HE was kind and patient. We had to wait a bit for the photographer and he was totally accommodating which I was very grateful for. Additionally, I really liked his ceremony. It was efficient and meaningful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to officiate your wedding.

My wife and I met Tom at a bridal show and decided to sign up for use of his photo booth for our wedding reception. He was very thorough before the event, letting us know exactly what we were in for. On the day of the event, Tom showed up and set up very quickly, introducing himself to my wife and I. He informed us that he would be staying for the entirety of the event, since it was part of the deal when we signed up with him. The photo booth was an enormous hit, as our guests were excited to visit it at least once. Tom made a photo album from the pictures that our guests took, which made an awesome keepsake. We were aware that Tom had arrangements the day before and the day after ours, and that he would be very busy. The schedule never showed in his professionalism, as he held a steadfast friendly and upbeat demeanor the entire time. Overall, we were very impressed by the job that Tom performed. He was certainly as good as advertised, and will be highly recommended by us for anyone looking to include a photo booth in any of their events. Thank you for your thorough, fun, and professional job, Tom.

Adam was fantastic in every way. He went above and beyond to make sure that the photo strip template was exactly the way I wanted it and was very patient. My guests had an amazing time in the photobooth and literally every picture is awesome! We are so pleased! It is also a bonus that we discovered Adam is a veteran! Thanks for your service for our country and for the exellcent service you provided for our wedding! So glad I didnt hire the other person I initially talked to.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Beth for both our engagement session and our wedding. We absolutely loved the quality and capture of every special moment. Beth was great with everything, from helping us come up with a perfect space for the engagement photos, to capturing our love for one another in the photographs. She was always professional, on time, willing to work with us on scheduling, meeting and location, and had such an easy personality to make us feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her services and look forward to working with her again on our next big "life moment"!

RG Event Staffing bartended my daughter's wedding and was amazing. The owner, Rich, was the absolute best throughout the entire planning process and the wedding day. Rich was always quick to reply to emails or return telephone calls and I made plenty of both. Rich even took the time to meet me at the venue prior to the wedding in order to assist with ideas for set up (and the venue was an hour drive for him). Rich also assisted me when purchasing the alcohol. RG Event Staffing is fully licensed and very friendly and professional. I would without hesitation hire them again. I feel I have found a friend in Rich. Thank you so much Rich and RG Event Staffing for making my daughter and son in law's wedding perfect.

Pastor Dave was our wedding officiant. He was absolutely wonderful! He was willing to come to an outdoor remote location and he was genuinely happy to marry us and so happy for us. He brought his wife along and she took pictures for us. It was just the two of us, so that was a huge favor they did for us. We would certainly recommend hiring Pastor Dave for a wedding of any kind. They are a very down to earth couple and fun and so sweet and caring. Thank you both so much for everything and making our special day better!!

Kim was absolutely amazing! Not only was she a DJ but you might as well call her a wedding planner to. Anytime I was stressed out or wasn't sure how to work things, she jump trading call me down and made sure that we figured it out. She gave tons of suggestions that were extremely helpful and I couldn't thank her enough! She came 2 hours early to set up so that she was not setting up while everyone was arriving to my wedding which was just great, she was playing multiple songs and had multiple genres to make sure everyone at the wedding enjoyed the music! All in all it was an amazing night Kim was awesome the music sounded great it was everything we wanted and more! So thanks Kim!

Easily one of the best people we worked with leading up to my wedding. Caleb did a great job working with my wife and I for our wedding, having a excellent suggestions for everything from music to setup to scheduling. His pricing was very reasonable given the amount of time and effort he put into making sure we had a great experience. Caleb was extremely flexible with our busy schedule leading up to the event. The day of the wedding; the pastor and live musicians were sound checked by Caleb ahead of time and was spot on and Caleb adjusted the music and volume according to the "feel" of our guests. By the end of the night, nearly 100% of the guests were on the dance floor having the time of their lives. I cannot fully express what a great joy it was working with him.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
