We hired Cristina for our wedding and reception. She was an absolute delight to work with. She has a wonderful eye and brings a great energy to a room. She went above and beyond in every aspect, including offering to help with makeup! She is confident and we chuckled when she was getting poised in branches of a tree saying "I have a vision!" Cristina kept us up to date with everything via facebook, her "sneak peek" she posted was phenomenal! My guest were so surprised she had pictures posted that night! She truly captured our day, and make the whole experience fun.

Courtney took our wedding photos. She did a beautiful job. The only issue we had was actually receiving the photos. It took longer than expected to receive them. That is the only thing that could be improved.

My husband and I needed a last minute photographer for our wedding. We had a beach wedding planned in Florida, but had to change the location a few days before the wedding date due to hurricane Irma. Juliana responded to my Thumbtack inquiry right away and was very responsive. She and her husband shot our small wedding and part of our reception. I've only seen a preview of the pictures, but so far, my husband and I are beyond thrilled with the way they turned out! We couldn't be happier with the way things turned out, even if it wasn't originally planned.

We had the opportunity to utilize DJ Stann and his music services at our wedding last month and he did an outstanding job. Stann worked with us to help us create a fantastic atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. He was open to any suggestions and he did a great job of assisting us with our timeline of events to help the evening run smoothly. DJ Stann is versed in all genres of music and would be great choice for weddings, and he would also be a great choice if you ever need a DJ. He set the tone and the great vibes for a wonderful evening, if you get a chance, you should most certainly use him at your event!

Amanda and Matt are truly amazing at what they do! We hired them for our Wedding and couldn't be happier with the decision. While searching for entertainment we interviewed several companies, none of which cared to really get to know us on a personal level the way Amanda did. She took the time to learn about us so that she could chose music that would fit who we are. She listened to our input and gave us some ideas that we would have never even considered (she really knows her stuff). Both her and Matt kept the entire night flowing, getting guests to shift from cocktail hour into dinner, moving into cake cutting, speeches, first dances, etc. It was perfect and never a dull moment! Not only do they do a great job at the music part, but they really care to help out with other things as much as possible. As we sat down to try and fit in a quick bite Matt was rushing to get us drinks and anything else we needed - keeping the party going and keeping the bride and groom happy - wow! They adjusted to the crowd and were flexible when requests were made while honoring our 'do not play' list. We know they did their job well because our guests have been raving about how much fun they had and how wonderful the DJs were! In the end, I can not say enough about aMAC entertainment, they made our wedding a huge hit. Thank you Amanda and Matt!

Overall DJ Brandon is who made my experience with this company great. After you communicate with the office via email, they begin setting up your consultation. From there, you communicate with the DJ. I met with Brandon and discussed what I envisioned for my wedding. He provided great feedback as to what he suggested for each song and insight into how the wedding's schedule typical goes. Out of all the vendors I used, he was the most helpful in creating an expectation for the itinerary of the day.... Which really settled my mind and helped with my expectations. Now the day of the wedding, I barely spoke to him! Which believe it or not is a good thing- not because he wasnt attentive but because he knew what he was doing and had everything taken care of. He kept the day moving according to schedule. Since our photographer took up the majority of our time at the wedding, we didnt get a lot of time to dance and enjoy the music- although our guests definitely did!!! I am mostly thankful for his time management skills- If it werent for him, our entire wedding may have been spent taking photos!!! He had to come over and get us back on schedule since our photographer just wanted to keep shooting away photos.......THANK YOU BRANDON! You were more than awesome!

Matt was very professional, extremely friendly. He brought a trainee with him to the ceremony and it was no extra charge since we hadn't planned on having two photographers in the first place. Matt was so fun, all of my wedding party and guests absolutely loved him, and he truly did stay with us from the time I got to church the morning of my wedding until the reception was winding down--almost 12 hours!! The cost was perfect, Matt was so fun to work with! My husband and I were very pleased, we would absolutely recommend Matt and Jukeboxx Media to anyone looking for a professional photographer, for any event!!

We loved having Thomas as our photographer for our wedding day. He was friendly, professional, made us feel relaxed and have fun, and the quality of his work was second to none. Not only did we get some great formal photos throughout the day but he caught some of the most natural candid moments of the day which have stuck with us ever since. We LOVED the photos he produced, and still to this day we look back on those photos and feel like we are right back there. I would highly recommend Thomas for any photography projects from the most personal to the most professional. - Cameron & Susannah

Classic and Timeless photos! What attracted me to Brooke from the start was her use of natural light which was the number one thing I needed in my wedding photos. She's very quick and professional at getting the pictures to the client. Most of my photos are good quality, but I wished to have expressed to her a little more variety and close-ups of my husband and I.

Jim worked with(and around!) my hectic wedding schedule, going so far as to accommodate my sudden date change without giving me ANY grief over it. His price is the best I was able to find, and the pictures turned out great! I only have a "Sneak Peak" so far, but it was around 100 photos and he got them to me the day after the wedding. An amazing professional who will do your wedding justice.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
