We gave a big 40th birthday party for our son and wanted everything to be fantastic for him, our family, and all of our friends. We didn't know what a perfect choice we made when we hired Chef Marcel! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Marcel, his staff, and his wonderful food! The dishes were delicious - inventive and perfectly prepared! To add an extra challenge, Chef Marcel and his top notch sous chefs needed to cook in our kitchen and take food to our community room where we were holding the event. Every single step of the process was flawless and at the end of the evening I would have never known anyone had been in my kitchen! I had a recipe for the bartender I wanted to serve. She tweaked it and made it even tastier! Our guests wrote us the next day and raved about the appetizers, the meal, the yummy desserts, and the service, which was impeccable. The staff was friendly, kind, fun, and terrific at what they do. As most people know who give parties, the personalities of those who provide the service is critical. Every single person who took care of us was absolutely lovely. Chef Marcel was there the whole time. He was constantly vigilant making sure everything was running smoothly. He went out of his way to accommodate some hungry late arrivals. He was definitely in charge, respectful of his staff, gracious, flexible, and devoted to us having a great time! Our experience with Chef Marcel exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. A million thank yous to him and to his stellar staff!
Jose is very responsive and has great service, along with him being a great chef of course! He traveled to my parents house for us to do a tasting for our wedding and we were blown away. It was amazing. We got so many compliments from our friends and family about how good the food was. With that being said I have a couple nitpicky complaints for constructive feedback: The plates and silverware were not what we had originally discussed at the tasting. They were supposed to be the nice plastic that looked real and we got clear which looked cheesy to us. It could have had to do with the fact that we did the tasting about a year in advance and things could have been forgotten or overlooked but the change was never communicated to us. Also, my husband requested to have a spicy BBQ sauce during our tasting and the BBQ sauce was on the side at that time. We discussed having spicy and mild options. I was very excited for the pulled pork at the wedding but it had spicy BBQ sauce all over it! I thought it was going to be on the side, like it was during the tasting. It was so spicy that I couldn't even eat it. :( One of our aunts was not able to eat any of the meat because it was "too peppery" but that was the only other complaint that we got. Other than that everyone loved it. Everything was great and I would still highly recommend Mr. WorldWide Catering, it just wasn't quite perfect for my event.
Great service, excellent food, outstanding communication and much more added value than expected. We hired Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for our wedding reception in Laguna Beach on 10-15-16. We had a 3 months window to plan the wedding from out of town and Carolina made sure all our vendor needs from rentals to reception food to our wedding cake was taken care of. She communicated often and made sure we got what we wanted. Chef Boris and his team the day of the reception were a pleasure to be around. The food was authentic (Soft Tacos)and DELICIOUS! Directly from our guest “you hit a home run with the food”, “best wedding food, ever”, “I went back 3 times!”. Our servers Gustavo and Sophia were very accommodating and always made sure ALL guest were taken care of. Highly recommend using Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for any event!!
Food was great, Chef and his assistant were very nice and professional
The response was quick and efficient so that part I would give 5 stars. The part that I wish was a little more professional was the presentation of the food. We had to ask the chef to describe his food and we had to set our own table, which in the past when we've had personal chefs that was done for us. The halibut was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our meal very much. The chef was pleasant and you could tell he "loved" what he is doing which is so important. If we ever come back to Terranea we would use the Catering Carnival again.
From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.

Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
Food delivery was a little late, but the Chefs stayed and helped with set-up and service even though they were not contracted too. They carved the turkey on location and stayed for the whole event. They also supplied plates and utensils even though we did not ask for them. They were great from start to finish with food left over after feeding 130.
Chef Carolina was AMAZING. I would defiantly recommend her. I am so glad that I was able to have her into our home to cook for us. Her food and menus were perfect. She is extremely pleasant to work with and understood exactly what we wanted and needed during her time here. Looking forward to booking Chef Carolina again.
I hired Sierra Madre Catering for my husband's 40th birthday party held at my home. The set up process was so easy, they were so accommodating with the menu I wanted (even though it included fried foods and philly cheese steak sandwiches which are hard to make on-site). The moment they got to my house, Tonya and her chefs were so professional, speedy, on top of it all! They made my night so much easier and fun and I finally got to enjoy my own party for once! They left my house very neat like my kitchen was never used! They picked up after my guests throughout the night. My favorites were inside-out Philly cheese steak, pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese, potstickers and garlic fries. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again!
The Traveling Chef exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the presentation of it was well done. We actually had leftovers due to generous portion sizes. We will be using him again in the future as well.
Five stars for all for categories. The chicken piccata and trip tip were tender and delicious, and the side dishes were fresh and tasty as well. Aioli dropped off on time in nice dishes. My compliments to the chef!
Chef Alexis and her team were the best! Super punctual, very professional and attentive to all the guests needs, plus her food was amazing. Definitely will book her again for another gathering.
We used Chantel & Bella for both our florals and wedding cake/ desserts and we are SOO happy we did! Chantel created our 21 table runners on-site (eucalyptus, white and ivory roses) working with our wedding coordinators to ensure the tables looked clean, simple and elegant. She decorated our Chuppah with white drapery, eucalyptus and white flowers (are you sensing a theme here? :)) and made sure all our bouquets and boutonnieres were perfect before photos. In addition to having her do our flowers, Chantel made us our simple two tier lemon cake with flowers, mini-cupcakes, regular cupcakes and her amazing rose flower cookies. Everyone LOVED dessert; the mini cupcakes came in 4 flavors which allowed guests to get a little bit of each flavor. The larger cupcakes were big enough to share or enjoy on your own and the cookies were perfect for all our little guests in attendance to run around eating. Every item was delicious, beautiful, and displayed so nicely for our evening wedding and reception. Additionally, Chantel helped me surprise my husband by having little kobe bryant legs and a basketball hide on the back of my cake. My husband LOVED this little personal touch and Chantel put a ton of effort and time into making my vision come true. I highly recommend you do a tasting to discover for yourself how wonderful her desserts are and view her floral designs from her previous events. Even though florals are newer to her, her great eye and sense of design in baking crosses right over and we would use her again in a heartbeat! Thanks again Chantel for making our day WONDERFUL! Chef Steven and his team made us a fantastic meal, got the oohs and aahs from my parents (it was a 45th anniversary dinner for them) as well as younger crowd at the meal. In fact, we're still talking about the tomato tartare dish he came up with. The chef and his team handled passed appetizers, absolutely inventive and delicious cocktails, setup and cleanup all for a completely reasonable fee per person. They used our dishes/silverware/glassware but cleaned everything up and left the kitchen spotless. Multiple people from the dinner have asked for their contact info so they can book Chef Steven in the future. We wouldn't hesitate to book them for our next party.
Very experienced and thoughtful chef. Highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to eat healthy or add some convenience to their life. The food is extremely delicious as well. Very personable and friendly!

Acacia has catered private events for me and been the head chef at a former restaurant i used to bartend at. She is always professional and provides excellent food! Chef LaTay was very professional and the food was the best I've ever had. Every morsel of food was delicious, even the baked goods were good. Her presentation was very appealing to the eye. I will continue to patronize Chef LaTay as my catering service.
Chef Mikey was a joy to work with. He listened to our needs and provided outstanding service for our event and the dishes he prepared were DELICIOUS! I would give Chef Mikey 10 stars if that was an option! He will be our first call for any future events.
