Rock U Studios, Inc. d.b.a. Rock University

    (2 reviews)

We offer one on one lessons for Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano/Keyboard, and vocal training. Our lessons are for all ages and all experience levels from the true beginner or the professional musician working on improving a skill. We partnered with Music 49's instructors and now offer all styles of lessons including rock, pop, country and gospel as well as classical. For students between 7 and 18 , we offer a band program to put those lessons to good use playing in a real band. The band program advances learning rapidly in a team environment and it is also a lot of fun. Summer Special Beginner Drum lessons four 30 minute lessons for only $75. Thursday Guitar Lessons Four 30 minute sessions for 75.00 I love everything about watching young students shine on stage. Even the most shy students come out of their shell after they get that first performance behind them! It's amazing. I also love the fellowship among the families of the music students. We have students who started at Rock U when we were new and have grown up, graduated and moved on to music degrees, music careers and successful bands. We love supporting local music of all types, but when a band who's member(s) came from Rock U makes it all the better.

    Groovin Guitar Lessons

    (1 reviews)

I teach beginning to intermediate guitar. Mostly rock classics to today's music. I have a heavy blues foundation for lead style but can play/teach almost anything. I've been playing for 30 years. Approach is play by ear supplemented with printed tablature notes and chord blocks. It's very easy and fast to learn this way.

Thumbtack Spotlight

Voice Instruction Charlotte

(18 reviews)

Most of my students are interested in popular genres such as rock, R&B, jazz, country, with a small minority interested in classical. I offer a low-risk way to check me out with an introductory lesson that is almost half off my normal fee for an hour lesson.

Robert Wendell has been teaching voice for more than 20 years. He has studied voice two to three times a week at New England Conservatory under an internationally recognized voice teacher. After years of teaching, Robert noticed that students are happy in finding out that the most efficient, effective way to use the voice is also the most natural. He loves to see the lit-up faces of his students upon discovering that their natural voice feels delicious to the body, sounds wonderful to the ear and using it that way is a lot easier.

I enjoy the more talented students because of how quickly they respond to my teaching and I enjoy the less talented ones because they are the most challenging and force me to be creative. When I later apply what I've learned from them to my most talented students, these then take off like a rocket. So I enjoy them all.

If you want an effective voice teacher who can bring out the best in you, choose Robert Wendell who finds fulfillment in witnessing his students discover the magic that happens on their voice improvement.
