Mike was very responsive during scheduling and he fixed my washing machine in under 20 minutes. It was kind of expensive for only being 20 minutes, but I was just happy to have my washing machine in working order again. Very professional and left everything clean. Thanks Mike!

Joe saved me from having to buy a new washing machine! He took the time to find out what was wrong with mine and fixed it promptly saving me $400! I had a previous company out to my house and refused to help me, they told me the job was too big for them. Where there's a will, there's a way for Joe. He's the BEST.

The complaint: My Samsung washing machine would not spin of drain water. Jim was completly professional We set the time for him to come and asses the work that needed to be done. He went the extra effort to ensure everything went well. he also took the time to appropriately diagnosis the problem. Versus some repairman who just want to replace parts. I feel confident to recommend Jim to anyone.

Request was made and he quickly responded, provided me in detail how he could assist, a quote and his availability. He thoroughly answered my questions and addressed my concerned before AND during the service. It only took him ( alone ) a few hours to complete a monstrosity of a job that many said would take 6-8 hours with two people. When finished putting together the Smith machine and all of its accessories, he even cleaned up the area and took all of the packaging with him! I didn’t have to worry about hauling it away myself! I will definitely be calling Landen for all of our handyman services. Oh—- and He didn’t mind my praise and worship in the background. He was sing “Amen” too!

Even though we decided to purchase a new washing machine instead of fixing our old one, I do appreciate the quick response I received and the personalized message. If our machine wasn’t 8 years old, we’d definitely use this contractor to fix it.

Steve responded quickly to my request for someone to come out and take a look at my washing machine the next day. He communicated throughout the day to let me know when he would be arriving and arrived within the agreed upon time frame. Steve was very knowledgable, informed me of a maintenance item I should be doing and let me know what the issue was when discovered. Although it was an easy fix he also took the time to balance the machine for me as well. I would highly recommend Steve's Appliance Repair to anyone and will definitely use him again if the need arises. Thank you!

Washing machine repair. Prompt and friendly service. Less than an hour to repair. The washing machine is working fine and now we know that Always Running Appliances Repair can help to keep it that way. Oh, he also gave a little maintenance lesson tip. How cool is that!! We have already recommended this company to others as it was recommended to us. Fair pricing too!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
