My son's graduation party at the Lake Mary Events Center came alive with his work.I went in on trust since we never met before. Closer to the date of the event he was in contact, showed up and was very pleasant. I'd love to take him to Nigeria for my wedding later this year!! Nice clean music and pleased teens as well as adults. I asked my son and nephew as well as the adults for their opinion on how he played and they all said he was terrific. He actually got on the dance floor to do the cupid shuffle with us!!!!!! And he didn't even ask for his pay!!! (That doesn't mean you should let him have to ask you for it!!!!!! :) Great job Yves and thanks!!

Adrian did such an amazing job! He was very professional and fun at the same time. He also worked with our budget and our random time frames in our wedding. I look at my photos and actually think we look like we came out of magazines. Every photo was awesome and the resolution was perfect, even the ones of the guests dancing. I’d highly recommend Adrian!

Ant Farm Media was incredible! Anthony was very responsive and so patient with all our requests and edits. He listened to our theme and designed our custom photo template perfectly! He was incredibly professional and one of the easiest vevndors we worked with. He arrived on time, was kind and generous to our guests and got all our digital photos to us promptly after the wedding. I have referred him to several friends already and hope to work with him again for future events. My only regret as a Bride, was getting caught up in meeting and greeting with everyone and not being able to take advantage of the photo booth, the template and more of Anthony's services. Thank you for helping us make the best memories!!

I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the job Gary did in officiating our son's wedding. Several months before the wedding, he began communicating with all parties involved to get a feel for what we were expecting of him. The majority of the communication with the future bride and groom had to be done via email, as they were living in Istanbul. He sent his prepared list of questions to them, asking that they complete them individually; so that he could get an idea of what it was they each wanted and learn of their feelings and thoughts towards each other throughout their courtship. Since the wedding was to be held in Miami, they did travel to the States a couple of times prior to the wedding and had an opportunity to sit down personally with Gary to further discuss the ceremony. The union of the two was further complicated by the fact that they were from two different countries and of different faiths. Gary did extensive research on this and made sure that not only were the bride and groom comfortable with the details of the ceremony, but that both sets of parents were also comfortable. The script that Gary prepared for the ceremony was not only personable, but touching and sincere. It also had a bit of humor in it, resulting from what he had learned from the two while preparing for the ceremony. The wedding was held on an outside terrace, several floors up in a high rise in downtown Miami. As is the case with outdoor spring weddings held in Florida, the ceremony was slightly delayed due to rain. However, once we were able to start, Gary made sure everything ran smoothly. I have no doubt that Gary would put the same effort into any wedding he participated in and, thus, would highly recommend him to you.

We decided to go with DJ Phil Santos since we've known Phil for quite some time and we have seen him DJ at other events. He was professional, punctual, and followed up appropriately so that responses didn't get lost in the deluge of other event (wedding) related emails. On the day of ceremony he showed up right on time, set up quickly, and helped keep the flow of the wedding throughout the day. He is able to read a crowd and tell when to put the right songs/genres on, and also when to make the crucial announcements that are needed throughout the night. I'd recommend Phil to anyone who asks!

Everything about using the Dream Team was incredible. Sharita went above and beyond as the day of wedding planner. She helped with planning and shopping and organizing. As the mother of the bride I did not have to left a finger on the wedding day . On the day of the reception I was stress free and able to relax and enjoy the day.

I am a wedding photographer and event planner in the Florida Keys and I hired Kianna over 30 times to do the hair and makeup on my brides and bridesmaid. I was always very pleased by her great work and beautiful creations. Kianna's positive and friendly attitude is a breath of fresh air around the getting ready party. She is very professional and you can count on her to be there on time. I strongly recommend Kiki’s hair creations for your special events.

I contacted Marisol after the hair stylist for my wedding couldn't get the day off. After the panic had partially subsided and I started looking for new hairstylists I found Marisol. From day one she was extremely kind and professional. At my trial, I had a very vague idea of what I wanted (I was not a picky or definitive bride). Marisol came up with a hair style that I absolutely loved after just seeing a few photos from Pinterest and getting some probably not so helpful answers from me on what I liked or wanted. On the wedding day she was great! She got my 4 girls, my mom, and myself done with plenty of time. Everyone loved their hairstyle and we got numerous compliments throughout the night. Everyone's hair stayed perfect through the entire wedding. I didn't want to let my hair down at the end of the night I loved it so much. She was again kind and professional. She jumped in on the conversation and took the time to ask each girl what kind of look they were going for (I let all my girls pick their own hairstyle). I would absolutely recommend Marisol to anyone needing hair styling or makeup. We all loved working with her.

We gave her what we wanted and she delivered! I would recommend her to anyone needing an officiate for services! Very friendly, personable, and professional. Thank you again Deb for making our wedding a day to be remembered!

First and foremost I loved Tina’s personality! She also loves what she does and it truly shows! I got Hair and Makeup done for my wedding, and a trial before. My bridesmaids and both mothers also got their hair and makeup done and were very satisfied! I would recommend Tina to anyone looking for Hair and Makeup! She also mentioned to me she’s adding photography to her business so I’ll definitely be contacting her again!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
