I called Keto Roofing to look at my roof to see if there was any damage from some storms from the last year. He responded to me within 5 mins of me calling and went to look at the roof that same day. He sent me pictures to show me the damage. He helped with the insurance adjuster. I got a new roof within a week or so and a much more quality roof than I had before. Keto is easy to work with and does good quality work. He is reliable and gets the roof done when he says. I would recommend for anyone needing a new roof or roof repair.

New roof, water damage inside, and a few other things that were specified in an insurance claim were all completed without any issues, and in a timely and professional manner. My contact was very informative, and helped us through the whole process with specifying, scheduling, and completing the work. I wouldn't hesitate using Quick Roofing again.

My roof suffered some hail damage last year and after filing a claim with my insurance company, I started searching for reputable roofers/general contractors. I reached out with my inquiry on Thumbtack and Matt Snow was one of 5 contractors that reached out to me promptly. Of the contractors I met with, Matt quickly made it to the top of my list. His courteousness, professionalism and reasonable estimate gave me just the confidence I needed to make my decision on which contractor to work with. Not knowing much of anything about roofing, it was a bit daunting to choose a contractor in the first place but Matt kept things simple. Not only did he provide a free inspection/estimate but sat down with me and reviewed the insurance claim, answering any questions/concerns I had. He also walked me through anything I didn't understand about the claim and at no time made me feel obligated to his business. The deadline for my claim was just a few weeks away and I was very concerned about the amount of work and time it would take for my roof to be completed and for my claim deadline to be met. Matt understood my sense of urgency and communicated his availability to me as well as providing me an accurate detail of how long it would take for the work to be completed. On the day of the job, his fellow contractors (he works with a team of two others) showed up promptly at 7:30 a.m. and started the work. I dealt with Matt directly, from start to finish of the project, and I appreciated there being no confusion or need to repeat myself to anyone else. I was charged for the roof after work on it had been started and Matt checked in a couple times throughout the day (it was a one day job) to keep me posted. Matt and his team are very reliable in my experience and wholly professional. Professionalism with courtesy go a long way in my book and Matt definitely defines that. This is an honest, transparent (reasonable rates and itemized invoice) and hard-working business that definitely wants to earn their customer's loyalty as much as their monetary business. My roof was a small job that didn't require a lot of hands but Matt and his team of two worked around the clock and delivered. I could hear them on the roof for the duration of the work and have no doubt as to how dedicated they are to getting the job done and done well! I also got the impression that no job is too big or too small to have Matt's full attention and dedication. Matt will work with your time, budget, claim and concerns. I highly recommend City Wide General Contracting and can't say enough great things about Matt and his team. This is a lengthy review but I wanted to cover all the bases of what I look for when hiring an individual/business. I am a first time homeowner and had no personal/direct experience with property damage and insurance claims prior to this. Matt put my mind at ease and made this process a bit more pain-free. I hope this review will be very helpful to anyone who is like me and wants to ease some of the stress that goes along with seeking reliable, reputable and courteous businesses. If you need roof repair or any General Contracting work, definitely consult with Matt Snow and City Wide General Contracting.

Eddie Rollins and his team did a great job on our fence. Everything is straight, sharp, even height, and clean. The fencing crew showed up in well-maintained vehicles, looked and acted professional, went about their job quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up thoroughly every day when they were done. They showed care and respect for our property. Eddie explained the process before they started, and communicated with us during the job. He also coordinated the payment for shared fence lines with the neighbors. CMC made the process as easy and painless as they possibly could, and we couldn't be happier with the fence. We had lower bids but went with a reputable, BBB-accredited member, and I am glad we did. I would not hesitate to recommend them for a fence or a roof.

We were impressed with Josh, the owner from the start. What started as a potential small repair, revealed a needed roof replacement. While some companies wouldn't even come to look at a small repair, Josh came to see it right away. He came a second time to meet with the insurance adjuster to make sure the adjuster didn't miss anything for our claim with the insurance. Josh was easy to work with & made this process painless. We felt confident working with the owner as opposed to a salesman from another company. We can't say enough about Infinity Roofing. We love giving our business to small companies that truly show customer service, a skill that is very lacking in our world today. Thanks, Josh & your whole team.

I called Velesa Construction to ask for an estimate regarding roof repairs for a house we are about to buy. Veronica responded promptly and emailed an estimate in less than 24 hours. The project is not completed because the seller of the house is responsible for it.

So happy I decide to go with HonestRoof.com. From the moment I met Dennis, I knew I was going to use his company for my new roof. We was very helpful when going through the insurance process, and he answered every question I had. He never steered me a direction that was questionable. Crew was fast and I even got compliments from the neighbors on how they made sure the road was cleared for traffic and picked up anytgi my that got blown away.

This is my brothers company. He worked very closely with our State Farm insurance adjuster for coverage. We got a new roof on our house with lifetime warranty, our freestanding office roof covered and even got the insurance to give us money for the remaining trees to be cut and trimmed from wind damage to the trees. Very honest, respectful Christian man!

The entire team at Coxco was excellent to work with. The owner, Marcus, assisted us throughout the entire process. We’ve had negative experiences with roofers in the past and we’re hesitant but everything that was promised was delivered. We had a new roof and fence installed by Coxco and couldn’t be more satisfied! Thank you Marcus for taking care of us!

My entire experience with Guardian Exteriors (and Pius Cole) was outstanding. They helped me work with my insurance company and with financing. Workers showed up when scheduled and cleaned up after themselves. My roof was replaced and I only found 1 nail. My house looks refreshed with the new roof and gutters. Recommend highly.

After a recent hail storm, I had StormPros complete an inspection of my roof. I was not sure if the hail damaged my roof. They showed up within 24-hours of my call and completed the inspection. To my pleasant surprise it turned out that I did not need a roof replacement. It was reassuring to know that I could trust a company to provide me with an honest assessment compared with all the fly-by-night roof replacement companies that swarm an area after a storm.

The contractor quickly identified the problem and was prepared to complete the job. He completed only the work I needed done and didn't try to persuade me to get a new roof. He was honest in assessing the condition of the roof. His price was reasonable. And he expressed gratitude for allowing him to do the work.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
