Joy Max Catering has worked with us based on our budget and we were able to pick a menu we wanted. We were able to add and subtract thins we wanted or didn't choose to have. When I first tried my herb roasted chicken, I was wondering how come I could never make a chicken like that. It was tender, juicy and lots of flavor. Hiring a caterer from 250 miles away to serve luncheon for 60 employees of your largest client is to say the least nerve wrecking. Chantel and her crew made that anxiety go away quite easily. I wrote three emails to Chantal with Thyme Well Spent Catering after my birthday party to discuss some of my disappointments in the food based on expectations from our conversation by phone, and the menu she provided in advance. She never responded. I am not one to post reviews. I know people have good days and bad days, but ignoring my emails is not professional and only confirms that working with this caterer is a poor choice. The food she provided was average in quality, and in several cases not what we discussed. Here us a copy of the email I sent to her which descibes my reasons for disappointment. Hi I just wanted to check in with you about yesterday's catering that you provided for my 50th. Although I enjoyed the chicken skewers and the tomato-basil skewers, to be honest, there were a few details about the food that disappointed me and didn't match what I ordered and what we discussed. First, when you suggested the spinach dip, you said it would come with crudite. And I was really expecting carrots as you mentioned them when describing serving dip. Without the crudite/carrots, we had no veggies except for the tomato skewers. And a couple of my guest are gluten free, so they couldn't eat the toast with the dip. So, I was bummed by this change of plans. Also, the Shrimp Spring Rolls were a mix of won tons and some just breaded like you can get at Costco. So that was not what I expected either, and again disappointing. Finally when I asked for mini cherry pies. I thought you were going to provide tiny, individual pies, not chopped up pieces of a whole pie. Plus, you said you were going to drizzle chocolate on top of the pies. And yesterday, you referred to them as cherry fondue. These dipped pieces of chocolate covered cherry pie were really hard to eat, and messy to serve off the platter. And again, not what we had agreed on. Can you please respond? I could see that you hurt your hand or arm. So maybe yesterday was not the best representation of your skills or your product. For me, the food was disappointing, mostly because much of it didn't match what I ordered and what we discussed. I look forward to hearing how you can rectify this issue. Thank you.

We hired the Moose Catering Company in June of 2016 for our daughter's wedding in Cle Elum. The event venue was a little rustic, however, the team from the Moose made it look like a million dollars in addition to providing an excellent meal of Prime Rib, Salmon and side dishes. The staff were friendly, professional and stayed throughout the event to see that everything was cleaned up so our deposits for the venue would be returned. They were very helpful assisting us in locating extra chairs and necessary items that we were unable to secure on our own in Cle Elum. The Bartender was extremely helpful to our group as we had alot of equipment to move. Although we tipped them all, we just couldn't have had such a great event without their help as we all were guests to the small town of Cle Elum. I would not hesitate to hire this company again.

My event was a Halloween Party and we asked for a themed meal for 80 with at least a few items that were gluten free since one of our guests is a celiac. Chantel provided a well themed menu with great presentation ideas that included several gluten free items during the initial discussions, so we went with her. There were some follow-up discussions regarding arrival times, Halloween platters that we were providing and plates and napkins that she was to provide. Day of, she arrived an hour late, without enough support to finish platting the menu items, a hour into the event we had to leave the party to go get plates and napkins that were forgotten, and remaining food that wasn't plated was left unprepared for us to be able to put out as the party progressed. After the fact, I reviewed the agreed upon menu and services and two desserts were missing, plates and napkins were not provided, and some of the presentation/theme items were not provided. Other observations/comments: - In general, the food items that I tasted (as host I almost never get to everything or most for that matter) I thought the quality of the items were good. So, good food, but... - Proportions of items were misaligned, we had_tons_ of romaine leaves with no filling, bunch of steak left over with no tomatoes, only a few ribs compared to other dishes, _tons_ of dumplings and couscous and many items were left for us to prepare rather than being ready to serve (goat cheese on the filo, steak and tomatoes on skewers, cheesecake bites and berries on skewers). - The missing desserts were replaced by two 12 packs of store bought, mini cupcakes and a bag of yogurt covered pretzels which we thought were poor substitutes for the apples and sugar cookies promised. - Certain items/presentation worked out well, but as a whole, I really feel like it just didn't come together. Chantel was very nice, easy to work with to develop the menu. And, as a I said the food was good, at least what I tasted and based on comments from my guests. BUT, the service really wasn't there. She did give a token reimbursement for the missing dessert items. In the end, I'd give a 3.5 or maybe 4 star for the food, but only a 2 for the catering service. So, a 3 overall.
