About

My son who is 13 years old, started seeing Vic for algebra tutoring a few weeks ago as he fell behind at school. Vic was very easy to get in touch with, very professional and full of positive energy when we initially talked. When Vic started coming, my son immediately responded to his energetic and friendly demeanor. He also easily understood all the concepts they covered together since. It has just been a few weeks, but I feel that he was able to gain confidence and deeper understanding already. He looks forward to exploring his math potential with Vic's expert help. And I am grateful that there are teachers out there like Vic.

Charles is an excellent tutor! He was professional, helpful, and radically improved my math score for the GRE. If I had to take the test again, I would absolutely hire Charles again (but thankfully, I don't, because he helped me so much the first time around!). If you're looking for a tutor to help you achieve real results, you've found him.

About

Rodrigo is the best Economics tutor I have had. The first time that I used him as a tutor was in 2009 while I was pursuing my BA at Columbia University. He was instrumental in helping increase my performance on exams and consequently my final grade in a very difficult course that combines both Micro and Macro. Three years later when I began my Master's at Columbia as well, he tutored me for Econ for a year straight, for both Micro and Macro. He greatly helped improve my grades on both courses. Rodrigo is very patient and understanding; he never makes you feel uncomfortable. A huge plus is that he is also a Math tutor so he can help you grasp mathematical concepts that are essential to doing well in Econ. I highly recommend Rodrigo. He is also an excellent Statistics tutor.

Isabel and I have studied the art of tutoring together. She is amazing at what she does and tutoring is very important to her. Helping others achieve success has been her goal and she enjoys the stories that she hears in return. She has personality training and knows what motivates one does not always motivate another. Isabel works for results and she gets them. I have heard many testimonials of what her clients do and am quite impressed. I highly recommend Isabel as a tutor. She will not diasappoint!!

About

I am a private tutor of grades kindergarten through high school in Reading and Writing and for kindergarten through 6th in Math. I help students meet their goals for the Common Core Standards and SAT writing. I also help ESL students with conversation, reading and writing skills and work with college students and business people on research and papers. I love helping my students to develop a sense of their own worth and independent judgment. With a bachelors degree from Yale University, my previous work experience includes work in a charter school where I helped elementary-level students to improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and spelling. Additionally, I helped them to sharpen their math skills, including addition, subtraction, and fractions and with applied mathematical concepts, such as symbols, telling time, and making change. I have also spent over 20 years with a large life insurance company where I was an educator, writer, and editor in various departments, including customer service and advertising compliance. My work for the company always involved writing clear and concise communications as well as explaining complex financial products and multifaceted procedures to clients and staff. I go about my work gently, with lots of patience, sympathy, and a sense of humor, and I believe these are the reasons I am able to see improvements in my students. I like to use materials with engaging exercises to help students remember what they are reading, writing, etc. and to involve them in conversations, so that they can be encouraged to use correct English. I like to ask questions to make sure that a student has grasped the material. You will find me to be communicative, warm, and attentive to details, quick to ascertain where you need help, but not judgmental, and you will feel comfortable with me easily. I will help bring out the best in you, but you will not feel unnecessarily pushed.

Was my potential unlocked? Yes! I was struggling in my Precalculus class last year and until I came to Accel Learning for help, only then was I able to understand the concepts in math class. Currently, I'm working on mastering some sections in Trignometry. Amish Bhavsar truly cares about his students and will go out of his way to make sure they are understanding the concepts.

This is because parents naturally provide basic needs for their children and should leave their academics to professionals who will meet specific needs of the child at a different level. "70% of academic excellence is outside the classroom," and that is why I am here to make the impossible a possibility through friendship.
