The tutor my daughter had was very sweet and very patient with geometry. We chose to do the online tutoring.
My son greatly benefitted having weekly mathematic lessons over the Skype. I would highly recommend Mr Mudiappa for any A level student needing help with Mathematics. Dr S De Silva GP-UK
Cindy was very professional and taught geometry in a way that catered to my son's learning style.
As a homeschool mom, I highly recommend the Language Arts enrichment activities. It's a great supplement to any homeschool. Michelle is very creative in her lessons. She has turned my ASD son from a reluctant reader to an excited reader. Well worth the time and investment.
Practical and straightforward Mandarin lessons. I am enjoying them very much!
Silvia has been teaching me Spanish for over a year and I couldn't be happier with my experience. She is a native speaker, and most importantly, she has a deep understanding of modern language teaching methods and the necessary emotional conditions for students to be successful. Teaching Spanish is clearly a passion for her. She constantly challenges me not only to learn the grammar and vocabulary of the language, but to use the mechanics in creative ways. She draws on all kinds of materials, including movies, short stories, and improv games and gets me to think critically about what I have seen, all while using Spanish. She is flexible and curious, and lessons are always fun.
To Whom It May Concern: June 18th, 2014 I am writing to recommend as highly as possible Dr. Raymond Vazquez as a tutor. I am the mother of two children who were in middle school in 2008, a 6th-grader and an 8th-grader, and Raymond tutored both of them in a manner tailored to their difficulties and with great professionalism and results. My daughter Dawn, the 8th grader, was struggling in her math class, having trouble thinking critically about the word problems they began giving her that year. She would read the problems too superficially and plug the numbers she saw into formulas that didnt necessarily apply to a given problem, yielding random results. She had earned all As and Bs through the end of 7th grade and had tested into early algebra I, but she failed the first math test that had these word problems and I was worried that she might fail 8th grade math. My son Noah presented an even more difficult challenge, as he was not only failing 6th-grade math and science, but had been diagnosed with oppositional-defiant disorder (ODD) and was unruly in and out of class and very difficult to teach. I saw an advertisement for Ray on a bulletin board in the supermarket and I was immediately impressed that he had a science doctoral degree, that he accepted students with behavioral problems, and that he offered customized lesson plans. My children needed that! Also, his rate was very reasonable which was something my family required at the time. I knew Ray was going to be great with my children within minutes after he entered our home. He chatted easily with both Dawn and Noah, and praised Noah for a clever joke he had made seeming to sense what an ODD child needed to avoid an immediate power struggle! He worked with Noah first, starting with math (fractions) and then moving to science (the solar system). Ray determined the level of Noahs knowledge in both areas quite quickly, and keeping the mood friendly and respectful, Ray zeroed in on Noahs misconceptions, starting at a more basic level the level of his current knowledge -- than was assumed in his current homework assignments. Ray made learning about fractions fun, along the way teaching Noah something more advanced about prime numbers that he encouraged Noah to share with his math teacher. At the end of the session, Noah felt proud of his progress and he was somehow easier to manage that evening. Dawn was a more natural student to teach, but her status as an advanced student (she was taking algebra in 8th grade) was threatened by her performance in class. As with most students in Florida, Dawn had been taught to the tests she had to take regularly, the FCATs. Reasoning about word problems eluded her because she had never developed critical thinking skills for numerical reasoning despite her high intelligence and strong work ethic. Ray quickly determined that she couldnt mathematically express simpler concepts stated in words, and build up her ability to do so rapidly and effectively. Her math grades improved dramatically in only a few weeks. I couldnt recommend Ray more highly. If you would like to speak with me further please contact me through Thumbtack. Sincerely, Pamela F.
Peter set a very good foundation for my skills in Algebra, Geometry, and English. He was patient, kind, and able to effectively answer many of my questions. Would recommend him to any student.
Knowledgeable easy to understand, with a structured system that takes you step by step through guitar basics, and ear training, on to intermediate level well prepared
Glen has tutored all four of my children, grades 7 through 12, has given them confidence in their math skills and has helped them raise their grades. He is a kind, patient man who tailors his teaching method to each child. He is a great believer of being one step ahead of the next lesson to help the child be a confident learner. We are truly fortunate to have had Glen as a tutor and we are sorry to see him leave Massachusetts. His shoes will be hard to fill and we will miss him greatly.
Emma tutored me on the math required for the GRE including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. She was very patient with me and did a great job explaining the concepts when they didn't click. I went from failing the GRE math subsection prep tests to passing in a matter of weeks and was eventually accepted into the number one grad school for my profession.

If you or your child are like most people, you have a variety of interests and skills. The way our school system is designed suits certain personality types more than others. That's inevitable. When you invent a whole system for mass education, it will fit some people better than others but imagine how great it would be to find a place that allows you to learn just what you want to at your own pace and making whatever connections you wanted. Individualize your learning with our math, English and music tutors. For instance, what if your son seriously wants to learn how to play guitar and also needs math tutoring or test preparation, or let's say, your daughter doesn't like school athletics but is curious about yoga and you also want her to get some graphic design experience for college and her eventual career? Can you fulfill all these needs in one educational setting? Yes! DoveFox's math, English and music tutors are ready for you! DoveFox Studios (DFS) is a K-12 tutoring center that was founded by Jon Christie, an experienced music and math teacher who has taught high school. He knows the pros and cons of the school system, and he founded DFS to address the gaps providing an innovative, flexible, highly individualized learning approach. DFS has a team of over 30 qualified math, English, and music tutors who teach an inspiring range of topics, including the following: * AP calculus and physics * Test preparation: SAT, EOC, and GRE * Pilates and yoga * Tons of music: piano, guitar, percussion, orchestral, instruments, voice and theory * Professional audio and recording and more Our tutors in math, English, music, and other subjects will meet you in your home or in comfortable, professional studios or offices, all for a very affordable rate. Call or e-mail us today! You won't find this diverse range of topics in school or in any other tutoring center. Individualized learning plans: What do we mean by individualized? At DFS, we believe in practical application of what you're learning. We believe you learn best when your instructor is aware of your own style. We provide instruction that is organic and flexible tailored to the student, whether individually or in small groups. Imagine, for instance, that you are learning piano. After gaining basic skills, you want to know how to accompany groups, like choirs or other singing groups at school or church. Your math tutor can arrange for you to learn accompaniment skills. We don't follow a set curriculum. You have a part in designing what you're learning! Your English tutor can select stories that you are interested in to teach you what you want to know. Your music tutor can introduce you to the world of professional music, show you around a recording studio, introduce you to professional performers. Call us today, and let's explore the exciting possibilities!
My services include: * Math - I have 17 years experience teaching Math. My students learn because they have fun while they are learning and then practicing what they have learned. My teaching is grounded in the latest brain research. * Guitar - I have performed coast-to-coast with my group and as a solo singer, accompanying myself on guitar. I have been playing guitar for 54 years. * Trumpet - I currently play trumpet in the New Horizons Swing Band and in the Duke OLLI Concert Band. All instruction is based on the principals of physics, not just the copying of popular players.
I've been emerged in what I do, and work on it every day. I have performed with several chamber choirs, and state choirs, and have a lot of experience with learning, and performing, and just the art of it in general.
You have the option of having piano lessons at the teacher's or student's home. Students love taking piano lessons, and the students love their teacher. They have the most unstressful and most successful music education experience ever. This teacher has taught many excellent piano methods and can tailor lessons to the student's age, skill level and interest. Lessons include learning how to study classical, jazz, popular and sacred music. Students have fun learning about how to read, interpret, and play the piano in making music. Student's have a standing appointment (30, 45, or 60 minutes) with their teacher. They learn how to play the piano, along with learning about how to study piano and what kind of strategies make for effective and efficient practice. They know how to practice, and they have a great deal of input in to what kind of music they learn. A conservatory-level music professor, this teacher holds a master's degree in music  music pedagogy  and 35 years of experience teaching students of all ages and stages. Scheduling is flexible, and rates are reasonable. I have many years of professional performance in piano and organ. Students have the performing opportunities to play on recitals.
