I got my TV mounted, shelves installed, and replaced a bathroom mirror. He did everything and did everything really fast and showed great detail to his work. He's very nice and very accommodating. I'm definitely calling him for my next home improvement project.
Troy responded within a couple of hours to my request to build a 40' fence. He provided a very attractive quote, picked up all the materials and completed the project all in one morning. I would recommend Troy to anyone with a home improvement project based on my very favorable experience.
Nathan was a huge help tackling our annoying toilet. Looking forward to working with him on future home improvement and repair jobs. Thanks Nathan!
Kevin was fantastic. He really knew a good amount about outdoor lighting to begin with, and was able to recommend various systems and approaches. Once we met in person, he paid a lot of attention to how to make the lighting look good on the front of the house, so a good attention to detail. Once the lighting was installed, instead of just leaving, he had me come out and we tested the motion sensors together, tweaked them, etc. He really cares about doing a good quality job. I also had him install an outdoor outlet, which we did flawlessly as well. Finally, he's just a very nice guy to work with, and very responsive. I would use him again for other projects for sure.
Pete was highly professional. He bid the job and when he came to visit to inspect the site I had a change of mind over some aspects of the job. So he modified his estimate and performed the work accordingly. His work was of the highest quality and he finished it in a timely manner. We are pleased what he did.
Tom and his crew are experienced professionals and customer-service oriented. They are extremely courteous and reliable. The task was to replace an original 100 amp service with a 200 amp service in a single family house built in 1963. What a surprise to learn just how much work would be involved. Three professionals worked all day from around 8am until almost 8pm, and still needed to come back a couple times to finish up some grounding related work to meet inspection regulations. I had four estimates (two of them through Thumbtack) - each with slightly different requirements, but overall the same goal. I needed a bigger panel and had no way to expand to accommodate future projects (that would require 240v). The expenses ranged quite a bit, with one being substantially higher than the other three. Tom's didn't come in at the lowest, but it sounded fair, and cost alone wasn't my determining factor. You will notice Tom is genuinely decent and honest. After the work was completed, I felt like I was charged too little, and happy I didn't go with the lowest bid. It was a substantial amount of work, and I felt somewhat guilty. Some helpful advice: Don't base your decision on Yelp reviews because two of the contractors had excellent Yelp reviews - I'm talking something like 80 5* reviews, and the one with the highest quoted me nearly twice the average of the other three. He used some high-pressure tactic. Additionally, he wanted to run the conduit down the front of the house. The same contractor mentioned he recently upgraded service on the house 3 doors down - last December I believe, and it's not pretty with the pipe running down the front of the house. He explaine that would be the only way it would pass inspection. Especially since Tom was working with another very experienced professional, Fergal, I didn't feel the need to question their decision to place the conduit along the side of the house. The house just passed inspection yesterday, and now I can plan for how to use all those extra slots. I do have plans to hook up my car charger, and down the road to replace the hot tub with one that requires more voltage. Once I'm ready to schedule those project, I don't even need to think about who I will want to help out with the work, and just hope they'll be available!
I hired John to work on a number of home improvement projects at first because his rates were very good given the many different types of work he could do and the amount of experience he had. Over time, I found him to be very competent, able to handle anything I threw at him. He built fences, pressure washed the house and decks, repaired and covered our gutters, built walkways through the garden, did careful garden maintenance, did some concrete work, patched our driveway asphalt, and is currently staining our decks now that summer has arrived. He works very hard, has his own tools, needs no supervision and knows how to do just about everything around the house based on his own experience. Which is perfect for me, I want to be able to just say - do this, do that, and have the job get done. John makes that happen. I recommend him highly (AFTER he's finished my decks ;-)
We hired Evolve Construction for the second time, this time for an extensive home remodel (the first job we hired them to do was a single bathroom remodel and it is beautiful!) Evolve was able to offer a competitive price with options that fit our budget. Everyone on the team were very knowledgable about local codes/requirements so inspections were never an issue. The project was completed ahead of schedule (9 weeks) and the project manager was always readily available to keep us posted on progress and answer any questions or concerns we had. Evolve team was professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for any home improvement project!
I recently bought a home in Oakland with really old electrical wiring. I contacted Fampeca Electric to provide me an estimate on re-wiring the entire house and Ruben Perez was able to respond immediately to my request. After a walk-thru he was able to tell me what needed to be replaced and what could actually just be repaired helping me save some money. He got the work done in a timely manner and at a very cost effective price. Thank you!
I had a laundry list of electrical issues from an inspection report that needed to be taken care of. Luie was very professional and friendly. He asked for a copy of the report before he arrived, so that he could be prepared for the job. He brought along his assistant, Joe, who was also professional and friendly. I will say that my house was built in 1965 and has some "creative" handyman-level wiring in it. They did an excellent job of troubleshooting the issues and figuring out the wiring, and even discovering that a mystery switch on the top floor somehow controlled an exterior light on the bottom floor. There was one issue with a set of lights, that I discovered later, that no longer worked after they had fixed everything else. However, Luie sent his assistant out the following week (since he was out of town) and got it fixed. I give huge kudos for this, since I've had issues with other contractors in the past who drag their feet when it comes to remediation work. I highly recommend CGL Electric! It was a professional experience and I'm very happy with the work!
