I have been to other Personal Trainer's before. I have gone to enough to get a general idea of what to expect. Before meeting Matt, and visiting Underground Fitness I was completely expecting the "car salesman" pitch. I expected to walk into the gym during my first free session and workout for maybe 35-40 minutes then be taken to a big old desk and sold a pile of packages I could not afford. My expectations were shattered, and Underground Fitness broke the Personal Training stereotype for many reasons. First, I explained to Matt my personal goals (shed the fat, tone, and look good for my wedding that was 6 weeks away). Matt listened and was excited to take on the challenge. Second, Underground Fitness offers two free sessions which includes a nutrition plan breakdown. And can we talk about the nutrition plan? Without revealing their secrets it is COMPLETELY attainable and you do not have to buy special meals or starve yourself. Third, Matt Hoodie, the owner, is a walking success story. Matt has been where most of us have been and currently are. He lost a mountain of weight and has shaped his body to what most of us believe to be ideal. His education in Dietetics and Exercise Science offers much more than meets to eye because he can explain his motives behind certain things and teach us what we are doing wrong. Overall, I will never go anywhere else for my personal training needs. I still have a long road ahead of me, however for the first time ever after meeting a trainer I felt like my goals were achievable in within reasonable reach.
Ivan was great he had exceptional knowledge of trading in the areas I needed I could always count on Ivan to kick my butt everymorning especially if I missed a session which was not very often. He didn't just know the training aspect of it he also new the recovery process how to speed it up and he was extremely knowledgeable of the nutritional side of it as well. Ivan definitely is well rounded in his training. Ty you better hang out on to that one he's great. The only thing I'm upset with is that I had to stop using Ivan I loved to Vegas so Ivan if you ever come to Vegas you better look me up !!!

After speaking with a few trainers around the valley, Eddie seemed to have the right "feel" about his experience and his plan. After spending a few sessions with him, I can tell that he genuinely cares about my success and has the knowledge and experience to target the areas that need to be hit. He has taken the time to evaluate where I'm at rather than just throwing some generic exercises my way, and this will lead to a workout plan that is customized to me and my body. He runs the full gamut from evaluation, to nutrition planning, to targeting specific areas. He is kind in his manner and likes to encourage, but he will also give you the straight scoop if you ask him. He is a little more expensive than some of the others I've seen, but he is hands on in a 1:1 setting, and there are no extra fees (for gym membership, what-have-you). He is also extremely fair about his cancellation policy, and is willing to work with his clients if something comes up that prevents attendance.

I've worked with Derek for the past eight months and found him to be really easy to talk to and extremely supportive of my goals. Sierra Rich, for me, is the best personal trainer I could have ever hoped for. She has been my trainer for approximately 18 months and the 3rd trainer I have worked with over the past 3 1/2 years. I have been lucky to have great trainers to work with; however, Sierra has set herself apart with so many things that other trainers don't do. She makes me feel like I am her only client when we work together and I have her undivided attention. So many trainers I see are locked onto their cell phones during training and not focused on their clients. Not Sierra. She is extremely technical and focuses on my technique to make sure I am "firing" on all the correct muscle groups during each exercise. Her workouts are never the same and you can tell she is continually researching how to make my plan unique and interesting. I think most importantly, I feel like we connect with regard to how each of us are driven toward the same goals for ourselves. Because she understands me so much, she knows all of my "push" buttons. Things like, "you can reduce the weight if you need to" means to me I will NEVER reduce the weight! Instead, it drives me to even greater strength goals. I am sure she handles each client differently. She simply knows how to motivate me to greater accomplishments that I never thought I could achieve. When we first met, I told Sierra she was in charge of my body from the "neck down". What I didn't expect was how much she would impact my thinking of my overall physical lifestyle from the "neck up"! To me, that is the greatest achievement you can reach as a professional in any field. I consider her not only a great trainer, but a great friend. I have all of the equipment, including exercise ball, medicine ball, Bowflex 1090 dumbbells, exercise mat, light, medium, and heavy exercise bands, ab roller, Iron Gym pull up bar, body weight exercise straps, and a Bowflex scale that measures body weight, body fat%, as well as hydration level. However, if a client of mine is uncomfortable with me training them out of their home, or does not have the space for me to do so, I also do personal training out of an exercise facility by the name of AZ On The Rocks at 16447 N. 91st Street Suite 105, or can train out of gyms near my clients as long as they permit it. I do the initial assessment free, and then have packages starting at 13 sessions.
