Chef Sat did a spectacular job for my girlfriend's birthday party! I had two previous chefs flake out on me, the first being completely unresponsive, and the second not answering a request for a quote and then going completely over budget. Sat stepped in with only a few days to organize, and was more professional and invested in the event than I could have hoped for. Sat listened carefully as I rambled about which ingredients I was hoping to include on the menu, and provided great feedback about what would be in season, what we would be able to find with good quality, and how we could break from a traditional menu in order to squeeze in as much variety as possible. He patiently revised his menu 4-5 times for me to address every detail I could throw at him - and, remember, this was all with under a week to plan the event. Sat also helped me rent dishware, and was very transparent about what would be needed, and what things would cost - this was a huge time saver. At the party, Sat was charismatic and charming. He thoroughly cleaned the entire kitchen and packaged all our leftovers while we ate. He fielded our questions about his background, cooking techniques, sourcing tools and ingredients. The Bottom line, I would hire Sat again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the wonderful evening!
I have worked with many chefs in the past and Stephanie stood out as exceptional not only for the wonderful food she made, but also for her easy going nature and ability to accommodate our many additions requests. She truly went above and beyond and our event was a great success due to her hard work. I am looking forward to working with her in the future and I hughkg recommend her.
A-Plus staff (chef/server and bartender) arrived early and went right to work as we had 175 guests. Bartender quickly organized the bar and made pitchers of signature drinks to get ahead of the coming rush of guests. Hot appetizers were prepared and served to hungry arriving guests. Great service by the A-Plus team. We will use again!
We had Made With Love do the food for our wedding. Everything turned out so good I am still getting compliments on the food 2 months later. There was plenty of food so everyone could have seconds if they wanted and I keep hearing how everyone left feeling full. We had a family wedding with a lot of help from friends and family so although we had a friend of my husband do the meat Made With Love did all the drinks and side dishes. We had home made bread, garlic green beans, baked beans, pasta salad and Caesar salad. The presentation was beautiful
I hosted a 50th birthday dinner at our home last night form my wife and 12 of her close girl friends. Senorita Gourmet Andrea Gray catered a Mexican themed dinner for us and did an outstanding job. The ladies absolutely loved it and my wife could not have been more pleased with her birthday dinner. Thank you Andrea. We interviewed three other private chefs for our dinner before deciding to go with Andrea. She was the most professional, the most responsive, and by far the most creative. Of course we wanted great food (Andrea can deliver that), but we were also looking for something unique and creative, without being stiff and formal. Enter Andrea, with her Mexican themed dinner complete with her own plates, glasses and table decorations. Fun, Festive, and Uniquely Fresh! As for the food and drink. Key highlights were the Raspberry Mojitos, Avocado Soup, Quiche de Calebazita, and Mexican Corn Cake. I highly recommend the Una Senorita Gourmet.
The food was amazing. The chef sent to my house (Chef Matthew) took care of all my guests and made us all feeling special and amazing. The food was top notch and I have enjoyed the extra that was left over all week. I will definitely use you again because it was all exactly what I hoped for.
Having worked with a few different chefs, with varying results, I can enthusiastically recommend Chet Chase! From start to finish, working with him was a pleasure. Prior to my event, Chet proactively responded to my requests, suggesting options, working with my budget and numbers - and adjusting the menu when my numbers changed. During my event, Chet and his assistants were thorough, on-time, organized, adding an item on the fly, and provided a seamless experience. And something I have not seen from other chefs - clean, stocked with their own cleaning supplies, and left the kitchen as clean as it ever was. I will definitely be using Chet Chase for my next event!

This was our first time having a chef for a house party with ~15 guests, and I highly recommend Graceful Kitchen! Chef Grace was able to accommodate our request for vegetarian food, and presented us with several good choices. She was there ahead of time, and the food, esp. the pasta, received good feedback from everyone that attended. I will use Graceful Kitchen again for future events.
Rose Johnson Catering was my party partner for our son’s engagement celebration last weekend in Orinda. The party was a huge success, and Rose and her team deserve much credit for the success. Rose responded to my Thumbtack inquiry with a prompt, thorough, and reasonable bid. However, after viewing her beautiful website, I replied to Rose that while I personally thought her menus were perfection, my son had specified that he did not want the food for his party to be “too fancy.” I told Rose the party would be a casual afternoon affair on our deck and I feared her culinary talents would be wasted on my son and my husband. Rose persevered, pointing out in her reply that she could do a barbecue with a southwestern flavor. The food need not be "fancy," she observed, but it should be tasty. And she sent me a custom menu that my son, his fiancée, my sisters, my husband and I all proclaimed perfect, including seared medium rare tri-tip of beef with chimichurri sauce, grilled cilantro chicken with tortillas, chipotle laced potato salad, and Mexican rice, bean, and corn salad. But Rose did not stop with sending me the menu; she said she would use my kitchen and grill on my deck, ensuring the food would be fresh as well as tasty. And after I hired her, she came to my home to check out my kitchen, my deck, and my grill and advised me on renting and setting up dining rounds and serving tables, as well as how to ensure good traffic flow for 50 guests. Rose is a real party expert, and I am not, so her advice was very much appreciated. The day of the party, Rose, Floricel and Esteban arrived a full two hours early and took charge. I hired Rose Johnson Catering for the food, which they delivered beautifully. As it turned out, they helped with the entire party, going above and beyond in many instances and showing poise and flexibility in the face of surprises, like my son’s decision to give a speech and set off a round of champagne toasts before dessert. Rose poured the champagne herself. Several guests asked me during the party: Who catered this? Who is your caterer? I happily provided several referrals to Rose Johnson Catering. Guest comments about the food were very positive: Mike: “The tri-tip was great.” Helen: “The grilled chicken was fabulous.” Kay: “I loved the potato salad. And the guacamole was wonderful.” Liz: “So nice to have so many dishes gluten-free.” Cindy: “The brownies were amazing. I told them so.” Bill: “Those parfaits were a big hit.” Matt: “Great food! Great service!” There was plenty of food for 50 guests, even with 1/3 of them being hungry 20-something friends of my son’s from high school and college. We even had leftovers, which Rose packed up and left in my refrigerator, along with leaving my kitchen cleaner than she found it. My husband, son, future daughter-in-law and I made a brunch of the leftovers the next day, sharing the delicious food and happy memories of a wonderful party. Best of all, this was the first party I’ve ever hosted where I had a great time myself. I don’t think I’ll have another big party again without booking Rose Johnson Catering!
The food tasted fantastic! I did hear just a few complaints that the food did not come around to their tables Very often so some people only got one or two appetizers. The people from kitchen 350 were super nice!
Everything about this event was stunning...the meal was simple, tasty, incredibly fresh, with local ingredients and beautifully prepared. Michelle was extremely professional, responsive, and managed all of our requests or changes. She added her own touches like hand written menus, fresh flowers and candles that made the evening that much better. I've hired a few professional chefs before and she was by far the best! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a personal chef experience.
A last minute event which Ania pulled off in amazing style, quality, and humor. One of my guests was a chef, and he loved her food. We don't come to Napa often but we will hire Ania again!
Chef Annicette was amazing! She made us the most delicious brunch: 6 different kinds of bacon, eggs benedict, crab cakes , waffles, and much more. She timed the meal perfectly and the portion size was perfect. Chef Annicette has a great energy and was an absolute delight to work with. I highly recommend her!
We hired Zachary to teach us how to make pasta. He suggested 3 different kinds of shapes and fillings. He was punctual to our home and came prepared with all the ingredients. The pasta turned out great and it was a fun experience overall. I would recommend anyone to take lessons with Zachary and/or hire him as a personal chef.
To celebrate our 13 years (3 years married!) anniversary, my husband surprised me with a private cooking class with Chef Traci! Because I am still fairly new on my whole foods plant based lifestyle journey (for health reasons!) this was a SUPER thoughtful gift and what made it special too was Chef Traci! I loved how it was held in her very own kitchen which made it low key, hands-on, personable and fun! Chef Traci was not only very welcoming but knowledgeable, entertaining and willing to answer any and all questions! To start off Chef Traci had prepared for us a cheddar cheese and an eggplant caponata with crackers - both of which were super addicting! I had to ask for those recipes! Then started the preparation for the blue cheese of which was stuffed in dates for our appetizers and let me tell you this blue cheese is HEAVEN! I LOVE blue cheese (the stinkier the better!) and this was an amazing alternative and I appreciated how Chef Traci let us season to our taste! I was beyond stoked knowing that I got to bring a mason jar full of this yummy goodness back home! After the blue cheese, we made a ricotta cheese, cut up a ton of veggies and assembled our entree which was a delicious and super easy to make zucchini lasagna! Side note: My husband brought a bottle of wine so YES we most definitely were all sharing it while having a fun time in the kitchen! Chef Traci then prepared for us a chocolate mousse dessert to enjoy later while she let us sit out on her deck to enjoy more wine and appetizers. Once the lasagna was done cooking, she brought us to a long dining table in a separate room where we were served table side and soon after finished off on a chocolaty note! The whole experience was AMAZING and I HIGHLY recommend Chef Traci! What's even better is that I now have these recipes so I can make and share these delicious eats with friends and family =)!
Chef Cheri has been an ABSOLTE PLEASURE to work with during the prep phase for my friends' special Romantic Dinner for Two! Chef Eileen was the greatest! This was a first time experience for us, hiring a personal chef for a small group of 8. It was a bachelorette party and the best touch to start an otherwise amazing weekend. Chef Eileen was professional, extremely sweet and most of all our 4 course dinner was delicious! I hired Chef Niko while I was in Korea for my dad's 75th birthday dinner in California. From the moment we spoke on the phone, she was thoughtful, attentive, kind, compassionate, and professional. I felt as if I was talking to a good friend of mine I had known for years. She accommodated every single one of my needs, my family needs, and went above and beyond to meet every single one of our expectations. My dad said, "It was an unforgettable birthday." My mom said, "I wished we had seconds!" My sister said, "My family and I were gifted a meal by Niko at our home. We are not vegan, so our menu contained meat. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was super fresh, not too heavy, perfectly portioned, and had lovely flavor profiles. Niko even carried out the majority of her prep beforehand to accommodate our needs, brought flowers from her garden, and was extraordinarily flexible and attentive throughout the meal. We would highly recommend her!" SHE IS AMAZING.
Chef Rhonda did a great job with my dinner party was extremely friendly and accommodating! She worked with my requests and budget to craft a great four course menu which everyone enjoyed. The Cherries Jubilee dessert was a particular highlight!
Chef Emmaneulla was very accommodating and professional. You can see and taste that she truly takes pride in her dishes. She was very responsive, organized and open to input when planning the menu, always looking for seasonality in her dishes.
