Last Spring, I was pretty miserable. I was very overweight, very out of shape, and living with a lot of pain in my feet, ankles, knees and back. It was getting difficult to do the every day things I needed and wanted to do, and I was feeling lost. Exercise hurt too much which resulted in more sitting, more eating, and more weight gain. In a moment of motivation, I searched on Yelp for personal trainers near me and made a call to TruFit. I feel very lucky that Jaime answered the phone that day. We've been working together for 10 months now. In that time I've lost over 50 pounds, a few clothing sizes, and many inches. More importantly, my back pain is gone and I am back to hiking, walking, and I recently started running again. My joints feel much better and can carry me wherever I need to go. The best change is that my resting heart rate has gone from 84 beats per minute down to 63. I feel much healthier, happier and have a lot more energy. From day one, Jaime has been encouraging, motivating and challenging. Our workouts are always changing and I'm never bored. Jamie focuses on all aspects of health, not just our strength training sessions: nutrition, food habits, sleep, cardio, and more. He genuinely cares about me and is fun to work with. I have more progress I want to make; and I just signed with Jaime and TruFit Personal Training for another year. I first started working out with Cornelius about one year ago, after my girlfriend encouraged me to give personal training a try. I used to be one of those guys who thought personal trainers weren't necessary for a good workout, so I was hesitant at first but I followed my girlfriend's advice and signed up for a few sessions with Cornelius. After our first workout, I knew I'd be coming back for more. When I first started training I was WEAK, even though I had been jogging regularly. I had rarely stretched or worked on building strength. I also wasn't eating well. Cornelius immediately recognized these holes in my training regimen and started developing workout and diet plans to help me build strength at a healthy pace. Due to my lack of stretching, many of my muscles and joints were incredibly tight but Cornelius' taught me exercises and stretches that would help me build strength and loosen that tightness without causing injury. Thanks to Cornelius, I feel stronger and look healthier. The girlfriend who got me started with training has even pointed out improvements to my energy levels and confidence. The fitness plans Cornelius has built around my personal needs have been perfect. Throughout our workouts, he has been very relaxed and great to talk to but he also knows when to push me to workout harder. I look forward to each of our sessions, and I strongly recommend him to others.
Doug and his assistant provided First Aid/CPR/AED Training to our office staff of 20. Everyone felt they learned what they were hoping to learn and are confident they will be able to use what they learned. Everyone thinks Doug is an excellent trainer. They enjoyed hearing the science/medicine behind why things are done the way they are as well as real-world anecdotes. They also very much appreciated Doug's ability to inject humor into the training. They would happily attend another course offered by Doug or recommend him to others.
I've been training with Jenise about 1 month now, she is a great trainer! I have lower back problems which limits me to doing specific work outs. She has taught me how to modify work outs to prevent further injuries but still gain muscle. Since training with her I feel more energized and definitely see a change in my body! Looking forward to continue training with her.
After losing 70lbs, Derek helped me lose 20lbs more and helped me achieve a goal to compete in my very first bodybuilding competition last year. I have learned so much from him in regards to nutrition and fitness. I continue to train with him, and he always my go-to when I have questions. Derek is the best around and I always refer people to him when they express interest in becoming healthier and more fit.
I started training with Svet a couple of months ago and love it! He is pushes me just enough to get me to keep going without overdoing it. I usually give up pretty quickly and I was surprised with my progress. I was not only looking to get my self back into shape, but I also wanted to change my eating habits. I always struggled with random cravings and always gave in. He was able to help me with adjusting my diet and nutrition, providing information on different supplements and meal plans to keep me on track. Always a bonus!! Another thing I really liked was that we could either train at the gym at the community center or at my townhouse. They will really go where you want to go. Svet and his trainers know what they are doing and know a lot of great exercises, and you can tell that they love what they do! All in all I'm definitely giving a 5 out 5 and would highly recommend this team.

The plain and simple truth: That a young, educated, determined individual can have a Naval Officers wife of over 60 years succumb to his training!! Tough "Old Bird" into her third week is elated with Arris's 24/7 training techniques. Mind you, she's in her 80's. Love her to the "Moon and Back" but scares me beyond control. Arris, you clearly know what you're doing. We can't thank you enough. Where she ordered needs, she's now confidently starting to do on her own.
A friend has advised me to take self-defense training, not a typical self defense course, a special training made by Falcon. I thought that he was joking, thats been the true: a training give by an Israeli school security expert thought outdoors in real places. I did a special training, very special. I never found and did in my entire life nothing like that. Falcon was patient and constant to take me to be independent for my personal security. I learn a lot important interesting things. With Falcons school I did an articulate training, taking care of all the technical, psychological, physical and behavioral aspects. Falcon is a high level security professional even if he doesnt want to show it. His reserved behavior is synonym of guaranty, professionalism and importance. I have to be sincere, this training was really exhausting but I dont regretet it.
I went to Brian for self-defense lessons. I had no previous experience, but I never felt talked down to or uncomfortable with Brian. His techniques were very practical and real-life applicable, as well as quick to pick up. Brian gave lots of instruction to make sure I understood everything and made the learning process easy. After just a few weeks I already began to feel very capable of defending myself in a wide variety of situations due to Brian's training. I highly recommend Brain, and would definitely go back to him.
To put it succinctly for those that don’t want to read this whole review..... Julian, as my personal trainer, is phenomenal! He is super knowledgeable, well trained, educated, I would say an expert about training the body to get the results you want. He has a great energy, enthusiasm, and passion for getting you in the best shape you can be! I can't recommend him highly enough. I chose to work with Julian, personal trainer and owner of Prepare for Performance, cause he listened to what my goals were and his approach to over all strengthening fit with me. I love how he mixes up the workouts always focus on engaging my core in everything we do. I have never really exercised or been into fitness because weight was never an issue, until I hit my mid 40s. Feeling really fatigued, bad posture, headaches, gravity.... Working with Julian is so important to me because able to judge my abilities and push them just the right amount. He plans the workout so that I'm pushing my limits every session. While I whine and complain he gets me through it. Even with all the technology, YouTube ect...these are not workouts I could do on my own. Every session is different, challenging, and feels wholly customized so I may reach my goals. Working out with Julian may be my best decision of the year. My posture is so much improved, I have upper body strength *for the first time in my life*, I am able to do things I would never have done before and feel great (while I am still not thrilled with how I look,there are improvements, I actually will take my shirt off and swim. god, I missed swimming!) Working out is still hard and something I would never do if it were not for Julian. He is fun, engaging, smart, and a “hard a#$” when he needs to be. If you are wanting to feel better about yourself, feel stronger, happier, and joining the gym just does not do it for you...Julian will get you into shape!!
Training with Michael has been a great experience. From mapping out goals to working through sessions, he has kept me motived since the beginning! Having my right hip scoped back in 2014, I had been hesitant in getting back to doing certain exercises (squats, leg press, knee-ups, etc..) that would aggravate my hip. Michael worked on what I felt was comfortable in the beginning. He introduced stretches that opened up the hip joints. Focused on proper form (which is exactly what I had wanted to learn) when weight lifting. Within two months; I was able to deadlift, squat, and do jumping lunges without having hip issues. I'm very satisfied with my results after working with Michael, I plan to keep working with him in the future. -Altan A.

Chris helped me train for about a month and I have learnt so much from the sessions. He taught me the basics of strength training and how I could combine that along with my cardio sessions. I was getting very bored of my treadmill and Chris encouraged me to try new techniques to boost my training so that i could get a kick out of my work outs! He introduced me to circuits. During the trainings he kept me motivated and pushed me to work hard. I toned my body doing just those exercises. He was a great trainer and kept me motivated all through.
It's my first time trying personal training and I could not be happier! Robert is more than just a trainer; he is a coach pushing you each step of the way and motivates you to do your best. Personally for me, the goal was to lose weight and get in better shape, but definitely got way more than I expected. I am still in process of reaching my target (to lose 10 more pounds; already lost 10 pounds in first 2 month) but I already see results in my lifestyle and feel stronger, healthier AND happier. The training sessions are not easy, but Robert makes the whole process fun and I always look forward to challenging myself with something new. I highly recommend Robert to everyone who is ready to take the leap in their life and get on the path to be fit and live healthier.
We hired Don to come and lead three CPR trainings for our staff and we could not have been happier! Don was an excellent instructor who really made the training enjoyable for our staff, while being very effective at communicating the important information. He was professional, personable, articulate and a wonderful instructor all around. He answered all emails promptly and was a pleasure to work with in setting up the classes as well. We will most definitely be using him again for all of our CPR training needs!
I started working with Mr LaMont so that I could get back on track with exercising, and get back in shape after having my second child. He has been very great at personalizing my workouts, to fit my needs. He is accommodating when it comes time scheduling the workouts, and I appreciate his positive outlook on health and fitness. His personal training style, to me, is more of a teacher rather than a drill sergeant. I've worked out for years, from yoga to crossfit, and yet I am still learning new things from Mr LaMont.
I just recently started with Sam- and have had about 8 or 9 sessions with him. I think we are on a strong path together and I appreciate that he understands what my goals are, and more importantly, what they are not. For me, I am an ex-elite gymnast, who has been out of the game of that lifestyle for far too long. I went to Sam, to start to turn my sedentary adult life back around- get away from the desk- and get my endurance and strength back. Yes, I will ultimately have measurable goals to my training, but for now...I appreciate his patience and understanding that this is a marathon for me to change my entire lifestyle, one step at a time- while pushing me, but listening to me along the way. Also, he's fun to be around and he offers a great value that makes training with him easier on the long-term basis.
