“It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I don’t think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. My daughters now look forward to their piano practice daily”. Great Falls, VA Resident

My daughter has been taking private flute lessons with Angela over Skype for almost two years. Angela is very knowledgeable and has a supportive instructional style; she is always very positive and encouraging, as well as flexible and punctual. My daughter has progressed wonderfully under Angela's tutelage. The flexibility Skype affords us is ideal and we have had minimal issues with the technology. If you are looking for private music lessons, you can’t go wrong with Angela!

I have studied flute with Ms. Allen since 2010. She is a great flutist and an excellent flute teacher. I am working toward going to graduate school in flute performance and through following her guidance, she has helped me to greatly improve my performance skills as well as my knowledge of flute repertoire, music theory and music history in every way. I cannot thank her enough for her help. Eric L.

Amanda is an outstanding teacher. She inspires and challenges me to play pieces I did not think I could play. She is able to take difficult passages and break them down step by step so I can learn how to play them properly. I am sure I would not be playing as I am now, if it weren’t for Amanda’s skilled teaching. She is also friendly, makes the lessons interesting and fun and is very professional.

About

I have been working in the field of music education for 25 years. I am an expert at working with beginners on the piano, or any band or orchestra instrument. I teach the student not only how to play their chosen instrument, but music theory and related concepts.

About

My students excel in performance and in achieving their goals. By learning to play well, and developing a performance mindset, they enjoy playing with others about their age usually, and competitively for groups they would like to join. There is fun just for the sake of music making itself.

Most of my students pursue music lessons for to increase their eligibility and scholarships to music programs in college. Other students learn simply for the enjoyment of music. However, all of my students receive training in music theory and ear training too. For those students who are interested, I also offer them opportunities to explore entrepreneurship as a musician.
