I've been taking guitar lessons from Ken for 3 weeks now. I had tried to learn on my own for several years and never got anywhere. This is why I decided to find an instructor using this service. Before I even met Ken he tought me some things I wasn't aware of - not finding it in any videos or written materials online. I think a lot of people that play instruments forget what it is to learn it. Ken has helped with this, I was pressing on the strings too hard and in the wrong areas. He helped with holding the guitar correctly, tuning it, and more. In three weeks I can play 6 chords already, and made more progress than what I did on my own over 3 years. So far, so good!

Guy Fiorentini has been my guitar teacher for several years... When I started, i knew nothing about guitar except I liked it. I have learned about music technically, and aesthetically and how to make music ... on the guitar! He has introduced me to many talented musicians as well as his own Milwaukee Hot Club... (awesome). There was/ is so much more to learn; rhythm, chords, ear training... especially ear training.. He challenges me at each lesson and the motivation is there all the time. I want to succeed and he motivates me to no end... A great teacher! A great person as well!!!

Mike is very knowledgeable and great at putting the information into a context that you can understand. He clearly has a knack for teaching guitar. I'm taking advanced lessons and feel like I already learned a lot just in our 1hr consultation. I'm looking forward to continue working with him and definitely suggest him to anyone looking to learn guitar. Having lessons in a studio is also a big bonus!

After taking piano lessons for several years, our daughter really wanted to learn play guitar. She began guitar lessons with another instructor however her enthusiasm to play guitar quickly dwindled and we soon had to push her to practice at home. We were looking for a more dynamic approach to guitar lessons and took her to a free trial guitar lesson offered by Craig Friemoth at Wisconsin Guitar Academy. Craig took the time to explain a great deal about learning how to play guitar and also about its history. Craig, an accomplished guitar player himself, interacts effectively with his students and his diverse fast paced lessons continue to stimulate our daughter’s interest in playing guitar. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results our 11 year old daughter has achieved with Craig’s guidance and encouragement.

Troy Stetina is an outstanding teacher for not only guitar but music in general. He is absolutely amazing at breaking things down and making anything that may seem complex simple. Troy is also pretty quick to reply when you send him a question. I've never had to wait more then a day for an excellent reply.

I am a 28 year old female with a limited music background who decided that now was the time to pick up guitar. Peter has been an excellent teacher and guide through this process for me. He understands my goals in taking guitar lessons and has found a way to balance my desire to learn and understand music (reading/writing)/music theory with the ability to begin picking up songs by ear. He selects appropriate pieces with learning value that I also enjoy. He provides me with supplemental learning material and readying that helps me to better understand the music that I play. He has also tasked me with some long term projects to provide a constant and on-going challenge. Peter is patient with me and is teaching me to be more patient with myself. He is a good motivator. Most importantly to me, he teaches in a manner that remains free of judgment and allows me to feel comfortable exploring a new instrument. I would highly recommend Peter as a guitar instructor.

Both my children have taken piano lessons with Mrs. Simon. We have been taking lessons in her home for the past 7 years. Mrs. Simon is reliable, professional and very sweet! Her students participate in 2 recitals per year and one competition called "Federation". Mrs. Simon's prices are very affordable as well! She has been a blessing to our family!!! Playing the piano has really helped both my kids with typing. They are better typers than me and I owe it all to Mrs. Simon!

I am very grateful to have met Matt at Cedarburg Music. After playing guitar for 14 years I decided I needed a fresh perspective, and I signed up for my first ever guitar lesson – a very smart decision. I have taken private lessons from many different teachers for other instruments, and I feel Matt is the best teacher I have ever had for several reasons. Matt takes you as you are, and points you in the direction YOU want to go with great advice. Never once has he ever forced "his opinion" about what's good music. Instead it's a discussion, and he gets you to think. Matt knows his music theory. We often study modal theory, and focus on the intervalic separation of the notes in relation to chord tones with a keen ear toward dissonance and resolution. In my opinion, this is what separates quality musicians from those who just spray notes. A lot of teachers I've had are extremely NOT creative. They just tell you to buy a book and do what it says, then the lesson comes and it's a rehearsal. Sorry; I can do that on my own. But with Matt, it's much different. If we work from a book, we focus on understanding and applying the concepts the book lays out. This involves discussion, interaction and playing notes not written in the book. Most importantly, I am more inspired than ever with my playing, and my confidence in my compositions is growing. I believe I am getting better. Believe me, after over a decade of playing it's easy to feel like you're spinning wheels and not getting anywhere. It's a great feeling to know in my heart that I've got that ball rolling again! Thanks, Matt!

I've been a GFLS student for several years. In that short time I've become a pretty darn good guitar player! The GFLS method helps me learn technique, theory, and entire songs -- all at the same time. If you want to learn to play guitar faster than you ever imagined while having endless fun along the way, you need to learn from Danny and GFLS.

    About

I teach guitar, not just songs. Yes, songs are the finished product, but there is a difference between knowing how to play a few songs, and knowing how to play guitar. The difference is in not only knowing what you are playing, but why. No, you're audience probably won't care if you know the names of the notes and chords you play, or even what key you're playing in. You play the songs for them, but knowing music and music theory is for yourself. So, if you just want to learn how to play some songs, there are some great websites that can give you all you need to know. Save your money and use them. However, give me a call because you're ready to learn guitar, not just songs.
