I am one month into my personal trainer experience with David and my expectations have been exceeded. He listens! For the first time, I feel like I am getting a training program tailored just for me. He has paired fitness with nutrition to help reach my goals. He is supportive, but yet keeps me challenged.

Leanne has catered a luncheon and happy hour event for our company. She does an exceptional job coming up with menu ideas and the food has been wonderful! People within the company ask "who catered the food, it is delicious" We will continue to use Leanne for upcoming events and luncheons.

Adi has been a great influence on me even after just a week! Her home training is excellent and challenging. I also took her food demo class and that was great! She was very clear and had specific dietary recommendations for me and my family that are easy to follow. She is prompt, fun, and professional with lots of personal training and nutrition expertise. So glad I found her!

Angela and I are classmates at institute of integrative nutrition. We have worked together a couple times, and she has never fails to impress me with her amazing coaching skills ! Angela not only has some the best health coaching and holistic nutrition training but she has an intrinsic talent of helping people heal themselves by themselves. She has a vibe about her that makes you feel in trust, you can truly open up to her and let your body speak. As practice we have coached each other and every single time we speak, I am reminded that EVERYONE, everyone needs a Heath coach. One conversation can your life . Jerry is thoroughly knowledgable about almost all aspects of fitness, including nutrition, intense cardio fitness, weight training and body weight exercises. I've seen him work with people of every fitness level. For example Jerry helped me recover my healtb when my physician warned me I was going diabetic. But he's also helped train high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. As an experienced kick boxer, armed services veteran, and bouncer he can teach effective fighting and self defense too. Since Jerry runs his own gym he can tailor a workout for you which will be effective, affordable, and sustainable. Weither you're like me, trying to recover your heath, a serious body builder, or need to enhance your athletic super powers you need to schedule with Jerry today.

I have LOVED everyday of my training with Andrea! I signed up for the 3 month training and nutrition program. From day 1, she has been so helpful in getting me where I want to be. My meal plan is delicious and is made up of food I actually enjoy eating. My fitness training is challenging, and pushing me to my limits. Most importantly, I am able to see gains in the gym which I never was able to achieve on my own. She keeps me accountable and won't let me settle for anything other than hard work and determination and I love that! Andrea got me started on good supplements, and off the junk I was taking before, and has taught me how to use them and most importantly, why I need them. She is always there for me when I need some motivation to keep going, have some questions, or just need to talk about my goals. I am a college student, so my schedule is always jam packed, but she does a great job of working with me and being flexible and understanding when I'm busy. I feel healthier, am seeing gains in my muscles, and can feel the lifestyle change I am making. I make the gym a priority everyday, and that was something I used to avoid doing if I was busy. If you are thinking about making a lifestyle change and need someone to push you and help you out, Andrea is your girl!! 11/10 would recommend. If your thinking about personal training, pull the trigger and go to Andrea!!! You won't regret it!!

I started sedentary and decided to join the 8 week transformation program to keep me accountable. I received personal coaching addressing any previous injuries and health concerns. A program was tailored specifically for me including a professionally created meal plan. Which was affordable and tasty. In 8 weeks I lost 11pounds but more than that I gained confidence in my body and what I can push myself to do. It has been a year and I keep on eating and training. No diet here just real food and real coaching. No treadmills, no typical gym drama. We call ourselves familia and we bleed that. If someone is missing we call, we rally around each others success. We share in each others lives. Everyone starts at a different part of their life and no session is a race against others. I have been through a lot this year and TFW has been key to keeping me healthy and sane. Don't spend hours at a gym, train here for 25 minutes and make the most of your time and body. Lace up and never look back. It's better to be sore for a little while from training than to be unhappy with yourself. I am TFW, you can be too. Believe in yourself and we believe in you.

If you want to have a stronger, sculpted, and healthy body USE JOE! I was super motivated to get back in shape to look great for my daughters wedding so I decided to hire a personal trainer. I interviewed several but, chose Joe because he had the fitness knowledge and training I was looking for. I also loved the Fit Studios' private, professional and clean environment. For starters, I committed to working out 3 days a week with Joe for an extended period of time prior to the wedding. I also did other cardio/exercises, he suggested, on my "off workout" days during the week. I ABSOLUTELY got the results I wanted and more! My friends and family at the wedding couldn't quit complimenting me on how great I looked! What a bonus! Before Joe, I hadn't worn shorts for several years because my legs were so out of shape. Now I get compliments on my legs and love to show them off! BTW...I'm a 50+ year old female and I didn't think results like these were possible for me anymore! I'm always impressed with how much Joe is invested in my personal success and how much he knows about getting fit inside and out. Not only has he gotten me back in shape but he's helped me with my nutrition and makes sure I'm taking the correct supplements. He truly cares that I'm getting the results I want. Joe's program works and I'm so much healthier and fit because of him. Yes, it's an investment in time and money but for me it is time and money WELL SPENT!!!! If you want to commit to a better NEW YOU, call Joe. He'll make a difference in your life.. I promise. He did mine! Debbie - Overland Park, KS

After hearing about Custom Fittness Consulting from a friend and reading other reviews, I decided to give the training/diet programs a try to boost my fitness level and get in better shape and CFC did just that. Adam was both encouraging and helpful.. I found the programs easy to follow, but I was still able to step out of my comfort zone by trying new workouts and I began seeing progress within just a few weeks. In the past, it has been difficult for me to eat a balanced diet because I am vegan, which eliminates a lot of foods I can eat.. but Adam was accommodating with my meal plan and made sure I got the right amount of all my macros. Overall, this is a great company and I've had nothing but positive experiences in training with them! They work with people of all levels of fitness and can help you reach any goal you're working towards. If/when I decide to do a fitness show in the future, Adam will be the first one I call!

Bethany was very knowledge and extremely helpful in her recommendations, even beyond what she had planned for the IBS and Chronic Inflammation Workshop. She provided great resources at the workshop and well as resources and samples to take home. I love learning from Bethany and her wealth and variety of nutrition knowledge!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
