He is very friendly and easy to work with, but he gets straight down to business with what you are trying to achieve in the subject which for me was SAT. Gave a lot of tips and strategies on how to do well on the SAT, and gave warm up practice problems to do during the sessions and as homework. He will also not move on until you fully mastered the lesson being taught, so you're absolutely getting your money's worth!!
Bottom line: my grandson finally "gets" geometry!
My daughter Laura was struggling with algebra and geometry for a test. The tutor was fantastic. Much better value than other companies
Heather has been tutoring my 8-year old daughter in reading and math for over 2 years now. She came to us highly recommended by a fellow parent in our elementary school. We have been beyond pleased with her relationship with our daughter. Our child has multiple delays in academics and speech. Heather has been not only extremely patient, but she has customized her lessons to fit our daughter's needs. She is not afraid to change her plans to suit how our daughter will best learn at that time. She often revisits those original plans or lessons when she feels our daughter is ready for them. She also challenges our daughter when she feels it will best benefit her. She keeps our daughter engaged by learning through games and different activities, and she does movement breaks if needed. She is always on time for lessons and is very prompt about getting back to me if I have a question. Our daughter has made great progress under her wing, and we would highly recommend her!
Bennett has tutored me many times with varying math courses and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. (Multi variable calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra, analysis) He always has gone above and beyond such as checking out rooms at the library for us to use or staying longer if needed. One time he felt he took longer to explain something than he should have and dissatisfied with this, he worked with me for 15 minuets extra to make up for it. - This was totally unexpected and speaks to his integrity. Bennett has a great skill to explain things clearly and articulately rather than simply writing symbols on the board with the hope the student is following. He has helped me to more thoroughly understand the reasons why something is done in addition to grasping the concepts of the course, in a fundamental way, rather than just learning how to solve homework problems. Often he will explain the intentions of a concept before beginning a problem which implements it. Additionally, he has never been bothered by having to reexplain something 3 or 4 times to me. It's a joy to work with Bennett as he is not only the most intelligent tutor I have had but his passion for math is clear. We've had many discussions about ideas, not always related to the course work, but things I have read and wanted to learn more about - something many tutors would shy from due to not having a genuine curiosity and passion for math. Bennett also uses a "figure it out" mindset when tackling a new problem or one without an obvious answer. In summary, Bennett is the type of guy I want on my team if I'm in a spaceship and something goes awry because I know he could find a solution to the problem.
I would like to start off by saying, I was very nervous about hiring a tutor for my first grader! I wasn't sure about the dynamics of my daughter with someone she didn't know in our home working on "school stuff" that was already a topic of anxiety. But all that went out the window when we met Matt! My husband and I sat at the table with Matt and my daughter and presented her strengths and weaknesses. Matt jumped RIGHT IN and picked up on exactly what she needed help with within minutes. He kept it fun and exciting for her, even when she started to get tired. He used a calm voice and steady lessons to keep her engaged and LEARNING. Matt came right down to a first graders level and used simple words and instruction. After only two hours and the end of our session, she was mocking Matt's instruction and repeating numbers and sequences to her dad and I with confidence! Matt continued to encourage her through out the lesson and kept thing light and humorous. Evee was laughing and smiling with him from the first moment. My daughter is quite shy around strangers and by the time Matt left, out daughter not only shook his hand, but gave him a giant hug and asked me when he was coming back again. Matt is an amazing tutor and I would very HIGHLY recommend him to any parent looking for the extra help. He was energetic and made learning fun for my daughter. After only two hours, she had A LOT more confidence about Math and numbers and coins. Without any hesitation, I would tell any parent to not be nervous about hiring a tutor, and to feel assured and relaxed to hire Matt. There is not a single thing I would critique about his lesson or his ability to work with a 7 year old. He got right down to work and didn't waste a single moment of time. His lessons were full and easy-going and targeted our specific area of need. My husband and I absolutely loved working with Matt, he was an absolute pleasure. I would highly recommend him to any one! Thank you Matt and WyzAnt for putting our fears at ease and helping my daughter get up to par! Confidence in school work for my daughter is PRICELESS to me and I have Matt and WyzAnt to thank for taking a lot of the fear and panic out of getting there ourselves. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Ms. Raj is a dedicated educator who is committed to helping her students succeed. She is patient, hard working and resourceful. She goes above and beyond to help her students. As our son strived for perfect scores in Honors Geometry, his toughest math class yet, we have had excellent results under Ms. Raj's tutelage.
My 15 year old son is being tutored for Algebra 2. He went very unwillingly to the first session. He is eager for the next. Mr. Abron engaged him and gave him insight into why things were not working out for him. INSTANT CONFIDENCE! It also helped that he was nice, patient, smiling, and extremely knowledgeable about the content. He provided resources that the school was not providing and gave us a game plan that will carry him through the school week. Besides all of that, he strikes me as a wonderful, caring person to whom my son will make a stronger connection. Nurturing and fatherly conversation. Very, very satisfied!
I was studying for the GMAT, and since it had been over 20 years since my bachelors degree, I found myself struggling with the Quantitative Analysis section. A friend, who knew Lou Vierling, suggested that I give him a call and see if he could help. Lou walked me through the algebra and geometry questions on the sample tests. He has an amazing understanding of the material and a way to present it so that it is understandable. I would recommend Lou to anyone struggling with math and wish I would have had him as a tutor when I was in high school!
Nichol is an exceptional tutor! I've used her services to assist me in several chemistry courses and feel she goes over and beyond to help you succeed. She was very patient and took the time assess my strengths and weaknesses prior to starting our sessions. I appreciated her paying attention to my learning style so that she could properly assist me with learning the subject. She was flexible in terms of meeting times and locations. She's professional and an expert in many fields of study and I felt meeting with her was a valuable investment of time and money.
Jeremy clearly is a talented teacher who makes me laugh during lessons yet manages to explain even the most complicated stuff so well I can actually finally go to lessons without feeling like a complete idiot. Thanks, Jeremy!!!
Christine Kalcic was instrumental to my success at MSU as a premed student. She proved to be an asset to my success during my first semester, and I continued to work with her throughout the rest of my coursework. She is proficient in multiple subjects, and is excellent at breaking down material and getting you caught back up when behind. Christine was invaluable for exam prep and taught the material to truly understand it, not just to pass. Working with her taught me time management and how to approach very complex material and a tough course load. I truly feel very lucky and fortunate to have worked with her. I have recommended her to multiple students of various age, and she has done an excellent job with everyone. There is no way I could have taken on the course load I did without Christine, she is brilliant and just a really awesome and kind person!
My 11-year-old daughter had taken guitar & piano lessons from Michael over the course of 2 years. He was very flexible with times & even locations for the lessons.....a studio in Ypsilanti, a music room at a nearby music store....or your own home. Michael is old school & understands Music at all levels & as such, communicates with young kids very well. Michael is also a very patient instructor, which he had to be with my daughter. I highly recommend Michael as an instructor to any one.....no problem.
Marchella is an excellent and encouraging math tutor. She first started tutoring me in 6th grade and, over the course of a few years, tutored me in both algebra and geometry. Not only is she an amazing tutor but she is also a great role model and anyone would be lucky to have her!
Not only is Kelly an incredible tutor she relates really well with my 2 teenagers. They enjoy their lessons with Kelly as she makes them fun and interesting. As a result, neither of my kids ever complain or argue about their weekly sessions with Kelly! Most importantly, both my kids are in advanced math classes now and their grades are excellent. I highly recommend Kelly.
James Draper is an excellent tutor!! He's very professional and easygoing. He tutored me in basic math, algebra, geometry and etc. I would highly recommend his services.

We make students work on basic and simple concepts. We try to build several solutions for one problem to make you understand that the way you tackle a problem depends on your point of view. If you want to gather $1,000 in $5 and $10, you have N (the overall number of tens and fives), F (the number of fives) and T (the number of tens). Whichever of the quantity N, F, or T you are given, you can express the other two. If you want the best grasp of geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and probability, you have a good partner who will help you go beyond a weird vocabulary and make a link with problem-solving.
