I have been one of Suzanne's guitar students for several years in an evening group lesson situation at a local high school. I like Suzanne's enthusiasm and creativity in a lesson environment. I also admire how quickly she can deconstruct a song and make it playable for the class. Suzanne does an excellent job of balancing learning new songs and teaching the theory behind them without slowing down the fun. Her students seem to quickly pick up the guitar and enjoy playing it almost from day one. I especially like that there is "no fault" if an adult student has trouble finding time to practice between lessons. Of course, without practice, it is hard to improve quickly. Sometimes we work on a song that isn't one I'd choose. But this exposes me to other music genres and provides new learning elements. Suzanne asks us for input of which songs we'd like to learn, so the occassional "dud" song isn't really a problem. As the skills of the class continue to improve, it might be interesting to have class members bring a song to discuss/improve with input from their peers and Suzanne - think of a writer's workshop. For a fun guitar lesson experience, I highly recommend Suzanne.
I took guitar lessons from Paul Warren at the Raleigh Music Academy for about two years. Paul was great and was able to customize a lesson plan for me to advance my playing ability faster. In addition to invididual instruction, the RMA has student shows so each student gets an opportunity to play in a live setting and gain greater experience and knowledge through interaction with other students. Each summer the RMA has a guitar workshop and guitar clinic where they bring in a well-known guitarist which gives students an opportunity to learn directly from a professional musician and participate in a Q & A with the artist. The RMA is great and really professionally run. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve as a musician whether they're a beginner or advanced player.
First lesson; wife and I back to back. Kelli is very approachable, has a beautiful voice and is a good match for us regarding song/music styles. We're both happy about how we're starting out; seems like a good approach for us. I already play guitar and need vocal help for song/praise/worship scenarios as well as strength for public speaking; Kelli is focused on our needs and interest.
Charlie has been teaching acoustic guitar to my 13 year old son for 7 years. He is an excellent instructor that is very patient with beginners. My son has made great progress in these 7 years and has expanded his lessons to include piano and dobro which Charlie has supported and instructed him in also. I would recommend Charlie to instruct any beginners in guitar, piano or dobro.
Vernon was very quick to respond. We spoke on the phone to set up my lessons. He sounds very nice. Have my first lesson in December and am looking forward to it.
My son has not started his guitar lessons yet (first one is today!) however, Devin has been extremely responsive and on time with his communications! Looking forward to meeting him!
Being able to be taught by Terry was a great experience. You can tell that he loves music and teaching others about music. His passion is contagious and this makes the lessons both enjoyable and advantageous. I highly recommend him for any student. Money well spent.
Very knowledgeable. Looking forward to working with him!
Abanoub taught me how to play guitar, in his place. it took about 4 weeks for me to be good. Abanoub is very impressive he is professional and a real artist, he made from me a very good guitarist. I think he has nothing to do to improve himself.
I've been emerged in what I do, and work on it every day. I have performed with several chamber choirs, and state choirs, and have a lot of experience with learning, and performing, and just the art of it in general.
My goal is to provide the highest-quality, best-valued guitar lessons around. I teach the major components of music (melody, harmony, rhythm, theory, reading, ear training, technique, improvisation) through songs the student wants to play. Lessons are custom fitted to each individual student's taste, style, and goals. I teach rock, blues, jazz, folk, country, and pop, from beginner through advanced. All ages are welcome. I specialize in starting complete beginners the right way, and transforming existing players into improvising and composing musicians. I truly care about my students and enjoy nothing more than when they improve and succeed!
I primarily teach beginning to intermediate guitar. I start with the basics: correct posture and identification of the guitar itself. I like to start with a few basic chords and (depending on the student) the major and minor scales.

Have you ever desired to play Beethoven's Fur Elise of Sonatas, the Theme to Star Wars or Harry Potter, or just Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star? Have you ever wanted a talent that will relieve stress, dazzle others, or enable you to play what you hear on the radio? You want to learn the piano, or give a child the gift of music that will last a lifetime. I can help. I teach beginning piano to all ages. The first lesson is a free trial, so the student can evaluate my teaching. I can also teach viola lessons. I can also refer the students to more advanced (and expensive) teachers when they are past the point that I can teach them. I also play the pipe organ for Tabernacle Baptist in Raleigh and accompany 3 choirs on piano and organ.
