We gave a big 40th birthday party for our son and wanted everything to be fantastic for him, our family, and all of our friends. We didn't know what a perfect choice we made when we hired Chef Marcel! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Marcel, his staff, and his wonderful food! The dishes were delicious - inventive and perfectly prepared! To add an extra challenge, Chef Marcel and his top notch sous chefs needed to cook in our kitchen and take food to our community room where we were holding the event. Every single step of the process was flawless and at the end of the evening I would have never known anyone had been in my kitchen! I had a recipe for the bartender I wanted to serve. She tweaked it and made it even tastier! Our guests wrote us the next day and raved about the appetizers, the meal, the yummy desserts, and the service, which was impeccable. The staff was friendly, kind, fun, and terrific at what they do. As most people know who give parties, the personalities of those who provide the service is critical. Every single person who took care of us was absolutely lovely. Chef Marcel was there the whole time. He was constantly vigilant making sure everything was running smoothly. He went out of his way to accommodate some hungry late arrivals. He was definitely in charge, respectful of his staff, gracious, flexible, and devoted to us having a great time! Our experience with Chef Marcel exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. A million thank yous to him and to his stellar staff!
Great service, excellent food, outstanding communication and much more added value than expected. We hired Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for our wedding reception in Laguna Beach on 10-15-16. We had a 3 months window to plan the wedding from out of town and Carolina made sure all our vendor needs from rentals to reception food to our wedding cake was taken care of. She communicated often and made sure we got what we wanted. Chef Boris and his team the day of the reception were a pleasure to be around. The food was authentic (Soft Tacos)and DELICIOUS! Directly from our guest “you hit a home run with the food”, “best wedding food, ever”, “I went back 3 times!”. Our servers Gustavo and Sophia were very accommodating and always made sure ALL guest were taken care of. Highly recommend using Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for any event!!
They catered our wedding reception, the food was outstanding. The overall pricing was fair and slightly below market rates. The staff arrived on time ready to work. Servers, chef,dj all worth the money. Thank you again!
My daughters Birthday was amazing, the Catering Carnival made pizzas, pink cone shaped french fries and Mac and cheese in cupcake pink cups, the kids were in HEAVEN!!!!! not one piece was left! My daughters exact words were " Can the Chefs come here every day" The display looked like a fairy tale , they were amazing, I will be uploading pics soon. Please Chefs save the date for her next BDAY!!!!
From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.
Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
Food delivery was a little late, but the Chefs stayed and helped with set-up and service even though they were not contracted too. They carved the turkey on location and stayed for the whole event. They also supplied plates and utensils even though we did not ask for them. They were great from start to finish with food left over after feeding 130.
Tonya and her team were incredible! We had a 50 person private party, she worked with me on the perfect menu and provided food and bartending services. They used my outdoor kitchen to fire the food right before serving so it was hot and awesome. Everyone mentioned how great the food was, and most went back for more. The best part of having a caterer is to not have to worry about anything. We never once had to think or worry about anything being ready or right. Thanks!!!
Travis was really friendly and an excellent chef. His food was exquisite and delicious. The combinations of food was excellent. The food really represented how much of a talented chief Travis is. The breakfast was amazing, especially the waffles which were crunchy and extravagant. The shrimp tarts were extremely delicious and my whole family were astonished by how he made the base with slices of bread. This truly was an amazing experience and we will definitely be hiring his services again.
Five stars for all for categories. The chicken piccata and trip tip were tender and delicious, and the side dishes were fresh and tasty as well. Aioli dropped off on time in nice dishes. My compliments to the chef!

Kieth, owner of Haute Productions was wonderful! I hired Haute Productions for my clients 60th birthday event. The food was amazing delicious! Kieth worked with me to match what my client wanted. There was no limits in our request. The guests raved about the mixed vegetables, seriously order them they wonderful. The chicken was moist the sauces were full of flavor. The spread also included another guest favorite, honey butter. Everyone was satisfied. I will defiantly be keeping Haute Productions on file for future clients and look forward to working with Kieth again. Thank you!
Steven is incredibly professional, enegertic, and skilled at what he does! We loved having him as a private chef for parties and intimate gatherings-- he brings a great enthusiaam to his work, and the food was Michelin star quality!!
I had a fantastic dinner with Amy! She arrived right on time and prepared an amazing mediterranean spread for us. The food was delicious. Everything was well seasoned and perfectly timed with our return. It was for a bachelorette party and she was awesome with getting everything together. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a chef for an event!
I have hired Daneen for my annual bday party dinner party in addition to many other special social functions I have put on and she embodies every attribute associated with what you find in a top notch professional chef. She is punctual, detailed and meticulous in her delivery, and extremely organized with the execution of the entire dinner. When you work with her, her delightful and charming personality wins you over in seconds and she shows you how much effort, commitment and desire she puts forth to make your dinner party a huge success. She cares about her work as if she was cooking for her own family. As for her actual cuisine, one of the most underrated and undiscovered culinary gems we have here in our city. I have told her countless times that if she ever needs a willing tongue to taste anything she is experimenting with, count me in! I consider myself to be a snobby foodie with a demanding palate and even when " whips up a little something" I am on cloud nine and demanding that any and all leftovers are mine to keep. She genuinely loves to cook and you can really taste all the love she puts into her work. For anyone reading this review, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to her culinary magic and you too will soon be more than excited to write a review like this one for her.

It was a pleasure working with Diane and her food was quite tasty. She made my husband's birthday celebration joyful and may life so much easier at a very busy time. This was our first experience with a personal chef and we will certainly consider doing it again in the future for another special occasion.
Greg was the perfect chef for my dinner party! He's enthusiastic about what he does and excellent at creating a menu that is delicious and every bit as good (or better) than dining at a 5-star restaurant while being in your own home! Jory came to our home to prepare a dinner for 10 guests. Our house staff was delighted by his ability to keep the kitchen clean while preparing for service. Since I run a food service company myself, this alone is laudable and the sign of a true chef. He prepared hor d'oeuvres, appetizers, three entreés, and served the crepe cake we brought in from Lady M Bakery. Afterwards, he offered coffee service while service wound down. The quality of the food was superb on all counts, and many of our guests asked for seconds and still left their plates empty. Mediterranean dishes of fennel branzino, victorian lamb, and gardenherbed lemon chicken were the highlights of the night. During service, our guests were shocked to see the double doors be drawn open and to find a spotless kitchen in between each course. Our guests are very well-to-do in the fashion industry. Jory is young and very well rounded personally—service was socially and culinarily seamless. He was even welcoming when our guests pillaged the leftovers in the kitchen throughout the night. My wife and I will book him to cook parties in the future and you should too.
