By training with Turk I find myself working harder than I thought I could, getting results I didnt know I could get, and wanting to do more. I hired Turk because of his expertise on both weight training and nutritional planning. I was looking to gain muscle, and have always been on the slender side so I knew I needed a trainer that would help me eat right as well. Our first session focused on designing a meal and workout plan tailored to help me reach my goals. Having grown up an athlete, I was no stranger to the gym. What I didnt realize is how many exercises I had been doing wrong all my life. Turk has taught me to use proper technique to maximize the results of the workouts. I have been working with Turk for 3 months, am already in better shape than ever, and have no intention of stopping now. Because of his encouragement and the progress he has help me make so far, I have gone from wanting to simply put on muscle to being motivated to train with him for next years NPC bikini competitions. I highly recommend Turk for anyone who is serious about working with a trainer for whatever your goals may be.
Travis is a great trainer to work with. He asks a lot of questions and is genuinely interested in your specific goals, with a really healthy focus on nutrition and full-body health, including guidelines for when to eat, how much sleep to aim for, workouts outside of a gym (when traveling), and more. Travis is easy-going and attentive I can't say how many times I pinged him with a question via email or text to which I usually got a fairly prompt answer, a huge help for someone who's struggling to learn the ropes of a healthier diet and fitness. Compared to other trainers I've worked with in the past, this was a huge thumbs up. In the end I was unable to stick with it for personal reasons, but I highly recommend anyone interested in getting fit consider Travis for his acumen and ability to inspire.
Taylor is fantastic! If I could rate her higher than 5 stars I would. She is available any time I need her, answers all of my questions and concerns and is a great fitness coach/personal trainer. I always have fun doing my workouts even when it's grueling. Simply a wonderful experience.
Brandon has been incredibly helpful. Not only has he pushed me to work harder but has given me ideas and support in nutrition as well! Highly recommended!
I've been in the fitness industry for 12 years, the last 8 spent as a fitness manager. I've had the pleasure of working with some great trainers and some not so great trainers. Ethan is one of the best! His knowledge is amazing and he is always working on becoming a better coach/ trainer. Wether you need help with nutrition, losing fat/gaining muscle, correcting mobility issues or you want to become more athletic, Ethan is the guy to help you do that. What an awesome gym! The trainers are beyond the best; I am daily pushed beyond what I thought I was capable of, and am always encouraged. There is no intimidation here, just a great group of people of all ages getting strong together!
Yes, OUSTANDING. Jenny is the brilliant trainer I took many classes with in Seattle at Sync Fitness. She devised interesting exhaustive strength building workouts. She even included some running in there for cardio torture :) Jenny always had a modification ready for those that needed or desired. She'd find the move and/or stretch that would work best for your body on that given day. I could not have asked for a person with better energy to kick my butt on the regular. It's a tiny bit easier to do that last set of (insert something hard) when you are laughing and your coach is telling you to work hard, yet commiserating with you at the same time. It's a unique ability that not all trainers have. We miss you, Jenny!

Marcus designs all of my workouts and nutrition macros. He is incredibly encouraging... I never feel that he is comparing my fitness to his own (which I was a bit intimidated by in the beginning… so this was incredibly important for me). He is also hilarious… a source of bright light and cheer surrounding a subject that involves focus, determination, and consistency. His direction is tailored to the particulars of my fitness capacity and health circumstances. I felt stymied by my history of debilitating back pain, and I needed a well-informed approach to my mobility and exertion capacity. Marcus has an uncanny skill for translating complicated knowledge into an intelligible package that anyone can visualize… And he often makes people laugh while doing it! I've always believed that, due to my experience as a Division I scholarship athlete, and the presumably organic understanding that may come from being raised by [professional] athletes, I should be able to handle my fitness on my own. The truth is that I have accomplished this before (in spurts) and I imagine I could again, with enormous effort and sacrifice of other priorities. But, today, I dare to say: What once felt SO complicated and scarcely accessible, now feels comfortably sustainable and fueled by momentum!!! I've just completed my first half-marathon trail run, and I am 11 weeks out from competing in my first body-building competition (bikini category). With the guidance of an elite coach, this process is far more thrilling than I've heard it described. Sure, there are loads of work... But being IN it feels mostly exhilarating, so long as I don't resist, and am FULLY alive and WITH my effort. With the privilege of educated and caring coaching, most of my exercise registers a flowing-with-the-current sensation... Giving a vivid vibration of inevitability to the whole process—as though I'm suspended through my effort and floating in a blissful state—albeit textured with moments of fervent work. The larger pattern that I see, reversing my scope to observe the broader landscape within which I transforming the motor of my organism, is one that results in far more joy and far less pain than any other exertion/rest ratio I've tried in my 35 years of being human. I really don't believe I could achieve such free mobility and joy in exertion without Marcus' educated and sincere guidance. Sure... I get that I executed the work and discipline he has prescribed. Yet, at least daily, the thought occurs to me: "Marcus saved my life."

Initially, I was looking to lose 15lbs, grow a booty, and have a bikini body for my upcoming tropical vacation. Without judgement of my goals, Carolyn took me under her wing and assured me that I would achieve them. At first, I was a bit skeptical because she had me working out my arms and shoulders when I specifically wanted to target my stomach and glutes. I put my trust in her and followed her lead. She taught me the importance of having a well rounded workout regimen and sculpting each body part individually to feel good about my body in its entirety. I lacked a well rounded workout regimen, consistency, commitment, and discipline in which she helped me restore. Not only am I happy with the physique she has helped me work so hard to achieve, I am happy with my newfound confidence, mindset, inner and outer strength that I have gained from training with Carolyn. I returned from my vacay even hungrier for forward progression with the continued guidance from Carolyn. I have never had so much fun with someone who kicks my ass each time we meet. She has taught me the fundamentals of weight lifting while ensuring that I have proper form that will lead to lifelong success. I never get bored as she is innovative with each workout we tackle. I started working out with Shane about three months ago, shortly after I moved to Portland. I came to Portland knowing that I wanted to get in shape and he has definitely helped me with that. I got a personal trainer to help me build muscle and I also wanted to put on some weight. I train with Shane twice a week and definitely see a big difference from where I was when I started and where I am now. I am so much stronger than I was and have a lot more endurance than I did when I started. I don't walk as well as others and he has really helped with basic things such as my balance, posture, and flexibility. The workouts are tailored to how I am feeling that day. He challenges me to push myself harder than I think I can, but he is normally right. I am generally surprised with how strong I have gotten because I am still skinny but have muscles now. Shane's personality really works for the type of personal trainer that I was looking for as well. I came into this thinking that all personal trainers were like wannabe drill sergeants but Shane is really personable. He still gets down to business and corrects me if I am doing something the wrong way, but even if the workout is really tough that day, I still walk away from it feeling really good. I feel like doing personal training was a great decision and feel lucky that this has worked out so well. I am going to be putting in a third day on my own during the week but definitely want to continue doing this as long as possible because it has been one of the best things that I have ever done for myself.
I've been training with Maria for about 10 months now. I feel so much stronger and self aware of my body than I did before I began the training. I always look forward to my sessions, it's like working out with a friend while still being pushed hard and feeling satisfied after every work out. She's come up with great workouts for me based on my own strength and that work well with my lifestyle and diet. She also helped me train for a half marathon and helped me reach my goal for it. She is extremely knowledged on the body and what work outs different people need based on their personal goals. I feel very lucky to have her as a trainer and would definitely refer anyone to her!
Wayne is a fantastic coach. He coached my daughter's competitive team for several years. In addition to bringing out the best in his players, Wayne stayed in close contact with us to assure that sports, school, and family stayed in a great balance. When my daughter expressed an interest in learning more about soccer worldwide, Wayne help her to see soccer as a global and lifelong opportunity. Very highly recommend Wayne as a team coach and as an individual trainer.
Adam and I have been training together for almost 4 years. He helped me achieve my weight loss goals and has also helped me find my passion for lifting heavy weights and participating in powerlifting competitions. I've known Dan Blunk for several years now. I admire his love of fitness and nutrition. Dan coached me through a competition about a year ago. With in a 3 month period of time with his help I lost 30lbs and won the competition. If it weren't for his nutrition guidance and input on fitness, I don't think I would have been as successful.
