I love the shingle shades the contractor recommended as well. Also, I didn't even had to deal with insurance when the quote needed to be adjusted . Hired Ray and CRM to do a small front porch project and basement project. Ray quoted us a three day job that ended up taking three and a half months. He also required a 50% deposit up front and didn't commence work on the projects until several weeks later after several emails asking for updates on when he'd start the work. It'd be one thing if the work was high quality but it was very average and very delayed and required constant project management on our part. Expectations were set way too high and deadlines were constantly missed and Ray was extremely patronizing all along the way. We do not recommend this company.

Medford Brothers immediately replied to my request w/in 2 hrs involving a unique project to rebeam a Platt Park 1931 tudor basement stairwell and was able to accommodate an in-house inspection 5 days later. After opening a 2' x 2' gypsum lath wall above the stairs, he recommended its not worth the pricetag to raise | Rory Medford made a trip to buy some drywall and patched everything up like it was when he arrived. I asked Rory the cost for his 2 hr inspection and he told me whatever you think is fair | Also apologized for not being able to solve the project affordability (Mind you this is a rebeam $$,$$$) Rory runs an honest operation, interested in providing value to the customer. Overall, Rory is a nice guy and decent communicator. However, he left the job without a final walk through. Just left and I had to text him if he was done, after which he said that he was. Areas of the drywall were untapped, not mudded, and simply not constructed. The paint crew that came in had to completely sand down the walls (it was not paint ready, despite him saying it would be) and fix dozens of drywall defects. There were missing corner protectors and corners that were bent and sharp. I could tell the second crew was having a hard time reconciling how amateur the job was and was hesitant to even agree to bid out the work. I’ve since had to pay quite a lot to a new GC to remedy everything. It was a difficult basement space (very asymmetrical and non-standard) and giving him the benefit of the doubt, I think that could have played a role in it. But honestly, it felt like he cut serious corners to get this project done.

I had a difficult time finding someone to complete the work...until I found Anaid Enterprises! LeRoy contacted me immediately to schedule an estimate. He showed up promptly for the estimate and had a detailed estimate to me in less than 24 hours. After a previous bad contractor experience I was a little nervous about hiring someone else. LeRoy laid all my fears to rest. He took care of my house as though it was his own. He provided me step by step updates and communicated with me the whole time. I appreciated the attention to detail and his commitment to the job. He was fully present from beginning to end. I am so happy to have such a genuine, detail-oriented, honest, competent, professional contractor in our community. Do not hire these people! •Stole our money: They asked for payment well in advance of work being completed and walked off job after collecting 77% payment and only completing 57% of the work (Certified by an architect) - essentially stealing thousands of dollars from my family. •We received threats: They didn't pay their subs in full so the subs came after us. The subs (two large guys) showed up to our house at 10pm demanding payment and threatening to put liens on my house unless I paid them cash. Diana and LeRoy were nowhere to be found and did not help us at all with the situation. •Strange Hours: The same subs were working in our basement in the middle of the night (8pm - 6am) keeping us up when we needed to work the next day on two different occasions. •Behind Schedule: The job was promised to be done in one month, after three months they walked off the job with only 57% of the work completed. •Sub-par work: There are numerous holes in the drywall, paint overspray, incorrect installation of trim, doors that don't fit in the frame, cabinet doors that don't open, electrical wires smashed under supports, fingerprints in the drywall mud, trash everywhere, incorrect materials (carpet), cabinets and lights installed in the wrong places, •Poor Management: All of the subs were coming to us to ask questions about the job instead of Diana and Leroy coming to the job site to explain the project and manage the subs. •Avoiding Communication: There were several weeks during the project where Diana and LeRoy did not respond to calls, texts or emails. Several times I followed up a verbal conversation with an email to confirm what we had agreed upon and they never responded. •Nickel and Dime: The estimate the gave us was very vague and when we asked them to do normal "turn key" work they tried to charge extra: painting ceiling a different color, kitchen back-splash versus counter-splash, modifying kitchen cabinets so they open, scribing trim, charging extra for materials inconsistently from one project to the next. •Court: I had to take them to court and the judge sided with me a issued a judgement that Anaid owes me over $4,500. Nightmare! Pics show how the basement was left unfinished and how it is now that I hired someone else to finish the job.

Jan 1 2025 Updated review: Do not use them. Hiring Caz Home Improvements was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Will be filing a claim with Thumbtack. They will initially be very attentive to you until you pay them downpayment and then it goes downhill. It took them around 3-4 months to do basic drywall install in a small 1 bedroom apartment, that any other contractor would have done in 5-7 days. Crews did not bother showing up till 10am most mornings, took 2 hour long lunches, and left at 3/3:30 pm. Often times crews did not show up for weeks. They cut structural joists in my basement without any reinforcement. The drywall work was extremely crappy, and failed to get the inspection. His paint crews damaged my hardwood floor and spilled paint all over the space. The crew repeatedly dumped paint in my backyard despite notifying Carlos, repeatedly putting dogs at risk if they ingested that stuff in the backyard. The drywall cuts made around electrical rough-ins were absolutely terrible where now I have to go patch up drywall around the electrical outlets. Their crews were extremely slow, and ran up his labor costs, and to top it off, he kept passive aggressive telling me that he’ll walk off the job. They left the construction trash out front for nearly 3 months open to wind and gusts which could have lead to potential lawsuits if it hit the pedestrians on the sidewalk on windy days. One of his crews threw away the existing functional baseboard heater in the laundry room and the replacement doesn’t have a thermostat which means it’s not functional. I regret paying him 100% out of good faith back in May 2024 because he still hasn’t finished the work in one of the rooms with the door trims and casing as of Jan 1 2025. He has stopped responding to the text messages. Will be filing complaints with Thumbtack.
