They were always punctual in arriving to do the work. The quality of the renovation work that they did was outstanding! Their prices were reasonable compared to other contractors. If you use them. GOOD LUCK. Construction and Renovation is not there thing. The work was poorly done. Demanded payment even though not complete. The job was suppose to be a make ready. The only thing about make ready is WHERE IS MY MONEY!!! No pride in the work. Had to hire other people to properly get the job done

Brivenca Builders
Brivenca Builders
About a year ago, while searching online for a general contractor to renovate a home of mine, I came across Brivenca Builders and decided to take a chance and hire them to do the job. It was a 2600 sq.ft. home in a high rise building and we completely gutted it and rebuilt it. Fast forward one year, and we have now completed three projects together.

Edwin and his team are professional, timely, meticulous, and very easy to work with. I have always been able to rely on them to manage, and get the job done, and done right.

I have worked with other General Contractors over the years who are a little less expensive, but, I have learned that you get what you pay for, and in many instances, I end up paying more in the long run trying to fix their mistakes.

I highly recommend Brivenca to anyone looking for a full service, professional company for their renovation needs.

Edward and his crew (David) were excellent throughout the entire process. Edward came out and explained all the steps for the kitchen renovation, asked me great questions to make sure I got what I wanted, and answered all my questions. He's a great communicator and his team did exactly what they said they would do, exactly when they said they'd do it. I highly recommend EBD and will definitely contact or then again for my next project .

Jonathan and Josie were awesome partners in my renovation journey. Their experience was evident as they offered numerous options and solutions to my ideas. I had various concepts in mind but after speaking with them many ideas changed for the better. They are aware and up to date on current market and design trends. Their team and network is vast and creative. Most importantly, they bring great attitudes, are patient and supportive throughout the process, and made sure I was pleased with the final outcome. I plan to use them on other projects and have already referred them to others.

GEI RENOVATION GROUP
GEI RENOVATION GROUP
I had called three Thumbtack pros to do my porch and patio projects but to me the GEI RENOVATION showed how “estimation”
on a project needs to be done. Ido came over and he spent some time discussing the projects with me. What I liked about it was, he gave me good ideas on how he would do
them, showed me pictures of his completed similar projects and the most credible of all was he SAT DOWN AND WROTE EVERY DETAIL OF HIS WORK IN WRITING. I did not have to wait just like the other two pros that came over when they told me to “wait” which took weeks for them to do. There is a saying that “first impression lasts forever”. Well, I can say that just by what Ido showed me the first time when he gave me an estimate, my mind was made up already that I would HIRE him for the job which I did!👌🏼Hopefully, he will do a good job which I know he would, because simply his doing an estimate alone is worth commending already to potential clients in the future and I know if I refer him, I will not be embarrased for doing so. Keep it up GEI RENOVATION! You have earned my trust!👌🏼👍🏻

HandyMax
HandyMax
I highly recommend HandyMax for any home repair or renovation needs. He recently completed a diverse range of projects for me over six days, including structural garage wall and soffit repair, fence rebuilding, electrical light fixture installation and interior drywall and molding restoration. He even handled a technical network cable run for my home office. I was particularly impressed by his resourcefulness in salvaging materials to keep costs down and his extreme flexibility with scheduling. He is professional, meticulous about cleaning up his workspace daily, and transparent with all material receipts. If you need a skilled, honest, and adaptable professional, he is an excellent choice.

Renovation Houston
Renovation Houston
After dealing with some pretty terrible contractors in the past, working with John and his team at Renovation Houston was a breath of fresh air.

They went above and beyond our expectations to remodel our kitchen, bathroom and wood floors, and we are so thrilled with the outcome! They even found a way to hang our 4 story chandelier when no other electrician could figure it out.

The crew was punctual, respectful and dedicated. His tile guy, Lee, is the best there is. They worked with us on pricing and got the job done quick. With the quality and detail they put into our house, not only was their work well worth it, it added greater value to our home itself.

We are so happy with the final results. It feels like a brand new house!!

Texans Shield Exterior Services
Texans Shield Exterior Services
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highly Recommend Texans Shield!

I hired Texans Shield through Thumbtack for a major renovation on:
- the front of my house
- back of my house
- pouring new concrete for my walkway and driveway
His work also includes replacing the front door, fixing load-bearing posts, updating fascia and soffit, and framing a new roof section over the awning.

From day one, they were super professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The crew did a fantastic job keeping everything clean and on schedule. They handled every detail with care — from pouring new concrete for the posts to sealing siding gaps and perfectly matching the paint. The new awning roof now channels water properly into the gutters, and the whole front of the house looks amazing!

The quality of work was top-notch, and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. If you’re looking for a reliable contractor on Thumbtack, I can’t recommend Texans Shield enough!

New Generation Contractors
New Generation Contractors
As first-time home buyers doing a complete house renovation project, New Generation Contractors is the perfect company to work with as they were flexible, patient, communicative, meticulous, and exceptionally responsive.

Flexible: We had a tight timeframe since our previous lease was running out, but Jerry and his team were able to work with our schedule/situation. Also with notice, NGC was able to work around the other contractors we had doing smaller jobs around the house. They were also flexible with our payment methods.

Patient: With it being our first house, we had a TON of questions about the process and/or if we noticed something a little off to us. NGC had no problem taking the time to explain and/or correcting any issues.

Communicative: Jerry was thorough in his explanations and if there was a potential issue, he would make sure to make you aware PRIOR to correcting it. We noticed some contractors will just do the bare minimum and attempt to patch it up/work around it until it becomes a possible problem later.

Meticulous: It became clear immediately that Jerry was very detail-oriented as he would catch things that we didn’t even notice or think of. This was one of my favorite things working with NGC as I have a very similar personality, and it taught me a lot just speaking to Jerry.

Responsive: After going through the house renovation process, I would absolutely say that this is the top quality to have as a contractor. In this market today contractors are extremely busy and I get it, but as a customer, you would want the people you are working with to be present (especially if you have an important, time-sensitive question). Jerry and his team were this and more. He would actually be at the site performing the work and not just send his guys to get the job done. If we needed something, he was just a text/call away and would get it figured out for us. We sincerely appreciated that and this is one of the main reasons why we will continue to work with NGC on future home projects.

We highly recommend New Generation Contractors and we hope this review helps you when looking for a contractor on any of your future home projects.

GEI RENOVATION GROUP
GEI RENOVATION GROUP
At first we were excited to work with Ido and GEI Renovation Group. The first time he visited on-site, we didn't have our plans in order. Rightfully so, Ido said we should talk once we had all our plans.

Fast forward about half a year. I sent a text message to Ido to see if he would still be interested in our small project as I finally had all the required plans and even pulled all required permits in the City of Houston. We met the next day and he went over all the plans. We were supposed to receive a quote about a week later. More than a month later, 3 or 4 emails sent, 4 follow-up text messages and absolutely no response.

A simple reply to ANY of those communication methods would have been nice. Even if to say he couldn't take on our project, his workload had increased too much, or the project was too small in scale.

Instead, we wasted valuable time trying to get a response and quote from someone who just isn't professional at communicating.

From Gottfried T.

GEI RENOVATION GROUP
GEI RENOVATION GROUP
This is a long overdue review, but we just bought our first house in June, 2020. I shortlisted a number of contractors and although he is not the cheapest, I decided to go with GEI and Ido for their positive reviews on Google and Thumbtack.

I appreciate that he's willing to work with my changing requests in the middle of a stressful pandemic and his crew did a great job in some of our most important projects: replacing our bowed ceiling and siding, as well as painting the new siding.

Although we only met a couple of times, communication was not an issue, and after speaking with his crew, I can see that he did a good job in treating his employees well which earned him their respect that translated to quality workmanship.

One important thing that I wished I had known was that they do not work on Saturday, which I fully respect that, but it has delayed our project and costed us a few days in hotel because they tore up the ceiling on Thursday/Friday and it was idle on the weekend. Had I known about it before, I would asked them to start the ceiling project on Monday so everything is done in one week.

Overall, I am happy with their delivery and would recommend you to at least check him out for your renovation projects.
