I recently used Zacki’s Creations to come into our home and prepare a Mother’s Day brunch for a group of 10 adults and 3 little ones. Zacki was extremely responsive to my initial request for a quote, and very helpful in offering suggestions when creating a menu. The food was delicious with blueberry pancakes made fresh and hot off the griddle, egg and sausage casserole straight from the oven, a fresh fruit platter, and fresh mandarin orange mimosas. In addition to giving me the chance to be a guest at our family get together, she invited my 5 year old son and 4 year old niece to help as her “sous chefs” in the kitchen and they had a blast being her little helpers. I would definitely recommend Zacki to anyone who is looking to host an event in their home without having the added pressure and stress of preparing/cooking the meal so that you may enjoy your visit with friends and loved ones.
For my mom's 70th birthday, we decided to have a surprise dinner party. (For the record, I'm a professional event planner based in DC and work with a number of hotels, chefs and caterers.) After talking to Chef Nico for less than a minute, I knew he was the one for this special occasion. He came up with a super creative menu, was attentive to every detail, and enchanted all of the dinner guests. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!
We’ve used Em’s catering for both large events and small meals (like a delivery meal to a new mama). She is consistently professional and her food is great. While some chef’s excel in one particular area, all of Em’s food (from appetizers to main dishes, sides, and desserts) are wonderful. Our personal favorites are: Beef Wellington, mushroom risotto, grilled romaine Caesar, warm pumpkin cake, and her yearly Christmas cookies. (I have Em bake cookies for all of my kids teachers) She’s sweet and easy to work with-highly recommend!
Chef Matthew prepared a 50th Anniversary tour of my in-laws lives together. He came to my home, prepared all the food, had incredible servers that came and helped with everything else. From setting up, passing food, making sure the punch and wine were refilled and cutting the cake. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone at the party was raving about it. When the party was over, they cleaned up everything. I swear, my oven is cleaner than when he got here!!! They even started a load of kitchen towels in the laundry room. This was an amazing experience with a very talented chef!!! It makes me want to have more parties so that I can hire him again. The cost was a lot less than we had expected also, but we had no idea what something like this would cost. I highly recommend Chef Matthew!!!!!

I have never tasted such good cakes made to order. I have missed Katelyn immensely since she left Charlotte to move to Raleigh. She is the best pastry chef. You will not regret ordering from her. My favorite carrot cake and the apple with spice. Miss you girl!!!
Maggie was an incredible caterer to work with! I'm so glad she reached out to me. My husband and I are vegan, so it was important to us to find a caterer that could create tasty, plant-based food for our wedding. Maggie was able to craft a menu with dishes from around the world and we received a ton of compliments during dinner from our guests on the food. Oak and Dagger was a pleasure to work with start to finish-- from the planning of our event to the execution! Our particular event was a 50-60 guest “meet and mingle” with some business training mixed in. We did an hour of “brews and bites” followed by a PowerPoint seminar and Q&A session, spending the remainder of our evening socializing and relaxing in the fun brewery atmosphere with our customers. Oak and Dagger was an excellent venue for this with their back bar dedicated to our event, and the semi-private seating area was ideal for our presentation. Assistant General Manager Rachel Bender responded quickly to my information request with details, pricing, and availability. Chef Monica Molina worked with me on selecting food and beverages to fit our budget and a range of tastes and it was delicious and presented well-- not your average, boring banquet food. On-site, the event staff was friendly, helpful, and pro-active in meeting our needs for setup, service, and breakdown-- thank you to our server, Drew, and bartender, Duke. Their location is convenient and easy to find, and parking is ample and free. Whether you’re planning a personal or business event, this professional event planner highly recommends considering Oak and Dagger Public House!
I have used Terri and her Food Fairies for 5 years or more. She and her team always provide incredibly delicious food at an incredible price. I throw components at her like tight schedule, and needing all local and organic food, with mostly vegetarian and vegan thrown in to boot, and with energy and positive enthusiasm she delivers. She provides recipes after the fact (and the groups she caters for me almost always want them -- even the carnivores in the group find themselves asking for the vegie recipes), and has worked in difficult conditions, such as kitchens without all the nice amenities, with the results still being stellar.
