To start, we had a friend of the family that is a bishop, and we were under the impression that he could marry us. 7 days before the wedding we found out he would need approval that could take weeks. We were in a panic. We looked online and filled out a couple of questions, within 8 hours I had a quote from Rev. Christopher. 4 hours later my phone rang and I was talking with him about our situation. A feeling of relief came over my when I hang up the phone. We set up an appointment for that Sunday to go over his sermon with us. It was awesome! He made sure that every wording, from the prayer (which was optional) to the I do's, fit us and our back rounds. He made special keepsakes for our parents and us. Without a rehearsal he was able to direct us perfectly. He was able to make the whole ceremony special to us, as if we've know him for years. And, if you are worried about price, I would have paid way more for everything the Rev provided for us. Thanks Rev!

I think Charle's work is fabulous. He did a great job capturing our Parents 50th wedding anniversary. I love how he was able to capture such candid pictures along with couples and family pictures. He also arrived early to ease my party planning nerves and was able to snap some pictures of the decor and details. I would recommend him for any kind of event. These are pictures we will have for a lifetime.!!!

We had an amazing experience with this company hired for our wedding in Park City. They are very experienced in large event planning and execution. Our day would not have been as smooth without them! I'd highly recommend them for any event as they are kind, friendly and prompt for a very affordable cost.

John flew out all the way to Houston from Utah for our wedding and we couldn't of asked for a better DJ. Super friendly and respectful for what you are wanting at your party/wedding but also amazing at making it 10x better! Everyone we talked to told us they loved the music and the environment and it was seriously all thanks to John! The DJ is the one who actually gets the party started and he never fails! We've been to many events he has hosted and you won't be dissaponted!

Nancy officiated my daughter's wedding on October 9, 2016. She was amazing! She was so professional and on top of everything, she instructed the bridal party on what to do, the service was wonderful and she really went above and beyond. The photographer, guests and venue staff even mentioned to me how impressed they were with her. It really couldn't have been better. Thank you, Nancy! --Susan Adams

Brad did a great job. He took time to meet up with us and was very professional and open to listening to our wants, needs, and suggeations. He also helped by giving suggestions and telling us about what he has seen worked well. He was very open to our playlist suggestions and went the extra mile to find music to fit our Mexican American Wedding Reception. He read the crowd well and kept the party going. Thanks!!

Brett did both my engagement photos as well as my wedding photos. He's an artist at what he does. My engagement and wedding photos are unique, unlike any I've seen. Which is precisely why I went to Brett in the first place. I'd seen his work and fell in love. I was seeking something unique and artistic. Brett delivered. My wedding was two years ago and I get complaments on my photos to this day. As well as my amazing photos I have wonderful memories of Brett at my wedding. He was a joy to work with.

Ryan is a true professional. Days before my wedding I had a Videographer decide he couldn't show up since it was July 4th. I called Ryan and with panic in my voice he calmed me down and agreed to change his holiday plans and save my day! I barely even knew Ryan was at the wedding, he is so discreet and never intrusive. I initially thought I wonder how the video would turn out since I rarely noticed his presence. Much to my surprise, our video was more than I expected. Ryan captured moments I had forgot about, moments I never saw with friends and family and truly all the most important moments that will be remebered for a lifetime . I would recommend Ryan t9 all my friends and family and all my clients.

He was very proffessional. He even brought someone with him to take photos and it was great! He even made sure to see if there was a preference we preferred of how he should dress especially where it was a Halloween themed wedding.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
