What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. How much is a boot camp?

Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. George Lewis/Inner Fire Fitness is hands down the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. I've worked with Mr.Lewis for 4 months and he changed my life. If you want to use every ounce of energy and feel the most alive you ever have, John is you trainer. I started with a low level of fitness and over a year and a half, have been replacing pounds of body fat with muscle month after month and feeling better in every way. John is extremely knowledgeable about body composition, exercise and nutrition and puts together a plan that fits the goals you want, be it strength, speed or if you just want to look like him ;) Everything is tracked so you can see your progress which helps when it gets tough. It does take time but you have to trust the process, it works. He will push you to your best, you'll grow muscles you never knew you had but theres always fun and good laugh to be had. It doesn't get easier, you just get faster stronger and lift heavier. Flexibility is great, whether its your local gym or home gym (my preference) and if the session starts late, you'll go until your finished. Every single session I’ve had so far was extremely entertaining and amazing, besides Yessenia being an awesome trainer she’s also a great human being. She’s extremely nice, helpful, takes her time with explaining everything and makes sure that her workouts are just enough to fit my needs. She’s very patient, but she doesn’t let me slack. If she sees I’m struggling, she helps. She’s not letting me be lazy and I love that about her. She always hypes me up which makes me want to push myself to be even better, makes me feel confident which is something I haven’t felt in a while. My favorite thing is seeing her excitement when I’m improving, that shows me that she cares about everyone she’s training, which is what in my opinion a personal trainer should be, you can’t train a person without caring about them. I started training because I have back issues, and after about a month and a half I can feel that my back is improving and all credits for that go out to her. I absolutely love her and I’m very thankful that she’s taking her time into making me more athletic, and overall for making me feel better about myself.

I reached out to Josh after carefully reviewing a number of personal trainers on Thumbtack and glad I selected him. I have not exercised since February this year as I became ill from Covid-19 in April. Hospitalized for 2 weeks it was a long recovery process as I could't even walk up stairs. I am not 100% recovered as I am still extremely short of breath. Josh works closely with me and in only 3 weeks I am seeing results in my strength, fitness and starting to trim down. I put on a fair bit of weight because of the medication I was on so I'm glad to finally take some control over this. We work from my home and Josh is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and always positive to be around. Very motivating and I can't recommend him enough. he's to being fit and thin again :)

I scheduled my first session with Alexis. She missed it because her "alarm didn't go off" - I gave her a call, said this happens to the best of us and then rescheduled for the next morning. I also let her know that if all went well, I was hoping to prepay monthly, and looking for up to 3 months at 4 sessions a week. I was really excited to get the ball rolling, and had seen all her 5 star reviews. 20 minutes before our rescheduled session, she let me know that she'd be running 15 minutes late. I confirmed this still worked for me. 30 minutes after our scheduled time, she still wasn't here - nor had she sent an explanation of why. When I finally reached out to say that I didn't think this was going to work out, she responded "Np." Unfortunately, the brief experience I had with Alexis demonstrated an unprofessional lack of discipline that should be key to a personal trainer. I have no doubt that Alexis is skilled at what she does, but sadly not a fit for someone who is searching for a trainer that prioritizes professional consistency and timeliness.
