Janet has been helpful providing math tutoring to my sophomore. She communicates promptly with me scheduling dates and times and is upbeat and pleasant.
I was looking for someone to work with my 10 year old son after school to help with math and reading. I couldn't have asked for a better person to work with son. Teresa is the most professional, patient and prepared tutor I have ever hired. She communicates well with my son and explains the material in a way that easily understandable. We have seen major improvements in my sons grades as well as his confidence. I would recommend Teresa to anyone looking for help in all subjects. She is very accommodating and communicates well with parents.

Jill is a great teacher. With her as my tutor I raised my act composite from a 30 to a 34. She also responds to you within 5 minutes. Plus, she helps to write really good college essays. Glad to work with her.

Stacy is extremely bright and adept at connecting with children. She has a facility with explaining things multiple ways and will hold the bar exactly to where the child is capable of working. She has a wonderful attitude and was a joy to work with. Our daughter (age 12) worked with Stacy on Pre-AP math for 6th grade and found her support invaluable.
Emad my son improve his math. Overall I was hoping he can get an A, though he did bring him up from a D to a B, so I would see he is a good math tutor., but I wish he could get him to an A!
Extremely intelligent! A tutor for any and every subject. Very receptive and tries to help out wherever.

I have had the privilege of having Cheryl as my Chinese tutor and I would give her the highest rating possible. She is an exceptionally gifted teacher who is very knowledgeable about the Chinese language as well as the Chinese culture. Being an older student, I do not have the ability to learn the language as quickly my younger fellow students but she was very understanding of this. Indeed she was God sent because she was able to strike a fine balance between being challenging and being patient. I highly recommend her for anyone starting Chinese lessons because her musical background allows her to hear if you are using the right tones in this tonal language. This is very critical in building a good foundation for Mandarin. Lastly, I want to mention that learning Mandarin is not easy but her enthusiasm and constant encouragement is a blessing!
I highly recommend Laurie. She did an amazing job helping my son with geometry.

I tutor kids in various age groups in their studies accordingly. I have three younger siblings who I assist along with whomever friends they recommend me to. I am patient yet direct. I believe there is a time for play, and there is a time for seriousness. I know the difference, and I stand by all my decisions. I instill knowledge to whom ever I come in contact with, whether it's a five-minute conversation or an hour.

I discovered a passion for foreign languages and cultures when I was in my twenties, which according to some, is too late to become fluent in a second language. Thanks to a lot of effort, more than a few frustrating and awkward moments, and some great teachers, I do not only became fluent in Spanish but also went on to earn a master's degree and publish a short story in my second language, and I beat out native speakers to obtain bilingual positions as a translator, consular officer and bilingual marketing manager. But after these job experiences, I realized that nothing brings me more joy than helping others overcome their fears and communicate more effectively in their second languages. I spent most of the last two decades teaching either English or Spanish as a second language, the latter for 12 years in the public school system and the former for seven years as an English teacher in Spain. During that time, I learned a lot about the English language from a non-native speaker's point of view. What a crazy language. No wonder why so many people can't spell! Whether you would like to improve your conversation skills before your next trip, your essay for your next assignment (I have published original work in both languages) or your chances for doing well on your next test (including the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam), I can probably help you. I enjoy creating personalized lessons and connecting with students. Since June 2014 I have been tutoring ESL and Spanish students privately and through several Houston area language centers. My students range from Italian, Japanese and South American engineers striving to improve their English while working on a project in Bay City to high school students in Houston taking Spanish at night for credit so that they can do other things during the day. I work with books, websites, flashcards, spontaneous conversations, pop songs... whatever the students need and however they like and prefer to learn.
