekend. Had I known about it before, I would asked them to start the ceiling project on Monday so everything is done in one week. Overall, I am happy with their delivery and would recommend you to at least check him out for your renovation projects.
