Our wedding was absolutely perfect, due in LARGE part to Once Upon an Event catering. From initial contact to our wedding day - my experience with Sandy and her staff was absolutely WONDERFUL! The food was delicious - our guests are STILL talking about it! I loved that Sandy understood our needs and allowed us to customize our entire menu. which included appetizers, dinner buffet and cake. Another amazing part was the fact that she DID NOT nickel and dime us for every little thing, and was more concerned about how she could make our day perfect. Her staff on the wedding day was extremely professional, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and so helpful. My mil had made our "display" cake - and there was a problem with the transport of the cake (the top layer slid off!).....one of Sandy's employees saved the day and fixed the cake! They left the kitchen at the venue ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS, and were thoughtful to take the time to serve 3 of our vegan guests so that they would not have to be in contact with any animal products (we had not even mentioned the fact that we would have 3 vegan guests in our initial meetings). Another plus is Once Upon an Event is a one stop shop. Sandy is available to provide anything you need to ensure your wedding day is the best it can possibly be. I had piece of mind knowing that I could rely on her to find a last minute dj, florist, etc. We truly enjoyed our wedding and had nothing to worry about. I would definitely hire them again!

My wedding day would have been a disaster without Dawn. Hiring her was one of the best decisions my fiancé and I made for our wedding day. We hired her for "day of coordination" (after realizing as a bride I just couldn't do everything myself on my wedding day) however, Dawn did so much more than just coordinate the day of. She was In contact with me the entire week of the wedding. She followed up with every vendor, put out a few (huge) would have been fires, and created an amazing timeline that kept everyone on track. The day of, she arrived early, made sure everyone knew where to go and what to do, and pitched in with extra tasks (such as ironing every single linen for me - who would have thought that was even necessary?!) Every single one of my vendors raved about how great she was to work with, and how she helped them the day of as well as beforehand. She has a ton of experience working with vendors, venues and coordinating events, and it really showed in all of her work. I would hire her again in a heartbeat! Thank you Dawn!

I am very thankful that I found Audra in Thumbtack when I was looking for wedding planner/catering beginning of this year. I visited a couple of venues and sent inquiries but only Audra of Always Special Events replied quickly and with very clear offerings of what she can do for my wedding within my limited budget. She just took it upon herself, just like what she said that she is there for me not to get stress planning for my special day. The wedding went well and more than what I expected. I was very pleased of the whole color theme decoration from the extra chair sash to the small details of salt and pepper in the table. Guests were very please on how attentive Audra and Sarah to their needs. To top it all foods were excellent!!! Strongly recommending Audra and not just her wedding services but for any type of parties you will have in the future!!! Dave and I love her!!!

Lisa was an absolute god send. I hired her at the last minute to do day of coordination for my wedding. She was amazingly patient with me and allowed me to ask any questions I had. She came in and did all of the decorations above and beyond what I even imagined. She also stayed late and helped to clean up and dropped everything off with my family as I had to leave for my honeymoon early the next morning. I went to Pat to ask her about decorating for my wedding. I informed her of the day, time, and place and she was willing to take me on as a client. My wedding was July 2014, and at 1st I was worried because she notified me that she had a Mary Kay engagement that same weekend as my wedding date. Pat made me feel as though she had nothing else on her agenda. She took the time to go over every detail for my day. She truly went above and beyond. She was so professional, she was making my floral arrangements up to the very last minute. Nothing was left undone, and I was very satisfied.

I hired Ikonic Event Planning to plan my entire wedding. I could not have been more pleased with my decision! I told Sarah that I wanted my wedding to have a "police theme" (my husband is a patrol officer); she listened very carefully to my ideas and vision of what I wanted my Wedding to be, and then brought the whole thing to full and complete fruition! I wanted an elegant yet fun event, and that is precisely what I got. The venue I chose was outdoors (basically a "field" by the water), and Sarah used her creativity and artistic talent to turn the space into everything I envisioned, and more. Sarah thought of every minute detail, and the police theme was tastefully incorporated throughout. She hand-made many of the decorations. She kept me sane lol. All the other vendors enjoyed working with her; they actually made comments to me about how fantastic she is with her professionalism and attention to timing and detail. (I picked the vendors, but Sarah did the leg work by researching several options for me to choose from.) As it turned out, the music, cake, food, and ambiance blended so perfectly, that many of my guests commented that my wedding was the "best they've ever been to." And major bonus - I was working with a modest budget, and we even came in UNDER budget! Brides, look no further, you will be in great hands with Ikonic!

        What does a wedding event coordinator do?

        Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more.         A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner.         How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

        A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

        What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

        When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

        • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
        • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
        • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
        • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

        Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

        Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

        Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

        • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
        • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
        • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
        • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
