Bob is an excellent tutor! He has adapted his instruction to meet my specific needs. He is always on time, flexible regarding where to meet, and is able to provide supplemental materials to strengthen the lessons. I could not be happier!
Best tutor my son has used to date. Aaron was timely, prepared, and patient with my son who needed help with his Geometry homework. Somehow, Aaron made my son enjoy his homework!
Returned to college and had to re-take College Algebra. I mistakenly took a self guided course and was spending over 25 hours per week on the homework. I hired Allen to to tutor me and now only spend 1-2 hours outside of our lessons (I see him 1-2 times per week). He is EXCELLENT, patient, trustworthy and very good at helping me understand my assignments. I would have dropped the course if not for him. I would not hesitate in recommending his services!
He was an excellent tutor! Class A act. Lots of energy. Attempts to make lessons relatable and as fun as Algebra can be. Showed up on or before time, each lesson. He was very sweet and a wonderful teacher!!!
John is great as a tutor. He is able to break down complicated concepts so that any level student can understand them. He was great for helping both me and my younger sister in statistics, chemistry, algebra, geometry and whatever else we needed.
Working with Masooma was very helpful for my 12 year old son. He has a hard time connecting with people and previous tutors have struggled to connect with him and motivate him to learn. Masooma took the time to get to know him and his interests so that he enjoyed learning with her. He looked forward to their lessons which I have never seen before. She was always well prepared and I noticed an increase in my son socially and academically. Thank you!
Steven helped my son prepare for the SAT test. Steven was very accommodating to our schedule, he was prompt, and prepared for lessons. After each lesson with Steven, my son was very pleased with his improvements. I do highly recommend Steven for tutoring. I will be using his services again for our other children as well.
I would like to recommend Mr. Ed Edleman as a math tutor. I first hired Mr. Edleman when my son was taking high school algebra. Dylan's grades improved each marking period, and by the end of the school year, he was one of the best students in the class. When Dylan took geometry, he asked me if he could once again be tutored by Mr. Edleman. Thanks to Mr. Edleman's hard work and devotion to my son, Dylan's grades were among the best in the class. Dylan enjoyed his tutoring and felt more confident in his ability to understand and complete the required work. He plans to minor in math in college. Thank you again, Mr. Edleman, for helping my son reach his potential.
It's awesome having her as a tutor! She's is very cooperative and will change the course of the lesson plans to fit the students needs (EX: Upcoming tests and exams). She is also very friendly and will get you ahead of the game in class.
I am a recent graduate (2014) from a liberal arts college with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout my high school and college years, I have a lot of experience with teaching and tutoring math subjects up to a college level. I was a competitive swimmer my entire life and swam on the college varsity team.
I am a full time, independent, private tutor and music instructor living in Philadelphia. I have 2 years of experience teaching the SAT in one-on-one, group, and classroom settings. I have a thorough understanding of the SAT: the organization of the test and the scoring processes that help students understand its inner workings, and; the reading and vocabulary skills, math concepts, grammar rules, and test-taking strategies that are the keys to success. I develop personalized programs for my students based on their abilities, help students set and achieve goals, and empower students with the knowledge and confidence that are necessary for peak performance on test day. My students typically see an increase of several hundred points in their overall scores, and often times show even more drastic improvement. I find it important to develop good relationships with my students, and have great success in earning their confidence, respect, and affinity. The SAT season is fast approaching, which is especially important to consider if you are in your junior year of high school. If you're planning to take the SAT this spring, now is the time to start preparing. Enlisting the aid of a private tutor who can assess your strengths and weaknesses and bring focus to the SAT preparation process is invaluable. My rates are very competitive: you'd pay companies like The Princeton Review or Kaplan over twice as much for a tutor of my experience. I will come to your home as long as an adult can be present, eliminating the time and stress of traveling to a third-party location. While I can't charge less for my services, I am willing to work with small groups of students in order to make tutoring more cost-effective for each participating family. Conveniently, I also have ample experience tutoring all levels of Math, English Composition, English Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Science and History. Though usually less sought after, I have experience preparing students for other standardized tests such as the ACT, ISEE, and SSAT. Additionally, I provide guitar and piano lessons for students of all ages. I have spent the last 12 years studying music and have 4 years of experience as a recording artist and touring musician. I have had great success engaging students of all ages from the age of 5. I design a program specific to each student's goals, integrating development of the student's understanding of chords, scales, and music theory with an emphasis on playing songs the student knows and enjoys. I am 30 years old and was born and raised in Philadelphia. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in counseling. I've worked at the Youth Study Center of Philadelphia counseling juvenile criminals. I've played guitar most of my life and piano for several years. I'm specializing in music therapy but love teaching music! Not only would I teach clients how to play guitar/piano, but also how it can be used as a therapeutic outlet and why. I specialize in working with people with addictions. This is a new "business." I would offer the first session for free. I'm available for strictly teaching beginner guitar/piano though. I was formerly an all-state soccer goalie. I'm available for soccer coaching/goalie training. Prices and times are negotiable.
