Exceptional work! Knowledgeable, timely and caring. Get this, I called over a handful of roofers and Silverado Roofing was the "Only roofer" who responded, came by or "did not" pushed me aside...

As most people have to come to find out there are a ton of so-called "roofing companies" in san Antonio. Trying to find the right one is a difficult task and sometimes you have to use your intuition. Originally, I had passed on Queta Construction for my roof replacement because all the positive reviews were for fencing. I sent a message saying just that. Henry kindly replied letting me know the 25+ experience his partner, Kenny, has in that field and, promising I would be impressed. I decided to take him up on his challenge and, hired Queta Construction to replace my 2700sq ft. roof. The estimate was very reasonable and, he was able to start immediately working around my schedule. Two crews totaling 7 men started on Thursday morning and finished on Friday afternoon. A day and a half! The quality of work is amazing and, the professionalism provided by Henry and his team were outstanding. I am using them for another roofing project now and, my coworker has hired them too. I am so thankful I was able to find an honest, hardworking company. I highly recommend them!

The roofers did a good job, and cleaned up for themselves reasonably well. The decking for the garage was 1 X 8 boards, and there was one that should have been replaced, but wasn't. When I brought it to Ricky's attention, he said that he would have someone come look at it. No one came to look at it before we sold the house about 10 days later. Then, we had the gutters and down spouts replaced, and there were pieces of old gutter left on our deck and in our yard (2-3 pieces a foot long or smaller). There were also a number of nails in our driveway after the gutters were done. We finally had facia replaced, and they I'd a good job on the facia. Overall, everything (aside from the piece of decking) looked great when they were done, and Ricky was very friendly and professional.

I cannot say enough about Adrienne and this company. They took care of all my needs. I was in the process of selling my home and Adrienne took care of every need from roofing, plumbing, electrical, A/C, and even had the house cleaned. She saved me from having to call a list of different companies to get things done. She also had everything completed in under a week, I have never worked with a company that has completed work so fast, amazing quality of work and at a reasonable price.

I had my roof replaced. Larry was very prompt in returning our calls and getting our estimate to us. They got to work within just a few days and had the job completed in less than a week despite bad weather and material issues. The roofers were very professional. They went above and beyond to do a good job. I recommend them highly.

Needing a roofer to help with some repairs to singles that were damaged after high winds came through. I gave Texas Family a call and asked for a estimate. Paul was great over the phone and was able to schedule a appointment with me the following day to come out to inspect my roof. After going over the damage and providing a estimate of repair cost, we agreed on the price to have the repairs completed. Texas Family showed up within the time frames they said they would and completed the repairs. I was impressed by how quick the work was completed. Would recommend Texas Family and their great work.

Since I had not previously heard of KAS Contracting I was not sure what to expect. I was referred to Thumbtack by a friend who knew I wanted to find a good and reputable roofer without breaking the bank. To this end, I really liked what I read when reviewing KAS Contracting so I thought I would give them a try, and I have not been disappointed. Here are some of the reasons why: 1. Communication - these folks are great at it! From their first contact to the check-ins after the job is completed, you will always know what is going on and where things are during the process. 2. Honesty - they tell you everything . . . I mean EVERYTHING. I never got the feeling that they were trying to hide anything. When I left work early and showed up somewhat unexpectedly on the job, the site foreman (Erik) was genuinely glad to see me and was clearly comfortable with my presence and my questions. He had all the confidence of a man that knew his crew was doing the job right. 3. Integrity - I was told from the start what the company was going to do and they did everything they said they would and more. Not one thing was left unaddressed. Also, the contract was not filled to the brim with lawyer-ese. It was simple, straightforward, easy to grasp, and not designed to trip up the client. 4. Customer/Client Focus - they walk with you every step of the way. In my case, they communicated with my insurance company and maximized the payout for the job. This was good business for them and resulted in a better roof for me. I could cite other things but this hopefully paints enough of a picture. KAS Contracting is a company of excellence, they will treat you right, and I commend them to anyone who needs roof work!

I hired Arran Greenleaf to repair a very complicated spot on my roof that was damaged due to leaf buildup and moisture retention. Of all of the roofers that came out to give an estimate, Arran was the most professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. The outcome of the project meets my expectations for a customized solution to my challenging roof problem at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this company for their technical excellence and fair prices! I will be calling Arran back when it is time to replace my roof.

I enjoyed the professionalism I had with Joe. He went out of his way to help me understand how the procedures work in getting a new roof for my home. I was just mentally confused of what I was going to do after hurricane harvey almost blew my roof off. All other roof repairs company/workers just wanted to see how much my insurance would pay to get my roof done and my deductible. I thought that was not right it made it seem like they were just after money. Not Joe he sat with me and carefully and slowly explained to me the processes and what I should look for and what I want out of a new roof. He also took the time to explain “the letter” the other roofers were asking for. I was truly impressed by all the ‘out of his way’ explaining showing he did and did not ask for one cent. He also had samples of the shingles I could choose from and how each shingle felt and the explained the warranty very well. it was exciting to finally get my roof in the process of repair. Joe kept close contact with me when he received updates on my insurance information and as soon as they got an approval my roof was done in less than two days. Joe also took the time to help me pick out the right color shingle even showing me pictures of houses of the shingles he was showing me on how it would look. Joe made sure I had all the paperwork warranty I needed for my records he even sat with me and we called the company who handled the warrant so I can make sure I was registered. Joe was awesome and it was a blessing to have meet him I didn’t feel cheated or used and definitely not pressured. By the way he worked with me on my deductible which was a super plus. I would recommend Joe for all your roofing/construction needs. Not everyday you come across someone who ‘just wants to help and go the right thing’ Instead of just using you taking your money and leaving. Joe is the guy you looking for. No regrets.

Roofer was great. He contacted me within minutes of the Thumbtack post. Looked at my roof and estimated the same day. Performed work the following day. I looked at the work myself, and it was great. I had tried finding other roofers online, they were too busy. It was a small repair job and he didn't ask for payment until job was complete. I am blown away how fast and pain-free this was. Recommending this roofer to my friends and family.

Just wanted to give a big shoutout to DRI team! Chris and Logan were awesome to work with. They made the process so much easier than if I had to handle the insurance company. They were VERY knowledgeable of how the insurance company handles the claims. They made the claim and worked with them until the end. Very professional and friendly. They put a top notch roof on and their roofers cleaned up afterwards. Didn't find one nail! Others in the neighborhood loved Jordan as well and all felt he was trustworthy and very knowledgeable. I'm in the process of purchasing a investment property and have already called Jordan to assist me with replacing the roof!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

        • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
          • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
        • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
        • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
        • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
        • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
