We gave a big 40th birthday party for our son and wanted everything to be fantastic for him, our family, and all of our friends. We didn't know what a perfect choice we made when we hired Chef Marcel! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Marcel, his staff, and his wonderful food! The dishes were delicious - inventive and perfectly prepared! To add an extra challenge, Chef Marcel and his top notch sous chefs needed to cook in our kitchen and take food to our community room where we were holding the event. Every single step of the process was flawless and at the end of the evening I would have never known anyone had been in my kitchen! I had a recipe for the bartender I wanted to serve. She tweaked it and made it even tastier! Our guests wrote us the next day and raved about the appetizers, the meal, the yummy desserts, and the service, which was impeccable. The staff was friendly, kind, fun, and terrific at what they do. As most people know who give parties, the personalities of those who provide the service is critical. Every single person who took care of us was absolutely lovely. Chef Marcel was there the whole time. He was constantly vigilant making sure everything was running smoothly. He went out of his way to accommodate some hungry late arrivals. He was definitely in charge, respectful of his staff, gracious, flexible, and devoted to us having a great time! Our experience with Chef Marcel exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. A million thank yous to him and to his stellar staff!

My husband and I hired Madkins catering for a family weekend in the desert (La Quinta). We requested a bbq for the first night, and an early Easter dinner for the second night. I expected the meals to be good but not great (I haven’t really had an excellent catering experience). However, the meals were OUTSTANDING. Chef Aviarie is truly talented, and our entire family and guests talked about the interesting flavors and quality of the food. I still can’t get over how Chef Aviarie and Frank prepared everything from scratch in our kitchen in just a few hours! We requested a hefty amount of dishes, and they pulled it off without a sweat! The team is incredibly kind, professional and a pleasure to have cooking in our kitchen. They even managed to entertain our 6 year old nephew while they were cooking. I should also note their rates are very reasonable! I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I am happy to serve as a personal reference in case anyone wants my feedback. From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.

Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!

Food delivery was a little late, but the Chefs stayed and helped with set-up and service even though they were not contracted too. They carved the turkey on location and stayed for the whole event. They also supplied plates and utensils even though we did not ask for them. They were great from start to finish with food left over after feeding 130.

I was extremely delighted with Chef Ana and her team and all that they brought to the table - literally and figuratively. We found ourselves in a tight spot with no caterer on a commercial shoot all the way out in Ventura the day before the shoot, and From The Grill answered the call and got the job done for us at the very last minute and at a price that stayed within our budget. The food was delicious and the crew were all satisfied and happy. My production team got the props from the crew, but we know the props belong to Chef Ana and her team at From The Grill and couldn't be more grateful for their jumping aboard in crunch time and coming through!

So Devine Catering catered an engagement party for my daughter. I can't say enough how awesome they are. I had never hired a caterer before and was a bit out of my element. Chef Alexa was super cool and kind enough to walk me through the process, meet with me and really did an outstanding job. Chef Alexa and her entire team are just awesome. Greg is an outstanding chef and a wonderful person. He delivered a 5-course dinner that was out of this world, and entertained the guests with his bright personality and deep knowledge of food. We hired Greg for a private birthday celebration for my girlfriend, and it was the most special experience we've ever had together. Period. Greg helped us decide on dishes based on my girlfriend's preferences (as he says, do's and don'ts), and wow, he delivered above and beyond our expectations. Each course was meticulously thought out and executed. By the end of the dinner, all of our guests wanted his contact information. If you want a private chef that will deliver an outstanding meal and experience, go with Greg.

My partner and I are busy individuals who recently decided to shift to a plant-based diet. We had no idea what to do, how to get protein (lol) and what to cook. Bekah came highly recommended from a friend who has been using her personal chef services for quite a while now. Bekah's knowledge of vegan cooking and plant-based nutrition was obvious during our first consultation. When we tasted her food, the deal was sealed.     My family and I are very much educated in the art of fine cuisine. We had some guest show up on a sudden stop over and none of us were in the right frame to go out. So, my wife and I decided to try thumbtack. We found Chef David and it was like hitting the lottery. He was punctual, professional and had a great view of exactly what we were needing. From his vendor contacts (for freshest ingredients), to the delivery of his meal everything was over the top and all were blown away. Most importantly we were able to really enjoy the company of our dear friends in a naturally comfortable environment, our home. I will say that although it wasn't on the cheap, it was so worth it that we have booked him again for our anniversary event next week for 30 with our closest friends.
