Walt is a very nice guy and his facility has a good variety of both cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance workout equipment. He introduces many activities that can be easily replicated at home with inexpensive equipment. Then again, he has equipment that you would only have access to in a fitness facility (heavy ropes, punch/kick bags, rebounder, treadmill, recumbent bike, stepper). I have only had 3 sessions and look forward to a progressive program that will challenge me and result in weight loss and toning.
Mr. Gunn is more to me than just a trainer. He has helped me turn my life around. Our journey together began in weight loss and fitness. With his personal training and motivation I lost weight and inches. When I was ready, he assisted me with switching into gaining muscle tone. That is not all he helped me gain though. More importantly, he helped me gain self confidence that I would have never believed could be possible. For all of these reasons, I would highly recommend Mr. Gunn as a person to join forces with in losing, or gaining, the important things in life through fitness. I can't thank him enough for all he has done for me!
My teenage daughter and I initially met Winfrey through one of his summer boot camp sessions. We were so out of shape and could barely keep up. Winfrey was patient and took time out to work with us. The workouts were challenging yet fun. We were motivated to stay in the 8 week class and even signed up for personal training since then. I've always enjoyed running but wasnt able to because I was over weight and didnt enjoy running anymore. I'm happy to say that I'm now able to run 5 miles and have lost close to 20 lbs since then. Before, workouts were never fun but with Julie she totally takes intimidating factor out squats or push-ups and makes the entire workout worthwhile. She pushes you forward to do better and helps with nutrition (a major plus!). She is more like a friend than an actual coach so you don't feel intimated but excited to go to your next workout and feel the burn. Another big plus is that she goes with measurements, not weight. It's a foreign concept but it actually makes a lot of sense. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to lose weight and have fun while doing it!

Lisa pushes me harder during workouts than I push myself, which produces results. She offers a variety of workouts and changes workout routines (indoors and outdoors) to make it challenging. She encourages me to make fitness part of my daily life. I've used "myfitnesspal.com" to record daily calories and exercises - good tool for daily tracking. After nine months in two of her "Biggest Loser" groups, I lost 38 lbs! I felt so much better. Lisa then suggests a maintenance plan to keep the weight off. I've met lots of friends while working out at Taking shape over the past five years. We've exchanged healthy recipes, encourage each other, shared success stories, etc. during our weight loss/fitness journey.

I'm wasn't a big "going to the gym guy" but I love my experience with Renall as my trainer! Over the past 2 years my wife and I have been hopping from gym to gym to boot camp...finally we found Body Control Gym and Renall. It has now been over a year with him as my personal trainer and I am healthier and stronger than I ever though I would be! He takes a very personal approach and designs his training regimen to fit each person's abilities and needs and then he builds you up, and it works! I can't imagine training with anyone else! Every session is a challenge, but is also fun because he mixes up the exercises to keep your body guessing what is next. I love it!
When I made arrangements for Karen to come over for the first time, I was a bit uneasy. I had never hired a personal trainer to come into my home before. I was mainly looking for someone to help me lose a few pounds before my wedding; I was NOT looking for a 'boot camp instructor' type of trainer. As soon as I met Karen, I was very much at ease. Her fitness interests and qualifications were exactly what I was looking for. She quickly came up with an exercise plan for me that was effective, but not overwhelming or exhausting. She has a very friendly demeanor, and explains and demonstrates exercises very well without being intimidating or 'bossy'. Even though she has a busy schedule, she has been flexible and accommodating when scheduling times to come to my house. I have also been going to her pilates class at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, which I love! I feel like a get a good workout without being sore the next day. I would definitely recommend her to someone who has similar fitness/weight loss goals as I do.
