Rick is a normal guy, meaning not a muscle-bound, yelling, critical, gym jerk. He's fit and wants his clients to get fit. I've been working out with Rick for 6 months. Here's how it's gone: Our first couple of workouts were at a local park. I like being outside and I didn't know him so wasn't comfortable going to a stranger's studio/apartment. We started with an evaluation and discussion of goals. I had one goal - to get out and workout for one month. Just to get started. After the second workout we starting working out at his place (saved me $10/session and I felt completely comfortable w/ Rick). It's been six months. I've lost 40 lbs and I'm a lot stronger. I've also steadily gained some much needed coordination. Be sure to ask Rick about food and nutrition. If you skip this you're missing one of his strengths - reasonable eating guidance that enhances the workouts and, for me, drives weight loss. (At my request, he met me at Natural Grocer's and made suggestions for changes to my usual diet.) Rick's not a pushover. When I'm getting close to mastering a technique or lifting a certain amount he'll change it up and increase the challenge. He's always watching form so I don't have concerns about injuries. The best thing about my experience with Rick: The results of the work we've done aren't fragile. If I take a week off every few months I don't lose all my strength or tone or gain a lot of weight. The results are real and lasting.
I started working with Roderick for reasons other than weight loss. I have horrible anxiety issues and have really improved them from exercise and the added help of a super positive personality. I recommend him to anyone! Whether you need weight loss, a very specific training program or just want to get those endorphins up.

Jake has been awesome!! From day one he made me feel comfortable and asked me about myself and my goals which is awesome. I have only met with his twice, but the two days after I could barely walk because he made me do some killer workouts (killer in a good way..no pain, no gain!). P.O.W.E.R. Training with Emmanuel Sosanya has been OUTSTANDING!! He is prompt, courteous, and puts up with my whining about working out. He is just the person I needed to help keep me accountable in my fitness journey. We work out in my home 3 times a week. We don't even need a lot of equipment to achieve my fitness goal of weight loss. He has provided me with a strict meal plan, which I follow. He even did a "pantry sweep" on my consultation meeting, pointing out many items I was eating that I had no idea were very unhealthy. I have had other trainers in the past but the fact that Emmanuel comes to my home adds an extra level of accountability. His knowledge level given his background in kinesiology is excellent and his rates are more reasonable than some gym personal trainers I have had. I highly recommend P.O.W.E.R. training to anyone who wants to get in shape and needs the extra push of a personal trainer.
James is an outstanding master of his craft. He understands your goals and finds creative, effective, and fun ways to get you there. His style is tough and honest and he knows how and when to coach and encourage. He makes your goals, his goals. James creates custom workouts that are balanced, focused and trailered to your fitness level and goal. He has an awesome attitude and you can tell he loves what he does. I would recommend James to anyone who is serious about achieving their fitness goals.
Caitlin is absolutely wonderful to work with! She's down to earth and fun (seriously, I never thought a workout could be fun). She knows how to adjust a workout to the client's level of expertise, or in my case, total lack thereof, but she also knows how to ramp it up and kick my butt in a session when I've been flakey. She's always flexible on place and time. She makes outside workouts more comfortable by either finding a less-populated location (if you have performance anxiety like me), or doing some of the more embarrassing moves with you, so you don't look like a dweeb all by your lonesome. And the part that people really want to know out of a review: Yes, she's affordable to work with and Yes, I can see my abs again! My butt is higher and perkier and my arms don't look like meaty sausages anymore. I would recommend Caitlin to anyone and everyone, especially those who view working out as a chore.
My wife and I have trained with Gary for a couple of years now. Gary is a great trainer that really gets to know you on a personal level and gears your workout accordingly. I like to lift weights and my wife prefers cardio and Gary was able to accommodate both of our needs. The best part is that Gary comes to our house and that is very hard to find these days. I am in the process of working with Gerard to get ready for my wedding. I had lost 30lbs on my own before starting with him but had plateaued. I include things in my weight loss program that most others leave out. Like 3 weeks of maintenance to insure you keep off all of your lost weight. Weekly nutrition visits, BMI checks, and body fat checks are all included, so you know where you stand and can see those numbers come down!
