We are a home-based studio. Our home has been converted with multiple sound-proofed areas included a space with a waiting area and a large viewing windows for parents of students. My wife, Rachel teaches piano and toddler music classes under the name Monkey Musik. I teach drums, guitar, and trumpet in a separate studio space of our home. We have taught students of all ages and skill levels for nearly 10 years. I take drum students starting at age five. I have a child-sized set and an adult sized set to accommodate any size of student from beginner to moderate skill levels. I take guitar/ukelele students starting at age seven. I can help recommend a new instrument for students if they don't have one. I don't teach tabs. I teach using a classical method that focuses on learning to read and understand written music. I also blend chord knowledge with classical knowledge from beginner to advanced skill levels. I take trumpet students starting at age 9-10 or younger on a case-by-case basis. For beginner trumpet students, I will focus on how to form an embouchure and how to play notes in the first octave. With more advanced students, I focus on range, tone, accuracy, and endurance. For moderate-advanced students, I teach from Arbans.

Nurturing a child's God given ability and teaching him or her the fundamentals early in life set him or her up for a lifelong love and appreciation for music.
Ariana is a great piano teacher! She's incredibly patient and kind. I didn't know what it would be like to relearn piano as a adult but she walked me through the whole thing with a huge smile on her face. I've had a great experience so far and can't wait to keep learning with her. I would highly recommend her to any age.
She's very patient and understands when you stuggle. She's very sweet and unique! I feel like I'm going to have a special bond with her : )
So far, Gen, has only had two lessons. However, she likes Karen immensely. Has high enthusiasm. Karen's studio is surely music centered. Make a "note" of that. Hope you like my pun.

I recommend Amy Watt unequivocally to teach your child a beautiful art that you can cherish for life. You will not find another person who will teach your child music and nurture them like they should be." "The BEST teachers teach from the HEART, not from the book" goes the quote. And it suits Ms. Amy so well. As a teacher of my 2 girls aged 10 and 6, Ms. Amy brought a sea change in the girls' piano skills and their attitude toward music. They enjoyed every class with her and looked forward to it during the weeks. Add to her immense music knowledge, the fact that she is also a mother of two. So you have an accomplished parent teaching your child. We cannot thank Ms. Amy enough for instilling strong piano basics and love for music. In a short duration we saw a vast change in the piano level of our children. We are sad to lose her to Colorado, but wish her the best in her life and piano tutoring there. Ms. Amy, thanks again for everything."

Music is as simple as "do, re, mi!" Simply Musical Studios has openings for more students this spring!
Kristine was the only one in the 6 teachers responding to my request who mentioned my interest in chords. In addition, chords, at my request, was a major focus of our first lesson together. Also, I can walk to lessons. Very satisfied!

My daugher has been taking vocal lessons with Dutch for about a year. I have been lucky enough to observe most of the lessons. He knows just how to provide feedback in a way that is not only encouraging but also in small chunks. My daughter has responded beautifully to his warm style. He is an outstanding coach and a joy to work with. Lastly, I can see enormous improvements in my daughters singing abilities because of Dutch!
My years of experience. My prior teaching experience as a music teacher in an elementary school. My education...graduate of the Guitar Institute. I know all styles of guitar, classical, electric, jazz, acoustic, and bass. I have impressive references. I travel to my students homes.I read music and can teach that and theory as well. I also write music and sing as well as perform.
I have taught piano for 14 years. I took private piano lessons for 20 years, I have 2 years of college training. I teach beginners to intermediate, with a focus on theory. I enjoy letting my students help choose the music they play, allowing them to become more focused and enjoy playing so much more. I only teach out of my home and allow my students to participate in recitals at least twice a year. I love teaching and meeting new people.
My daughter has been receiving lessons from Julie for 3.5 years now and I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a teacher that is personable and truly cares for your child and enjoys nurturing their love for music and the piano then look no further.
-I teach every student according to their own personality and temperament. -Countless opportunities for my students to compete and perform - Use of fun technology to teach theory
I am willing to teach adults who always had a dream to learn how to play the piano. Any age is welcome!
It was great... much better than I was expecting. I like the fact it was private because I felt uninhibited and much less self-conscious. I'm looking forward to future sessions.
Alex has offered to help us get started in the hunt for a piano. He has a lot of expertise and we can't wait to get started on lessons.
Lyza is able to connect with young children and adapt to different learners. She started with our son when he was 3.5 and he was very interested in actually playing Instruments. Most folks just turned us down and told us to take one of those toddler group classes as he was too young for real lessons. The classes were all nice but not all that interesting to him. We tried several different places. All with great reviews like swallow hill and such. Lyza has a great balance of structure, free form, global exploration with the various instruments she brings with her, focus on specifics of an instrument and learning to read music. She is also a really intelligent, kind and fun person who you can completely trust with your child. Value - she comes to your home for 45 per hour. And it's a full hour. Often a bit longer. That is an amazing value. At |15-30 for various 45 minute group classes you are better off doing lessons with lyza every other week.
There are many great teachers in town. I know, I have studied with many of them. I simply pass along the knowledge they have given me in a way that the student can absorb at their individual pace.
Brook was very accommodating of my lack of any formal singing training. She was able to modify her style to meet my particular needs and improve my confidence in singing.
Randall was a great piano teacher who really showed a love of teaching music and pacing the content appropriate to your level. Friendly and would highly recommend to anyone interested in starting down their road as a musician.
Mr. Blair helped to prepare a group of boys to sing at the White House! He was very flexible with his schedule and was even available to support extra rehearsal when we needed it last minute. He was always prepared and is clearly very knowledgeable about music. He brought new ideas and his professional opinion helped our students be the best they could be! I would highly recommend him.
I work with students in a private or small group setting. I am a teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience.

Grow your personal connection with music through the practice of guitar and/or bass guitar, theory, song playing and songwriting, and it has to be fun!
I am very passionate about music and I greatly enjoy passing on the theory and methods of learning that I was taught when I first started. I try to make each lesson fun and challenging according to the students abilities. I also try to incorporate a healthy blend of ear training and music theory into each lesson so that the student is growing holistically as a musician.

I have 3 programs - traditional private piano lessons (ages 6 1/2 and up), Let's Play Music (ages 4-6) and Sound Beginnings (ages 2-4) Let's Play Music is a 3-year music theory course for starting ages 4-6, that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading, and ear training, and that's accomplished through play! Let's Play Music is based on the philosophies of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff. Students learn to read rhythms by saying bug notes (four 16th notes is "cat-er-pil-lar"), learn chord progressions through colors (I is a red chord, IV is a blue chord, V is a yellow chord) and much more. They start on the autoharp and bell set for their 1st year and transfer the skills they learned to the piano on the 2nd and 3rd year. They learn advanced theory skills while also developing their ear skills. By the end of the program, the students compose their own song and play it at the recital. Let's Play Music is a great program both for students who want to go on and study classical music and those who want to play popular music since it teaches the necessary skills for both. Ear training, composing, transposing, and an understanding of chords are very important skills for the contemporary 21st-century musician that are often neglected in traditional piano lessons. These are huge focuses in Let's Play Music and in my private piano lessons as well.
Linda is outstanding. She has helped our daughter with enunciation, projection, and overcoming her stage fright. When she started with Linda, she'd already had multiple vocal teachers, but none had helped our daughter progress as much as Linda has. She expects a lot, but she works to make sure it's fun for both parties.
