I started taking lessons with Steve in April 2014. I wasn't brand new to guitar, but I was still a beginner. Steve is my first formal instructor and I couldn't be happier with his teaching style. Bottom line, guitar is a skilled discipline. It's a lot more than strumming chords or picking notes. It's time consuming and can be difficult at times. If it's something you just want to dabble in, Steve's probably not your guy. If you want to work hard on being a guitar player and learn music, Steve is your guy.

My 8 year old son and I have been taking piano lessons from Chris for the past 8 months. We are both seeing a great improvement in our playing! Chris has the ability to pinpoint just what needs to be worked on. He is very passionate about music and conveys that in his quiet but motivational demeanor. He also uses the technique of professionally recording pieces once they are mastered. Plus, he brings his guitar or violin to the lessons and plays duets with us. It makes me feel like a real musician. Without reservations, I can highly recommend Chris as a very patient and competent teacher.

Travis is really a great guitar instructor. I have been taking lessons with him for almost one year now and can really tell my guitar playing skills have improved a lot. He always tries to make lessons fun as well as challenging, during the past months i have learned new chords, scales, strumming patterns and a few great songs. Travis is very patient and always willing to help me learn how to play the music i am interested in (trust me, if he doesn't know the song or the music style he'll do the research!!). I highly recommend Travis Ziegler for both beginners and advanced guitar players.

I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Dave as a guitar instructor. He offers such a range of flexibility to what I am wanting to learn, and in my desired genre, at a pace I am comfortable with. He works scheduled lessons within the hours I have available and offers his input on what to work on in between lessons to better my skills in areas that are more challenging. While listening to his own original songs I also found him to be the perfect fit for playing at our wedding reception. He offered to play specific requests but we felt completely comfortable leaving it up to him. He played beautifully and instinctively knew what suited the occasion. If anyone is looking for a great guitar instructor I highly suggest Dave!

Paul is really an amazing teacher. He has a lot of knowledge and expertise and is a great at helping me with the struggles of being a beginner guitarist. I would highly recommend his services and since he runs a studio if you want to record he is your guy!

Patty and Jestin are very friendly and have opened their musical home to my 10 yr old daughter who is quite shy. She loves her weekly lessons and they are both extremely educated in music. They both play multiple instruments. She has learned a lot in the last 4 months plus. This couple, which I would highly recommend, are very hip and take onto kids as if they were their own. I love how they teach and how easily my child retains the information. They also are very easy going on missed lessons (sorry) and rescheduling! Thanks Patty & Jestin for spreading your musical talents!

My son has been taking guitar lessons with Mr. Ross for two years. Not only has he enjoyed learning jazz and rock, but his playing has greatly improved. I would highly recommend him as a teacher.

    About

I am a private instructor on several instruments as well as a performing solo guitarist, singer songwriter who often performs in duos, trios and bands. TEACHING I specialize in acoustic guitar music, solo instrumental guitar and also teach beginning piano, electric bass, ukelele, and some electric guitar styles. I received my BFA - Guitar Performance from UW-Milwaukee and WI Conservatory of Music. Becoming a musician is a process that anyone can follow. Whether you want to better understand music in theory, learn a particular song or even just focus on a key phrase or lick, I can lead you through the steps to developing musical skill and ability. I'll also make the process enjoyable and fun. I offer weekly and on-call lessons in my studio. I can also make arrangements to teach you in your home, within a ten-mile radius of HeadStock Music or on days that I'm performing in your area. Lessons are also available online through Skype. PERFORMANCE While at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music I specialized in American fingerstyle guitar. I play solo guitar pieces, commonly referred to as classical guitar, however I play on a steel string acoustic and the music is a mix of American music styles: folk, jazz, rock, blues and country. My strongest instrument has always been my voice and I initially studied guitar to be better accompany myself. I enjoy songs from blues, folk, rock, country and jazz styles. I am also a writer and enjoy singing my own songs in a concert/ house concert settings. In most background situations I favor familiar popular songs from multiple eras with a few originals thrown into the mix. Currently, I play solo under my own name, and in The Mugs; a blues folk trio with guitar, mandolin and harmonica. Occasionally I sing in a folk harmony duo called the Sugar Daddies but mainly I'm out doing a hundred plus solo guitar and song performances a year. I've also done some side projects in a Replacements cover band and an Eagles cover band. Visit my website to hear musical samples.

My daughter participated in guitar lessons from Mike for a few years and had excellent results. Not only did she learn the fundamentals of the instrument and key methodologies, but she also learned to have fun with it and how to work independently on her skillset. Her love of music and ability to pick up a guitar and learn a new song continues to this day and is all because of the skills and confidence she built and obtained during her time attending lessons with Mike. I couldn't recommend him as a teacher highly enough. His approach is unique and perfect for anyone looking to learn from a different perspective than what you would expect from any other cookie cutter music school type curriculum.

      About

I teach guitar. I've been playing guitar for 20 years. I'm 33 years old and have taught guitar to friends and family in the past. Then someone in the songwriters' group I lead, here in Beaver Dam, asked if I would teach her daughter, and I did. So now I'm expanding.

I teach guitar and music to those who want to learn. Nothing in life worth doing is easy; this is true for the guitar. It takes time, patience, and a sense of wonder. Music is a beautiful thing. It is one of the best things, and it will stay with you forever.

      About

I have been playing guitar, bass and keyboard most of my life. I help run a service industry business for a living but, I like to do music in my free time. I am looking to help people learn how to play and give them the band setting. I also have a lot of my own equipment here, so if they travel to me, they wouldn't really need to bring any equipment saving them time and hassle. I can travel to them and bring my own equipment as well. It would give them a formal and informal training on what it's like to learn music and be in a band.

      About

I've been playing the guitar for over 20 years. Let me teach you the basics on becoming a great guitarist.

      About

I teach guitar lessons. I love blues, rock, folk, some other interesting styles in the independent and "cult-following" genres. I am not as comfortable with jazz. I would do an even exchange if someone wanted to learn something from me I would take jazz lessons. I believe 45 minutes for a guitar lesson is perfectly reasonable, but if someone wanted to go longer or shorter we can get into contact and figure that out.

      About

I have been playing drums and percussion for 12 years now and am very experienced reading and improvising. I have also been playing guitar for over 15 years now, and I have given lessons in the past.
