In the short time that I’ve worked with Griffith, my approach and mindset to singing has completely changed. Griffith is fantastic about finding your true and authentic voice, something that I’ve been struggling to find in singing lessons in the past. He teaches you how truly “natural” it is to sing. Besides just teaching you practical techniques, he also teaches you how to truly connect to the music with your own voice. He makes you feel confident and clearly explains his techniques and exercises; he has found a true balance in combining the science and soul of singing. Thank you Griffith!!!
Paul is a great teacher. He's passionate about guitar and uses his passion to teach students. My 13 and 11 year olds love him. He is consistent in his teaching and makes the lesson fun. I would highly recommend him for any guitar lessons.
Dr. Stephanie is an up beat, enthusiastic coach with a wealth of musical knowledge that is indispensable. Singing is one of my passions and I am always so excited to meet with Stephanie as she makes the environment safe and easy to be myself in. She is able to identify the issues I have with my voice and has an abundance of teaching methods that allow for me to find the solution I need to stay on key. I am very pleased with my choice to work with Stephanie and I always look forward to my lessons!
I've had four lessons so far with Steve, and I am so pleased with how it is going! Steve is very skilled, patient, kind, punctual and professional. He responds to all my questions, and is very encouraging. He comes to my office in Pasadena to give me my lesson. I find that the biggest challenge in learning something new, is keeping my own internal critic under control as I struggle with note reading, and learn how to play the guitar. The fact that Steve is so patient and never critical helps to offset my internal critic. I have felt self doubting in the first two lessons, but by lesson 3, I am confident that if I keep practicing and working with Steve, eventually I will get it. Steve also shared info re his Taylor Mini guitar which is much smaller than the typical guitar, easier for me to play because the frets are smaller for smaller hands. I just bought my own Taylor Mini, a beautiful instrument which also inspires me to keep at it! Steve is also introducing some popular songs starting in lesson 3, which also makes it more enjoyable. This is one of the best decisions I have made for myself, and I am very happy that I was lucky to find Steve. He's great!
Brian knows his stuff. I think he spent over 30000 hours on the guitar. I usually play him songs I want to learn, he listens for a minute or so and knows exactly how the song is to be played and what he needs to teach me. He is patient and his lessons are fun. I only had a couple of lessons so far but already scheduled the next one for this week. Feels like I found the right guy.
I took guitar lessons here for several years and it was great in every way! James is an amazing teacher and person. We're still friends to this day and remain in contact! He's very inspiring and motivational, and will tremendously help you regardless of your skill level. He is a true professional and a true master of his art! No one better!
GreenTree Music Academy did an outstanding job teaching my sons guitar and piano over the last two years. We had just moved from another state and were used to high quality music education. The GreenTree instructors are highly professional, always on time, and are motivated teachers. I am glad I found them.
Emo is an awesome artist he is patient and understand and knows when to push you to your very limit. I shopped around for voice coaches for weeks before I settled with Emo anyone reading this don’t look at anyone else. Go see Emo he’s laidback patient and he his lessons are fun.
Very professional, thorough and patient which worked for as a beginner in this kind of fitness. My only con is that I can't do as many lessons as I'd like. Overall a great trainer.
Very to the point and knowledgeable about the instrument. He obviously has studied the guitar for a long time and knowing that makes the lessons comfortable and effective.
Kim runs a very professional, honest business. She is supremely flexible and attentive to her students - something you don't get from impersonal music store type lessons. I've taken 1 on 1 lessons with her for 2 years - she customizes lessons to meet my development needs. She does operate her business out of a home studio but it's that personal attention and comfortable learning environment that I was looking for. If you want something better than what you can get from your garden variety music store - look no further!
Omar is very professional and patient. My daughter is enjoying her cello lessons.
If you have the opportunity to study with Alex Snydman please take it. Outside of his infectiously positive attitude and kind heart, he is also an INCREDIBLE drum teacher. I can't recommend him highly enough and feel so lucky to be studying with him. I look forward to my lessons every week and after trying many teachers finally found someone who I feel is the best!!! Also I feel it is important to note that he can teach all styles and is extremely accomplished. I have been lucky to see him play live over the past few years and am in awe of his playing...trust me, try him and you will not regret it.
Linda has been my son's private cello teacher for many years. With her help he jumped straight into the advanced chamber orchestra at high school as a freshman. We recently added music theory to his regular weekly lessons and as a result his grade for his AP music theory class at the high school is a 99.5%. Here's hoping for a 5 on his AP test!
Mia creates such a positive and encouraging environment with such good vibes! As someone who has never taken voice lessons before, I immediately felt comfortable singing around Mia. She picks up the strength and weaknesses and challenges to build and grow from them. I also think it's great that she has her own recording setup. So much fun!
"Dr. Rose Chen is knowledgeable in music and passionate about teaching music. Besides teaching me how to read the symbols on the sheet music, she emphasizes on ear training and musicianship. She has helped me to become a better sight-reader and my understanding of music has allowed me to start writing my own music- all thanks to Dr. Chen. She is also capable of teaching skills needed to play different styles of music. My lessons always include classical pieces and some of my favorite songs by Stevie Wonder. I highly recommend Dr. Chen as a piano teacher."
If you havent had voice lessons yet and you want to give it a try and gain knowledge, confidence and everything you need to know to become familiar with your voice you need to shedule a lesson with Mariela! Mariela is not only a professional and well rounded singer, she also is an incredible, eclectic Songwriter and she inspired and helped me to finish songs with her creative mind. I used to have difficulties with my singing technique and only in a couple of months I have been able to sing songs I never dared to sing before! Singing is fun now! Its not something I need to be scared of or that anyone could take from me. My next step is that I want to learn how to accompany myself on the piano and since Mariela teaches piano too I cant wait to learn her skills. So go and take lessons with her! and listen to her music online, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/marieemusica?fref=ts Mariela thank you so much for the happiness you brought into my life! :) Stefanie
This is a great music school and lot of fun for kids. They had a recital in Lee Chapel this year. Donna Lee, the owner puts her heart and soul in the school. I'm sure your kids will love music lessons and enjoy it.
I have two nieces and one nephew. Taking lessons at home, my eldest niece started reading music, learning guitar and piano several days after her kindergarten ceremony. By the time she entered 6th grade she outperformed me in many areas even though I was also taking lessons from Ernest. He always shows great care in the process of learning, practicing, and mastering the instrument. My nephew ended up picking up the guitar and my youngest niece acquired the language of music & instruction possibly as early as her crawling under the keyboard and listening to her older sisters lessons over the years. By the time the youngest entered 1st grade she was composing legitimate piano pieces and all three kids eventually shined as the brightest music stars in their K-8 school. Ernest is sensitive to the needs and interests of the learner. Whenever possible he provides additional time. His foresight and attention to detail facilitates the maturation process and sustained growth available only through the delivery and mastery of his craft. My niece expressed gratitude by giving him drawings of the sun, clouds, hearts, trees and smiley faces beneath the words, tHANk yOu ErnSt. Grandma also happily made snacks and treats for Ernest. At this time I cant think of anything for Ernest to improve because the proof can be heard in the music. I will be more than happy to discuss our music lessons with ErnSt.
I wanted to set up voice lessons for my sister. Bravo Academy of Music had a great website introducing their school, values, instructors, and more. Nick responded to me by phone and we continued via text messages to confirm date, time, and instructor for free initial lesson. Teacher and student were a good fit and weekly lessons are now set up.
To begin with, I really enjoy being tutored by Marcelo. One reasons is because I like the fact he uses different methods of teaching to help me improve my Spanish speaking skills; for example, he has used book lessons and anthologies in order to help me strengthen my reading and comprehension skills in addition to audiobooks to help improve my listening skills. Another reason is because I like that Marcelo tries to challenge my skills by having me read/listen to advanced readings/audiobooks which allow me to observe my strengths and weaknesses as a student. Lastly, I really like the fact that he is easy to talk to and that he is a patient teacher who seems to enjoy teaching. Overall, I would definitely recommend his services to others.
