Chef Kevin did a good job catering my father-in-law's 60th birthday. Guests were satisfied with the food especially the appetizers and the salmon part of our dinner choice. I would only suggest a little more variety in the flavoring as I felt that the rice, chicken (appetizers and dinner), pulled pork and salmon all had the same seasons and flavor. This was my first catering experience as well so perhaps it was my fault as well but his contract can be a little more detailed regarding what drop off catering services includes. Luckily I called to find out the size of trays the food would be served in to buy the warmers and also bought the serving utensils....I just wasn't prepared with serving platters to put the packaged bread on or for the different boxes of seasoned vegetables.
Chef Myles catered a repast lunch in Harrisburg, PA. With very short notice, Chef was able to provide a fresh, tasty lunch for a large group of people. The chicken and roast beef were delicious, not to mention roast potatoes, amazing macaroni and cheese, fresh fruit, tossed salad, and a variety of dessert items. Chef Myles was prompt and professional. Thank you so much for a wonderful luncheon!
Food was good. Roast beef was very moist. Service and clean up very good. We would use them again.
Chef Whitman cooked for a dinner party of ours and I have only two words to describe the experience, utterly amazing!!! The only part which topped Chef's professionalism was the amazing taste of her food. The entire experience far exceed our expectations. So much so that our guests are raving about it and we are looking for the next event we will have Chef Whitman cook for us. I have attended numerous social events but I can not recall one where the food was this good. The presentation of the food was outstanding. It started with a salad which was a prelude to the rest of the course. The salad was so outstanding it tasted like desert. I can't continue with the rest as my mouth has begun salivating and I would could not do it justice. Highly, highly, highly recommend if you want to have a great meal!!!!
Very easy to work with. Conducted practically the entire transaction by phone and e-mail. "Katie" from Catering was awesome working with us to pull this party off. The ham, red-skinned mash potatoes and the mac & cheese were big hits. The one complaint - such as it is - was the turkey was not craved meat from a bird. But instead some type of carved turkey roll product. It was very juicy, but not what people expected. I would definitely recommend Tortoise & Hare for your catering event.
We ordered a whole pig roasted and delivered to our event. The process was so easy to order what we wanted and to pay. The pig arrived 30 minutes before the event fresh from the smoker. Absolutely the best tasting pork I've ever had! Fantastic experience and we'll be using this caterer again.
I recently used Dinner on Demand to cater my graduation party. Not only was Chef B exceptionally professional but her food was delicious; two things you want from a chef! My favorite part of this process was collaborating with Chef B about the menu. I’m a one-note cook, making the same boring meals weekly, but together she helped me to come up with a menu that would satisfy my family and accommodate two of my friends’ special diets—one is vegan and the other has a gluten allergy. Typically party food for me is wings, chips and dip and some hot dogs and hamburgers. For my party, Chef B assembled muffuletta sliders on Hawaiian bread as the opening act. No boring chips and dip here! While we noshed on the sliders she sliced up the roasted brisket which was encrusted with garlic and sea-salt and served with chimichurri sauce. She also sautéed some sweet potato clear noodles with veggies and put together a mixed green salad with sliced pear, smoky bacon, blue cheese crumbles and chopped egg—a lovely mix of tangy and sweet. To top off this fantastic meal she made a homemade flan that was so tasty, folks in my family who “don’t eat that kind of stuff,” were tearing into the rich vanilla-laden custard with so much gusto, I had to put some to the side and stash in the back of the fridge. I would use Chef B’s services again. When you watch her cook you know this is what she loves to do and that love comes through the food.
I used Center of Town to cater a 50th Anniversary party for 50 people at Adelphi Mill. From the first contact, owner Kristel Wardell was responsive and helpful, offering good suggestions and making the party process easy. Kristel and her servers were professional and personable, and handled everything from set-up to clean-up. The food and decor that they provided were excellent. I would especially recommend the rosemary roasted chicken! The only reason for four stars rather than five is that there was a small problem with a time lag. I would use Center of Town again, however, and highly recommend them.
I had the pleasure of using the services of Delicious Diva5 for a bridal shower in August. I was not disappointed. Customer service and quality is very important to me. I received prompt service for the catering menu, amazing set up, using creative and fine cookware for display. Most importantly, the food was amazing. Great flavor and presentation. The bride is a picky eater; therefore, it was important that I have the appropriate food. The bride LOVED everything. From the wings, to the chicken salad to the deviled eggs, everything chose was delicious. I highly recommend the services of Delicious Diva5! You will not be disappointed!
