Bonnie Lou serenaded all the family as we celebrated our Mother's 90th birthday Sunday June 18. In keeping with our Spanish theme Bonnie Lou entertained us with classical Spanish guitar tunes and exceptional ukulele music. We even sang Happy Birthday to Mom as she strummed the ukulele. Because of Bonnie Lou our Mother's birthday was wonderful and memorable.
Before our son began guitar lessons with Jeff, he got very good, competent lessons from other private instructors as well as those affiliated with the very impressive ASU music department. But Jeff’s individualized approach has been decidedly different. Recognizing that our 10 year old has areas of music that motivate him to stay excited and engaged, he always keeps the fun parts as the backbone of the learning process. This past weekend, he eagerly and proudly showed me the importance of knowing a variety of scales (major, minor, mixolydian, pentatonic, blues, etc.) and how he can use them to create music of his own. Talk about impressive! We can’t recommend Jeff more highly!
I have had guitar lessons from Reggie Chavez now for over four years. I started with Reggie without any knowledge or previous training on guitar at the age of 58 . Reggie has literally opened a new door to me to the wonderful experience of the playing a musical instrument. I have learned the fundamentals and then learned how to play songs. Reggie has inspired me to play live with other guitarists confidently. Best of all, Reggie instructs in a way that is relaxed, and gives me constructive feedback in a reassuring way, never harsh or in a way I feel bad. He is the best !
I began taking guitar lessons with John and have been very happy with his knowledge. His expertise really shows with every lesson. I definitely recommend him for any guitar level!!
Quick and easy to coordinate piano lessons for my six year old.
Ryan is currently teaching my fraternal twins the acoustic guitar. The lessons take place in his home where he has a studio. He is a nice, young man. He is very talented and has been playing for about 10 years and because of that, I know he is well trained. He is easy to get along with and takes his time. He really cares about his teaching. My twins like going to get their lessons. And the most important thing to mevis that they are learning to play the acoustic guitar! He is a really good teacher and makes them feel like they are experts when they just started to play. Thank you, Ryan. Keep up the good work!
I am a pianist and organist and have studied classical guitar with Maryanne for some time. She is an excellent teacher and supreme artist!! She is extremely knowledgable, patient, and understands how to clearly explain techniques and nuances with great expertise. I couldn't recommend Maryanne more highly and with definite confidence! Jim Buchanan, Sedona, AZ
I was brand new to guitar when I started lessons with Richard. He is great at taking things at the pace you need and being patient with a new student. He is also very flexible with schedule and length of lessons, so you can work lessons into a busy schedule. His knowledge of music theory was evident in his instruction, and he imparted this information at appropriate times as I learned the practical side of playing. I enjoyed our lessons, as I felt like I made progress, but they were fun at the same time. Richard is very receptive of your input and the direction you want lessons to go. He'll focus on what you want to learn and the songs you want to learn. Overall, I was impressed with his skill and ability to teach, and would highly recommend him!
I believe, there is a significant difference between a Coach & a Teacher. Both should be well-versed in Basic fundamental standards & both should keep abreast of technological advancements that amend & add to those standards along the way, but a Good Coach knows, He not only has to excel at instilling those good ol' fundamentals, standards & new upgrades, He also knows "he must first get the attention, approval, & respect of the individual he works with, to find & bring out the best in them". I've been a student at The Drummer's Den for almost 3 years. I'm difficult to work with because, I was born with learning difficulties, Dyslexia & ADHD included. I won't reveal my age but, Believe me when I say "I've been through the gamut when it comes to experiences with Teachers & Coaches." When standards are the bottom line, you're a Teacher. When a solid rudimentary foundation, personal creativity, individual &/or group advancement & achievement are taken into consideration, along with the bottom line, you are a Coach😛‼️ Coach Bryan Hawkesworth at The Drummer's Den applies all the important fundamentals but with humanity❗️ He Coaches with patience & understanding, He respects individual differences & seeks out new presentation methods. (If I don't understand one perspective he can pitch another one, or more, until I get it😁‼️He listens to me, let's me Play & try new things that I like‼️ From Rudiments through Rock, & Jazz, & on to something new from there. Don't be fooled by the name of the place. I'm a Drummer learning drums & Cajon but, eventually maybe I'll move on to Guitar. I can choose to start with Bass (which might be easier) or I can try Lead guitar & see how it goes. I Got all my equipment right there on site. Bryan Special orders from any Drum or Hardware manufacturer that I choose👍. He listens & Helps me with choices & options❗️ I'm older & wiser than I used to be & that's a good thing but, more importantly this whole experience of learning a new skill, having someone listen about what's important to me & help with music decisions, gave me something I never expected to have, A level of self-esteem, self-worth, & confidence that (I'm sure) you can only achieve from really Great Coaching & Great personal customer service😁‼️✌️ M R Harmon
Roger comes to my house each week to give my 12-year-old son acoustic guitar lessons. He is extremely patient and my son, actually all of us just love him. Within a lesson or two Roger had him doing scales and reading music, he's now playing songs and sounds pretty good. Highly recommend Roger to any musician!
Alex has really made an impression on my 7 yo son and he has only had two lessons. He practices guitar nearly every day and is showing me how to play without getting my thumb lasered off. (This is apparently what happens if one’s thumb is visible above the neck). Alex is very good with my son even though his attention span is short. He is showing him the correct way to hold and play the guitar and my son is really enjoying the lessons. So far, Alex has been very conscientious and reliable. I would certainly recommend him as a guitar instructor.
We have been taking guitar lessons from Tom Wray (GuitarTommy) for almost 3 years now. His knowledge and ability to teach always instills in us a desire to learn more and play better. He starts our lessons on time, but more importantly, he stresses the fundamentals. He's very professional. We highly recommend him for all age groups. He's GREAT!

I went to two other guitar teachers and never learned as quickly as I did with Ryan. I really enjoyed how fun and easy he made learning guitar and I will definitely be continuing lessons with him.
Whether you're an advanced player looking to expand your music or a hungry beginner, I will teach you all styles of music from Abba to Zappa. We will also cover live performance setups, songwriting, gear and FX, music theory, and much more!
I teach basic and intermediate guitar. I also teach classical and folk technique. I can teach you to strum along, Travis pick, read notes and tablatures. I can help you find an instrument that fits you, and your needs. If I can't teach you what you need, then I can find someone who can. I've been playing and teaching for 30 years.
I focus on what the individual student wants to learn in the long term and guide him on their path to achieving those goals.
I teach chord progressions, guitar tablature, tuning, scales, and lead techniques. I do improvisation on creativity.
I'll give you the ability to learn songs that you want to learn. With in-home teaching, there is more opportunity for improvement because the student feels more comfortable at home.
I am one person teaching multiple children on multiple instruments. I get siblings to play music together and absolutely love it. I have abundant proof of typical results that i get at the website provided. I have many, many more youtube channels filled with my students videos. Getting one child to play numerous instruments is my forte.
