My workouts consist of non-stop movements which burn calories and focus on core-body exercises along with balance and flexibility. I started out as a personal trainer working in a "big box" gym, where clients were constantly shuffled from trainer to trainer pretty much anonymously, and where trainers were given almost no advanced knowledge to prepare for sessions, get to know their clients, or even begin to address the unique reasons why the person they were putting through a generic workout designed on the fly wasn't making progress. Needless to say, I found the whole experience frustrating (and I'm sure my "clients" did too!). When I arrived at Evolution Fitness, a private training gym with a strong focus on the individual, I was able to thrive. Here, I have found tremendous support for my belief that the best investment I can make towards getting my clients the results they want is to take the time to observe them carefully and listen to them fully. That is how I discover their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations in order to design a truly personal fitness program. It is not my job to become my clients' best friend; however, it is absolutely my job to get to know them--and to help them get to know themselves--so that they can break past whatever is holding them back from living in their best body possible. While addressing physical weaknesses is critical, whether it's a weak posterior chain, muscle imbalances, poor posture (or all three or something else entirely), I know that fitness is mostly built outside of the gym. So, I focus on nutrition, sleep, stress, daily movement patterns (like sitting all day at a desk or spending hours commuting around town), and recreational habits as an integral part of helping my clients to achieve their goals. All of this takes time. All of this takes research and meticulous dedication to program creation. All of this is why my services stand out. But, most importantly, all of this is why my clients get results. I enjoy getting to know each client--and the puzzles they each present to me: why can't I lose weight? will I ever be able to do a full push-up? or pull-up? or deep squat? why do I always eat sugar, even when I really, really don't want to? why does my lower back always hurt, even though the doctors say there is nothing really wrong with it? ...and getting to witness their breakthroughs!(show more)

What do you love about your job?
I love that I am bringing an option to relieve pain without the use of pain medicines, injections or possible surgery. I have seen amazing transformations with clients that have failed with the traditional physical therapy. We have helped hundreds of people live pain-free and it is our passion to keep helping people at any stage.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
My biggest inspiration was my mom. She had a high blood pressure, was overweight and struggled with stress. She told me "You need to pull this together." She had been to cardiologists, dietitians, personal trainers, doctors and no one says the same thing. She passed away 1 week later from a massive heart attack at 53. Her frustration was always in the back of my mind while I was performing physical therapy. Patients were telling me I was different and I helped them understand their health. So after remarrying, I was inspired to open a clinic that would "pull it all together".
