I had Topgun come out to look at installing a new hose bib in my backyard. I told the technician that I thought it was very odd that there wasn’t a hose bib in the backyard and that it would make sense if there was one under the kitchen sink. The tech went under the house in the crawlspace and looked for pipes that might indicate where a hose bib would be/could be installed. He also looked under the deck and said that there was just a drain pipe there. He charged me $138 for the trip fee and sent me an estimate for $1400 to install a new hose bib under the kitchen sink. a couple of days later, I had someone out looking at repairing some siding and repainting the exterior of my house. I’ve hired him before and he is an exceptional person and craftsman. He looked under the deck and it immediately said you already have a husband there. He went to the deck under the kitchen sink and lifted, exposing the existing hose bib. There was absolutely no reason to install another one right above it. I had no idea it was there, but TopGun Plumbing knew it was there. And yet he was going to charge me to install a new one. Bad business. Very unethical.
