DJ MIK3 was great at our wedding! We asked for clean music and had a large range of ages (so a lot of different genres) and he did a great job at keeping everybody on their feet! If you want someone that actually cares about the people that he is playing for DJ MIK3 is your guy. He made sure the songs we wanted played as well as keeping people interested for the first dances and bouquet/garter tosses!

I was planning a destination wedding and Mike made it super easy! He was very communicative and responive. He was incredibly helpful and so talented! He not only played the music for our reception but also for the ceremony and provided a wireless mic for us to use for speeches and for the ceremony. We had the wedding out of a beach house, he setup one speaker on the patio under the house and setup speakers inside to ensure great sound. Everyone at the wedding loved the music selections. Everyone was dancing and loving the music. About 10 minutes from the end of our preset end time he asked if we wanted to extend it for an hour and was upfront with the costs. His prices are competitive, his professionalism is outstanding, he is incredibly talented, and made planning the entertainment part of the wedding easy. Making the choice to go with Elite Entertainment was one of the best decisions! I cannot recommend him enough!

James (DJ Mr Duke) is extremely professional and did absolutely fantastic at our wedding. He always communicated back right away, was flexible in the meet up location to pick up the USB pictures for the slideshow, and was able to edit the song I was walking down the aisle to- it was all perfect!

Kevin shot my daughter's bridal portraits and he was absolutely OUTSTANDING. When selecting someone to shoot bridal shots, I wanted to make sure we selected the perfect photographer to capture this once in a lifetime event. Kevin met those expectations and then some. He was very professional and really displayed his knowledge of capturing the right angle in order to produce the perfect photo. My daughter's wedding photos were stunning!! I would recommend Kevin to anyone who's looking for a great photographer at a great price!!

I hired JTM media for my wedding in October. From beginning to end Tiffany was fantastic. They're a husband and wife team but I dealt with Tiffany throughout the entire process. Their rates are very reasonable and their service was outstanding. Tiffany was very accommodating and gave me very good suggestions when I wasn't quite sure of the direction that I wanted to go. The engagement photos were great and I can't wait to see all the beautiful wedding shots and the video. I recommend JTM for your photography needs. So much so, I'm using them again for family Christmas pictures.

Sharon and her team provided videography services for a wedding for my clients in October. As an event planner, i was quite impressed with her follow thru and commitment to my detailed time line. Her experience as a director and producer added a sence of flair to our experience with her you won't get with other videographers in the wedding industry. I would highly recommend her again when it comes to shooting a wedding.

My very non-traditional daughter was able to have the very non-tranditonal ceremony that she wanted thanks to Cassandra's flexibility and high level of customer care! Cassandra exceeded my high expectations and made my very nervous daughter feel comfortable on her wedding day. Cassandra was outstanding and excellent in every way! I highly recommend her.

From the beginning, Michelle always asked thoughtful and relevant questions, had an eye for little details we would have inevitably overlooked, was kind and professional, and always went the extra step to try and bring everything together perfectly. From coordinating with our vendors to making sure everything went smoothly the day of, Michelle anticipated just about everything and made us feel relaxed, happy, and taken care of. Michelle does far more than "day of" coordination - and I cannot imagine that our wedding would have come together at all without her. But because of her, it was the most beautiful, unique, and special weekend that all our family and friends are still talking about.

My husband and i hired DJ X for our wedding reception! Wow! He is such a professional and made the process seamless and uncomplicated! He is well-prepared ahead of time and takes pride in quality work. He played every song we wanted plus mixed it up with several more awesome jams that kept the dance floor hot all evening! I highly recommend him and he will be the only DJ I hire in the future! You get much more than just someone to play your songs with DJ X, you get a truly genuine expert who will enhance the mood of your event tremendously. If you want to feel confident about how you spent your money, go with DJ X, you and your guests will be glad you did!

We hired D NICE to play music for our wedding ceremony and reception. The wedding was at our house, so he met with us several months in advance and had a great idea on how he would light the space. Everything went really well that evening, the blue accent lights looked amazing with our decor and he kept our guests dancing all night. Thanks for helping us have such a memorable evening!

She was so great!!!! She came to my hotel room before my wedding! She knocked out 5 bridesmaids and my hair in 3.5 hours. She even knows a lovely lady who does makeup! They were both amazing and I recommended them both to my cruise wedding coordinator at carnival! The hair she did withstood a monsoon and two hours in the car and still looked great!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
