Jiri and his team were very professional and worked hard the entire time. They finished moving my room much faster than I anticipated and we were able to get most of my apartment moved out in the time remaining. I had a positive experience with Santos and Edgar from Two Friends Movers who helped move my one-bedroom apartment to San Francisco (between 25 and 30 miles out). They were easy to work with and in good disposition, and made the the moving process that much better. Thanks to Santos, I was able to request 2 movers and negotiate the minimum charge down from 3 hours to 2 hours, which helped as it took 2.5 hours from arrival to invoice, (with 30-40 minutes of driving). I took care of all but the larger pieces of furniture and around 5 heavy boxes/bags independently from Two Friends to minimize the charge, so there weren't too many things we were actually transporting that day. Both Santos and Edgar were nice and accommodating in my requests throughout the move, although I communicated mostly with Santos as Edgar was not fluent in English. Not a problem whatsoever, and perhaps a note to myself to start learning Spanish :) For example, I requested that extra blankets and wrap be put on the legs of my work desk and bed frame backboard which weren't covered, and Santos took care of it promptly and without hesitation. The hourly rate for two movers is on the cheaper side compared to the other quotes I received on Thumbtack, but I did notice they make up for it in materials fees for packing tape and plastic wrap—something to be aware of when estimating. The materials cost in my case ran me an extra $75. A note to the wise: it's a good idea to make sure you have the sum of money in cash or personal check handy, as the 5% processing fee also applies to debit cards. I ended up running (literally) to the ATM and back to get cash when I realized my checkbook was left at my old place. Overall, I was satisfied with my move with Two Friends and would hire them again.
The guys came over earlier than expected so I wasn't quite done packing, but they were so great about it!! They looked at the apartment, strategized, and then went on a roll. I especially liked the "small stuff" box they used because it probably saved me about 50 trips up/down the stairs to get things from point A to point B. My biggest worry with movers is usually timing (since they charge by the hour and tend to take their sweet time), but these guys did not waste a minute! I originally thought they had another move scheduled after mine, thus the fast-move, but it turns out I was their last one. It is hard to find movers who do NOT have a minimum # hours (which I wanted for the very short-distanced move). Great service and unbeatable prices! Pro tip: I totally missed that there is no pro-rating of the movers' time, so if it goes past the hour you're paying for the entire hour. My move was completed in 2.5 hours so the guys + myself thought it was time to wrap things up and I let them go.
Steve and partner were on time and extremely efficient. The original quote/range for the move that he gave me on the phone was spot on.. Very satisfied.. Will certainly recommend to anyone I know that is in need of professional movers.
I hired harp for hanging art and moving love seat from sf to napa, my movers cancelled on me at last min on Sunday 23rd july. I found harp from Craigslist and he showed up in 30 min. When He brought love seat to napa I found I had a wrong key, he was at napa at 10 pm, it was my blunder but he really cool guy and offered his servicd to go back to sf and bringing a right key, we went back to sf and briougt right key. He also finished hanging art at my new apartment at midnight, he did not charge me either for extra driving to sf. ! What a cool guy. I am writing this review not only he is professional and know what he is doing but also he is a kind man
They did a great job with our move. We had a particularly heavy armoire, that their team managed to move from our 3rd floor condo without any damage. In fact, none of our furniture was so much as scratched. The movers were courteous and moved our stuff even though it got late in the night. Really grateful.
My original movers cancelled on us the day we were set to move. I called D&J moving that morning and they were at the house within 2 hours. Very responsive and saved the day! They were quick and meticulous about the job. Great people to work with. I would highly recommend them for any of your moving needs.
It was my first time using movers, and it was a great experience with DDT delivery! They were great at communicating, were on time, and extremely fast when moving. They were really careful with the furniture and wrapped any fragile items, they also helped box up some of my loose items. With their help, my move from the Richmond District to the Mission was a breeze. I would definitely recommend them for others moving needs!
All I can say is they preformed as advertised , arriving on time , completing the move I hired them to do in a professional no nonsense manner and charging me exactly the amount agreed upon. In the past 10-20 years , when was the last time you actually experienced complete satisfaction from a company large or small in either the service you hired them to do , or the purchasing and installation of a product that met your expectations ? Sadly , in my experiences very few have resulted in complete satisfaction . I have gotten to the point of dreading the need to find a company to actually deliver the service or item I find myself in need of caused by my disappointments or the time involved in correcting over billed charges , returning products due to mistakes or defects and other situations that could have been avoided by the company remembering why they exist ? We should support and encourage small companies like " Fresh Start Movers " by using their services or recommending to others in need of some heavy lifting whenever possible . Finally I would only remind the young men who are building a great company never to forget the cornerstone of their success , always deliver what you promise !
I had a great experience with these guys. They care about the quality of their work, and they have good hearts. The move was in a timely manner, reasonably priced, and with only 1% margin of error on damages (good for movers). I would highly recommend them.
Everything about my experience with this company was 5 stars across the board. From receiving the quote almost instantly to them showing up right on time for the job. I just needed a pool table moved from one location to another and the gentleman that showed up knew what they were doing and handled the table with the utmost care. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for movers.
So happy this company was there for me when I need last minute movers to move my 2bedroom home to storage! Not only were they 15 minutes early and patiently waited (i was 20 minutes late), they moved all my things quickly and were happy to do so. All my things were packed with out me present so a lot of odd shaped items and thing I still had to decide to keep or toss. I also had two very large Work benches that they moved no problem. The best was besides being totally easy going and kind, is that they charged me a flat fee of $300 for 2 guys for 3 hours of work. No travel fee, no tax, no extra anything!! I tipped them of course as they definitely deserved it! I can’t wait for them to help me move all that stuff from storage to my new place in Walnut Creek.
Overall my experience was excellent, great price and the movers were all professional and quick! The one con was I had been told my things would arrive in two weeks or less, it ended up being around 3 weeks, so it was an extra week I didn't account for.
This was the first time using Thumbtack and MP Movers delivered far beyond what I expected. They were professional and had all of the tools needed to complete the job. Communication was great and they were proactive in making sure that everyone was on the same page. I specially liked that they were prepared to take payment through credit card. I would absolutely hire MP Movers again.
Arrived slightly before appointment time and walked through the house with me. Moved my 3 bedroom house 40 miles away and it took them 8 hrs. Communicating with the movers was a challenge due to limited English proficiency, but you can call their company and a receptionist will explain a more complicated message. I would use them again.
These movers were fantastic. The handled the furniture with care and their expertise. They followed our instructions and listened to our requests. They were polite and respectful. This was a long distance move from Bay Area to Northern California. The drive is about four hours each way and they arrived only five minutes after us. I used Mulea at Bayside Moving and was extremely impressed. Having used multiple movers throughout the years, I had tempered expectations. However, this was the best moving experience I ever had. My job had a tight timetable so I built in a large buffer into my bid. Not only did Bayside come on time, they were early by 10 minutes! Their communication was supurb and texted the day before and also called before arriving. The driver worked fast and was really friendly throughout the move. They are a local Oakland based firm and it felt good to support a small business owner. We had a great experience with Sam. My boyfriend and I were in a bind with our piano - we needed to move it to another room in our apartment ASAP and discovered Saturday that it would be impossible without professional movers. I found Sam and he responded almost immediately (on a Saturday!) that he would be able to come the following day (a Sunday!). He was there on time with one other guy, and they did an excellent job wrapping up the piano, putting it on its side, and navigating it through our narrow San Francisco hallway and around corners to the other room. They were SUPER fast too - in and out in ten minutes! Overall we were very happy and would definitely hire them again. Thank you!!
