David was very knowledgeable and patient. I was extremely impressed that he was able to address unforeseen issues quickly and efficiently. He explained everything through the process and even suggested helpful and informative tidbits along the way. David is a good person, great attitude and personality. I am hesitant to bring people I don't know around family but almost immediately was put at ease. The faucet we purchased did not have all the necessary gear to properly connect to the inputs from the house. David new exactly what was needed and sent me out to get the supplies. I returned with wrong parts and he took it upon himself to drive down with me and get the gear himself at no extra charge and more importantly no change in attitude. All around you cannot go wrong using David's services, awesome guy. The quality of the work was top notch. There is nothing more valuable than experience and this guy is full of it. David was extremely professional, he put us at ease immediately with his great personality. Regarding responsiveness, we were contacted immediately and David maintained communication with us throughout the process. Regarding value, you cannot go wrong using David's services. The price given was well below the that of what I have paid in the past. While the price was lower the quality was much higher...very rare. Had we went with a plumbing contractor we would have paid 4 times no doubt. Punctuality was on point. David arrived at the time we had scheduled.

I was reluctant to go through the perceived hassle of having a tech come out for an in-person estimate, but it was well worth it. Judd was fantastic!! He spotted an important issue (from a across the room) with a out-of-code valve that several others had missed. Further, Judd went out of his way to accommodate our difficult and short notice time/scheduling needs on 2 separate visits. He is extremely knowledgeable and getting the job done right is important to him. Costs were very reasonable and in-line for a licensed plumbing contractor.

Carlos was personable and responsive. I had a lot going on with a full home remodel job and he was great about working with my schedule and other contractors as well. He did everything from replacing toilets and faucets, to installing water and drain lines. He checked everything over for me and recommended some things I hadn't considered but needed to be done. He gave me a fair price for what he did. It was actually a great price because I trusted him and I was gone a lot and is hard to put a value on knowing the person working in your home is honest. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Carlos for a job well done!

I'm so glad I called Mike to fix our bathroom faucets that we tried unsuccessfully to put in ourselves. He undid what we had started and got them both working perfectly. I texted him on Sunday night and he was here first thing the next morning. He was very professional and reasonably priced.

Ronnie showed up on time, was knowledgeable and efficient about fixing the problems we presented: installation of a shower fixture that required tile drilling, replacing rollers on a shower door, and repairing a bad electrical outlet. Will definitely be calling him in the future!

HCN did a great job renovating my bathroom. They installed a new vanity with a vessel sink and installed tile on the floor and backsplash. While they were working on that my garbage disposal went out and they were kind enough to fix that too!

John was wonderful. This project started out as a simple replace some patio wood that had some water damage. It turned into a LOT more than that. John kept with it the whole way, helping us save money where we could. But, the project ended up costing 7 or 8 times more than we had anticipated. Not because of anything John did, but because of how bad the water damage was. John got it fixed using some sub-contractors for painting and roof work, with no problem. Great job John! I highly recommend him for your project! Scott M.

The initial call appointment was professional, courteous and prompt. The leak consisted of a burst hot water supply pipe. I had no water leakage inside my home and the burst pipe was located under my kitchen floor which happens to be concrete. Angry Pipe solutions did a great job removing tile, cutting the floor, repairing the Main Bath and kitchen manifolds and running new hot and cold water pipes to my kitchen Island. Cutting concrete is extremely dusty and If I had to do it again I would ask to Isolate the affected area better from the rest of my home. All in all I am pleased with the repairs Angry Pipe Solutions did. I would recommend them to a friend. Great job Guys

AJ's was a hidden gem. I am living in Las Vegas, and they were remodeling a property I own in the Tempe area. With the constraint of not being able to visit the property often, I was worried about quality when using a contractor. Jorge and Armando, not only took that worry away, they made recommendation along the way such as paint color, tile, moving drain location in shower, and rasing shower head. I could tell right away, that their biggest concern was my satisfaction, not only with their work, but with my house as well. I had picked out a paint color for the interior, and Jorge said " I'll paint it whatever color you want, but I would suggest using this color with this trim". At this point he had already completed remodeling two of my bathrooms, and from that excellent work, I could tell he had a better eye than I did. I used his color choices, and I could not have been happier. What I was most impressed though was how he not only avoided shortcuts, he went above and beyond to ensure his work was perfect. I have used a lot of contractors in the past, and I have seen a lot of shortcuts that sometimes take years to find out. With Jorge and Amando, I can say that I would fully trust any work they have done for me, and will do for me in the future. They were also the most cleanly contractors I have ever used, every work area was emasculate, cleaner than even before they began work. I would highly recommend them if you want the highest quality at a fair price, and workmanship you can trust.

from the beginning I have asked ONE STEP REPAIR just to take off the old tile in a kitchen, corridors and living room. The Handyman - looking good intelligent gentleman came perfectly in time with a huge industrial demo hammer and scraped all tile just in one step ( it took about 4 hours). after he did that he spent two more hours for picking up the trush and vacuuming the area. Price was just excellent for this kind of hard job and big area, plus he worked faster then 2 people. After that work we asked to do one more job for us and he did it just perfect!! plus gave us discount and replaced garden water faucet as a compliment. I definitely recommend these guys and for sure gonna stay with this company in a future!

Reiner installed some new toilet flanges and centered a shower drain for a remodel. Work was done quickly, Reiner followed through on the schedule and actually saved me on the agreed cost due to the fact that he did the job so quickly. I will definitely use him again for more plumbing fixes on this remodel.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
