I'm looking to provide guitar lessons to both beginners from a young age to college age students who are looking to either begin playing, or progress further into a variety of popular musical idioms, ranging anywhere from blues to rock to jazz. Having been playing for much of my life and playing extensively at various places across the country and even internationally, I've garnered a lot of skills and studied with a variety of musicians, all of whom have informed my own style of teaching, focused heavily on interactive playing and music for the practical, modern guitar player. I also have extensive recording experience, and have recorded on multiple movie scores as well as albums, including engineering and production credits on local and regional artists' work. Additionally, I'm also an experienced student of music theory, and can tutor and teach theory from the most elementary, to intermediate classical and advanced jazz levels. Aside from individual lessons, I also have extensive experience working with bands and ensembles in helping establish a sort of unique sound for those individuals, as well as helping cohere the music together, and form a meaningful relationship between the music, the performance, and the members of the group both inside and outside the practice room.(show more)

We come from very well studied performance backgrounds as we each have a Master's degrees from New York University. Hello! If you are interested in learning more about music production, theory, software or playing piano, guitar, and drum playing; I am here to help. The below paragraph highlights some of my educational experience (Please see my bio page for my professional experience in New York). About Clinton Educational Experience -- My music education began at age four, learning piano and basics at the Junior Music Academy in Los Angeles, CA. My classical piano studies continued through the years expanding to include guitar, drums, composition, arrangement and production. I graduated from Berklee College of Music, switching my principal instrument from guitar to drums, where I studied with Kenwood Dennard (George Clinton, Whitney Houston, Miles Davis, Sting, etc.). Professional Experience -- My initiation into the music industry started at Island Def Jam, learning and working on the international marketing campaigns of artists such as Ne-Yo, Nas, Kanye West, Anastasia and Rihanna. This lead to working with executives at UMG and witnessing the development and launch of VEVO. After the launch of VEVO and while continuing to work in the entrepreneurial space, I began co-writing and producing with accomplished producers, such as Marshall Altman and Carlos Jean, culminating in the release on the top-five album, El Plan B, in iTunes Spain. I composed for Harvard Law's documentary entry to CSWE 2013 Virtual Film Festival, advised on music video production with the acclaimed Canadian stop-motion house, Cuppa Coffee Studios, and helped out regularly at Electric Lady Studios and the commercial music house, Q Department in Soho.(show more)

Hi. I will teach you how to play guitar through your favorite songs. I recommend starting with top 40 songs on an acoustic guitar to set the foundation. Often times, these songs utilizes the chord progressions that you need to play for just about any songs you will hear on the radio. Once you've learned how to be comfortable with your guitar, we will go in depth to song structures, tablature, theory, techniques, and playing by ear. Each session will be recorded onto Logic Pro, and then it will be given to you as an audio file (MP3) at the end of each lesson in order to be reviewed for things to improve and practice on. An add-on package can also be included to teach you the basics of recording on a digital audio workstation (Logic Pro X or Protools). I will show you how to set correct levels, have proper plug-ins for desired sounds and effects, how to record acoustic or electric guitars, vocals, program drums, and record bass and keyboards. I have a background in various genres of music, including rock, pop, dance, EDM, R&B, jazz and classical. Whether you are a beginner, novice, intermediate, or advanced guitar player and musician, I can teach you techniques and tips on how to become even better. So, shoot me an email, and we can discuss rates, schedules, and the proper lesson plan and package for you. Steve(show more)
Juliet Sky Cappelletti taught piano and sang in rock bands as she worked hard to receive high honors at George Washington University in D.C., accomplishing her degrees of B.A. in music/drama then master of music in music composition. Next, she received her diploma in songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston with principal instruments, piano and voice. Sky became an accomplished live and studio performer, playing live in New York City and publishing two CDs which were well-received. Sky moved to Nashville where she became a mommy, piano teacher and studio musician. While still writing and recording, being a super mom is Sky's highest priority, so she, her husband and daughter currently reside here in Largo. Especially experienced with children and young teens, though she has also taught elderly adults and all kinds of people, Sky is selective about finding the most promising piano, guitar, vocalist and even singer/songwriter students with whom she can open up and share her extreme expertise, experience and talent. Please send an e-mail if you have dreams of expressing yourself through music, and you need a little help to achieve your goal! Also, feel free to call for a few reminder lessons or some specific style or technique help. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Sky(show more)

What do you love about your job?
I love meeting and working with new people, new ideas, different tastes and learning styles. New students always bring fresh perspectives. New songs and styles always bring new challenges.
I love putting my ideas out into the world and seeing the difference they make when they mean something to a new student. Creating is one thing, and teaching is quite different. I love bridging the gap between them.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
As a creative musician, I've always been forced to improvise within the circumstances I'm presented with, both in terms of music and business. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit ever since the first dollar I made busking on the street or playing a fancy wedding in high school. Since then, I've never felt the need to work for someone else because I'm confident that I can figure out how to make it happen for myself.
