Last winter I was fortunate enough to meet Paul and start my physical training program. I approached Paul with the lack of motivation to push myself to the level I desired. I wanted drastic results. I was ready to sculpt my body into top shape after having my second child. Although I am accustomed to weight training and competed in Division I college sports, I was a novice to Paul's style of training. I am constantly challenged by his weight training workouts which are infused with explosive squats, plyometrics, and sprints to name just a few. After six weeks, I had achieved more than I would have thought possible. The benefits included: a substantial drop in body fat (my leanest yet), increased overall body strength and energy, accelerated stamina, stabilized mood after recently having a baby, and sound sleep. After two years, I still look forward to each workout, and prepare for each session like I am pitching in the college world series, as he continuously keeps me guessing by introducing new skills and methods to keep my interest.
I was a little over weight and couldn't figure out why I was having so much trouble getting rid of that last little bit of fat around my stomach. I am an active guy who eats healthy and exercises regularly. I was convinced that I was doing everything right and there was nothing more I could do. I had come to the point where I told myself this was as good as I'm ever going to look and this was my body's limitation. I met with Manuk. We sat down for a consultation. He asked me about my weight training routine, my diet and my overall lifestyle, both in and out of the gym. Then we got deep. He not only wanted to know what I wanted out of fitness but also why I wanted it. I love how detail oriented he was. He seemed to genuinely care. I was a little bit caught off guard because I was just used to those trainers at big corporate gyms that all they wanted to do was sign you up for training so they can hit their monthly quota. However, I felt like Manuk was different. The consultation was unrushed. He broke down fitness in a way that really sank in for me. Finally, he mapped out a plan on how we would, "attack this obstacle." I was in and couldn't wait to start. We trained 3-4 times per week. I had a program and diet to follow and we coordinated the days to make sure we hit every muscle in my body. I had to do check-ins with him whenever I did cardio and on the days we weren't working out together to make sure I stayed on track. He would usually ask me what I ate the night before or what I was planning on eating throughout the day. Diet was a huge part of it and Manuk helped me figure out a plan that worked for me. I work long hours and I don't have the luxury of cooking every night. I loved the way my body changed. I loved how much stronger I had gotten. I loved how lean I was and most of all I loved how despite my own thoughts, I had pushed past my plateau. Manuk took my body to the next level, to say the least. I've been training with Corey just over a month and with his help I'm seeing results I would have never achieved on my own, and in such a short time! Most people gain weight during the holidays, (I typically do) but with Corey's expertise on the right exercises for me and nutritional advice I actually lost 2 sizes! And I actually feel stronger! That says a lot! especially since I have several medical issues including Hasimoto's (hypothyroid). Corey's workouts are challenging and are making a huge difference for me! I couldn't be happier!
Eric is a trainer for my daughter. His is assisting her with conditioning and weight loss. He is very professional, mixes up the exercises to make it interesting and effective, is always punctual, knowledgeable and EASY to work with. I would highly recommend him.
Before working out with Vinney I struggled with weight loss and the motivation needed to go to the gym everyday. I would try and come up with workouts on my own but I never would stay with it. I needed someone that will motivate me and push me to new limits. Vinney became the perfect trainer and I knew he could help me reach the goals I wanted to accomplish. Meaghan saved my life and I'm not just saying that she honestly did. When I meant Meaghan, I was in a dark place I had a heart attack two years prior and had a stent placed in my left descending artery. I was physically and mentally a mess. I was overweight and short of breath and scared to do anything about it. My doctor recommended I start working out and do a weight loss program earlier in the year which I had one excuse or another not to start. After being introduce to Meaghan I decided to sign up. She was amazing and so encouraging. She never asked me to do anything that she wouldn't jump right in and do with me, when I thought I couldn't make it she always had the right thing to say to push me without making me feel bad about myself. I recall the first time I ran a mile she was right there with me, I think we stop 8 times. Each time she would give me the encouragement to continue. When we were done she looked at me and said do you realize you just ran a mile I cried, it was a combination of exhaustion and joy, mostly a true sense of accomplishment. After seven months I have lost 32 pounds and I'm very excited to tell everyone I have ran 4 5ks and my time at the last one was 34:43 minutes. (a year ago I would joke, and say If you ever see me running there is a buffet in front of me or a fire behind me). We added a day of yoga to my week and it is an added bonus I have so much more flexibility and balance. I have changed so much I'm so much healthier, happier and overall a better person. Another added bonus, my doctor has taken me off the majority of the medications I was on. I owe all this to Meaghan, her workout philosophy and her overall amazing dedication to her clients.
Sandy is such a lovely person to have as a trainer! She thinks of different hour long work outs for you for every time you train! We did a mixture of cardio and weight training, with special attention to the places on my body I wanted to tone. She's super personable, friendly, approachable, and generous with her time. I also lost a few inches the first month I trained. She was also willing to meet me at a local park or my own residence, which was helpful with certain weather conditions. I would recommend her to anyone who wants personal training--if you're looking for someone who yells at you and is more of a "sergeant" about it, though, this isn't for you.
Working with meryl has been a joy! I am by no means an athlete or a health nut. I'd sit forever and live off donuts if i could (I probably have at times). I was waaaay off the fitness wagon when I started with meryl but she has gotten me on track! It's actually fun to work out now (well...as close to fun as it will ever be for a person who loves to lounge as much as I do). I'm on my second leg of training and I have had amazing results in body fat percentage reduction, weight loss and overall fitness in just 2 months. I'm now motivated to keep my fitness goals going and her training has been instrumental in getting me to this place. She's also fantastic at working with people with injuries. Highly recommended!
Started with Gil to balance yoga and weight training. He's very easy to work with and was always prepared with workout plans to help me progress. Over the 20 sessions I grew more comfortable doing handstands without relying on a wall.

He customized a work-out plan for the target areas that I wanted to tone and a meal plan to help me lose the weight. I have never had such great success with dieting or exercise. Lucy, has been such a great motivator. She works with your needs and areas of concern. Lucy, is a great trainer. She has helped me with my weight, toning and energy. I also have a bad back. I do not feel like i'm always in pain anymore. Lucy showed me how to use my knees and my legs.
First of all, its great to see Mami going independent. I am her former client, I moved to Chicago a while back, but hey, this girl really changed my body type from being obese to being in shape. I still do most of the work out that she has taught me and as she has done many sports such as gymnastics, martial arts, and dance, she taught me all the hard yet great conditioning that no trainers have never taught me. She is awesome, sweet, and super bad ass, yet she is hardcore some point because she wants to see her clients successfully reaching their goals. Luis is the best trainer I've ever worked with. I came to him needing to lose about 15 lbs and tone my arms, thighs and tummy. I started seeing results within about two weeks, and it just got better from there. He knows exactly how much to push me and when, and as a bonus he's a lot of fun to be around which helps keep the energy up to finish the workout. He gets in there and talks me through the reps and makes sure I finish. Within 2 months I lost the weight I was trying to lose and my body was toned in a way I hadn't thought possible. I continue to look forward to my workouts with Luis.
I first began working with Jared after a series of 3 or 4 mediocre trainers. So when he put so much effort forward to initially and constantly understand where I was in my body, health wise, and where I wanted to be I was pleasantly surprised. Jared goes out of his way to make sure I have an understanding of what is going on with my body and am on track in and out of our sessions which I greatly appreciate. He has a vast knowledge of his profession and ties our work in with my dance and yoga background which helps me on a personal and professional level, as a yoga instructor. I would not be where I am today physically, health wise, and knowledge wise if it were not for his dedication. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a true transformation.
Mike at Show Up Fitness is incredible! Working with him over the last few months has been by far the best experience.
