Tutoring for my son on the subject of pre-calculus has been provided since September. He is doing very well now. Mrs. Alexander's explanations succeed, whereas the high school teacher's do not.

Every week I would go to Mandy for calculus tutoring. She always was very accommodating when scheduling me and placed me with two other students who were in my calculus class as well which was beneficial to us as a group while we were being tutored! Mandy always had answers for my questions and made herself available for any last minute questions I had over text. I highly recommend her as a math tutor she is amazing.

I hired Anne and from the first day I saw just how professional, and censer she was toward teaching my son. She is very knowledgeable about the lessons that she brings with her and gives my wife and I updated on a regular basis. She communicates with his teacher so that they have a clear understanding what needs to be addressed. I am very pleased and recommend her for any grade level child.

He is extremely knowledgeable about current test taking strategies and methods to optimize studying for the SAT and other standardized tests. He saves money and time by recommending the SAT study books (& internet resources) that will focus your studies. He personalizes lessons to fit student needs and learning styles. He has tutored two of our children, increasing their test taking confidence and boosting their scores ! He is much better than the large commercialized SAT study factories.

Yenisey is helping my second grader with math... he loves his lessons and even his school teacher noticed the difference with his work and enthusiasm, he loves math at this point. I will definitely continue with Yenisey and even have him eventually learn Spanish with her.

Ms. Wen is an amazing violin instructor. She has studied violin and piano since 5 years to age and it shows through her knowledge and practice of the arts. My son and daughter love working with her and always look forward to her lessons. I make sure my kids practice at least 30 minutes every day to apply what they learned in their music and build a solid foundation. Wen is very responsive and will be flexible with my schedule if my kids have something come up. Recommend 5/5

I am fluent in French. I have taught French at Berlitz, as well as University of Texas and Highland Park ALL. I also taught English in France at Lycee Henri IV. My accent is Parisian (not Canadian or American). Speaking a language is no guarantee that one can teach a language, but I can.

About

I've been teaching and tutoring varying and various subjects for well over a decade. My Reading and Writing students routinely perform at grade levels at least four to five years above their expected placement and often well above that. I also work with students every year to take part in their school spelling bees on every level. My baccalaureate degrees are in Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and Voice Performance, so while I have more actual student tutoring hours in the liberal arts (I also worked for many years at UTA's Writing Center as a tutor), I have also spent many hours tutoring fellow students in nearly every science (save geology, perhaps) at every level, collegiate to elementary school. I can teach the fundamentals of piano, everything but the most complicated music theory and ear training, most percussion instruments and some flute.

I really don't know that it does. I do know that I am willing to travel and do groups or individuals. My degree is in counseling so I am adept at interacting with people. I am also a native speaker and have a very diverse background, including commercial pilot, driving instructor, investigator, and others. My professional counselor licensure helps me meet the needs of a student. Sometimes there are obstacles to learning that are not readily apparent. I have to find them and address them.

I spent 20 years giving private English classes within both residential and business settings in Guatemala, where I was born and lived most of my life. I am completely fluent in Spanish and am a certified Sworn Translator. Although I haven't had the same experience giving Spanish classes, I know Spanish grammar very well and my extensive experience tutoring others in a second language has given me a wealth of knowledge that I can share with my students.
